Which one is better? The Lexus LS430 VS Volkswagen Phaeton. In this video, I document my experience with both cars. The flagship 2004 Lexus with the flagship 2004 Volkswagen.
These are some of the best cars under 10k. The Lexus is the most reliable car I've ever owned and even today with 209K on it I haven't had any major problems. The Phaeton on the other hand... yikes!

Thanks, and nice! I actually prefer the pre-facelift over the facelift. But I daily the facelift though, mainly because it has 208K miles on it. My 02 only has 80K on it. I drive that one TOO little though, ended up springing a lil transmission leak because it sits too much.

Nice video mate, you don't adjust the mirror electronically, it's by hand but it moves electronically when you use your saved settings from the seats buttons. My 4 seater Phaeton has a 374000 KM on it and it is still strong like rock Very well made car.

Lexus LS430 hands down o so smooth and buttery feeling every time I drive mines I own a 2006 Lexus LS430 never getting rid of mines 💎😍🥰😎

I had no idea Volkswagen even made anything on that level. It’s gorgeous, inside and out. I’m not necessarily a car guy, but I can appreciate a car that’s done well. It’s an interesting comparison, especially since you own both and have worked on both. Great to know which one would be easier/ cheaper to maintain.

Great assessment on both cars. Lexus LS430 and a 2009 Mercedes S Class are in my itinerary.

@@ToolDeals I agree. I’ve got an 04’ I’ve owned for almost 3 years now. 4.2 with approximately 175k on it. I’ve yet to touch it. Needs tlc but the engine wiring harness needs replaced. Being a truck driver with 9 projects makes it difficult to get around to it lol

The US spec were quite lacking in comparison to EU spec models especially since they cancelled it after 2006 and all the good stuff came in later years. Adaptive turning xenon headlamps were only available after the 2007 model year afaik.

You don't adjust the rear view mirror electronically, you adjust it by hand. Only thing thats electronic is setting itself to the setting you saved it in.

I’d pick the Phaeton any day. Lexus has class and competence, but the Phaeton has character and stealth luxury. And that W12 has bags of torque.

Good video bro. I understand about ease of ownership….used to have A8L great car, but costs to keep on the road. Pre-facelift LS was ugly but I understand it being better.looks like a shrek-mobile. Lol

For sure! I have two LOL. I gotta do a video on those one day. Comparing the facelift to the pre-facelift. Some subtle, but big differences and I actually prefer the pre-facelift.
