I am now rewatching to go click on each of those. The trip down Steve's past should be awesome. Drew and Steve could not have asked for a better outcome entertainment wise.
LFR is a win/win for everyone not a Leafs fan. When the leafs lose we get fun angry Dangle. When they win we get to see a happy Dangle. When they blow a 4-1 lead…. We get classic Dangle.
And any game between the Leafs and Avs is the biggest win, cus then we see the bants between Dangle And Drew. Got all those games circled on my calendar for the videos

"The Mask" reference got me. I had to laugh into the pillow because it was so late and I didn't want to piss my neighbors off. That's 100% me whenever they have a lead going into the 3rd, no matter how great the lead is.
Welp, the good thing about being a Leafs fan is that it wasn't so crushing to see it happen... been there, done that. Saw it coming when it went to 4-2 and the Avs looked about twice as fast as the Leafs.
My buddy and I were watching the game last night. We commented more than once that there was no reason the Leafs should have been winning other than Campbell standing on his head. The Avs were were completely out playing the Leafs in the second half of that game.
There was also the added benefit that the refs wouldn't call a penalty against the Avalanche.. or did you not see what turned the tide? My mistake they did on Kadri and gave Brodie one for embellishment of the interference! Lol

Yeah really. Leafs dominated early, Avs dominated late. Unfortunately, that leads to the Avs having the momentum going into OT, and with the talent these teams have, no way was 3 on 3 going the full 5. Matthews literally almost popped one in about 20 seconds before the game ended... had he, I Steve would even be upset, lol. I'm kind of tired of the whole 4-1 ghost, just let it die already.

Love your passion, Steve, and I still feel it was a great hockey game. Campbell was pretty terrific. He faced a shooting gallery! Very proud of my Avs for battling back when it looked bleak at 3-0 & 4-1.

I have kuemper and Campbell on my fantasy team. I was happy because I thought I would get a guaranteed win from one of my goalies because both we’re starting the game; but no, kuemper gets pulled and the leafs lose and I am sad and pointless

Steve, there IS still a silver lining here... the Leafs have only allowed 83 goals in 33 games. The Avs have allowed 101 in 31. Take solace where you can find it. lol

Up to the point he said this, the back of my head was wondering what the connecting tissue of all this was… obviously it’s Steve, and he knows it. So the only remaining question is how many more games like this will happen before he turns recluse and disappears, only to rear his head at the Cup parade when the commissioner will rule that an offside wasn’t called in the final, and the games will have to be replayed and the Cup win voided pending those results.
Here my analogy that can represent the leafs from the second period onwards. The leafs were a group of hikers climbing a mountain, then Nick Ritchie tries to clear a boulder in the leafs path to the summit while yelling “I GOT THIS”, and then an avalanche comes down and buries the team. Jack Campbell was somehow the only person that survived and was looking for help, but realized he was all alone.
Excuses, excuses. Avs dominated you like they dominate every team in SOG%. Took them half the game to wake up but once they did, you got outhustled and outplayed. Sit on that fat L, ya bum.
I was at that game last night with two Avs fans who very graciously took me to Ball Arena. The Leafs took their foot off the gas in the second period and hung the Golden Retriever, uh, Jack Campbell out to dry. Why am I surprised when this happens? Thanks for putting into words what I couldn’t, Steve, saving my vocal chords in the process.
Leafs fans need to understand that every single team in the NHL loses games after leading 3-1, 4-1, 5-1 etc ALL THE TIME. But because you only focus on and follow the Leafs you only notice when the Leafs do it and don't realize that EVERY TEAM DOES THIS!
I'm a Leafs fan, and I'm well aware of this fact. Freaking out over this is dumb, especially against an offensive juggernaut like the Avs. Even when they were up 4-1, anyone with sense should know it'll end up being tight at the end probably. This is one of the rare times where I think Steve is forcing it a bit for this video. He's putting on a bit of a show here... I guess his freaking out videos do better or something... not a fan of it personally, especially when its not really warranted, like now.
I’ve been a hardcore Leaf fan for 30 years now. Last year did me in for emotions. I would usually be upset with this choke but I’ve just come to expect it and was unfazed. I enjoy watching Leafs, I cheer for them, but I will NEVER let myself believe in a lead because I expect them to blow it. I can’t emotionally invest in this team again until they win a playoff round.
notable stat here, the leafs were 17-0-0 going into this game when leading through 2 periods but then comes the infamous 3 goal lead and that all gets thrown out the window lol
It's getting to the point where someone could reliably figure out a goal pattern ruling system that has: win if leading after 2, lose if score is 4-1 leafs, latter has priority.

I’m a Avs and leafs fan. Avs primarily. I was so hype when the Avs won tonight and then immediately after celebrating went to mild depression cause the leafs lost a game up 4-1. It’s always a rollercoaster for me when these two teams play
Honestly not too worried about this one. It was a good game. The leafs looked good, the Avs are obviously a good team. Just two well built teams in a battle and the Avs managed to find a way to win it. Simple as that.
As a fellow Drew and Avs fan, it was nice to see what producer Drew looked like (also nice to see the outcome like that)... I wish we could see the Watch The Leafs with Steve here in the States live
I almost spit out my drink when you said that Mitch marner is a good defensive forward.his +/- has improved lately but not that long ago it was over - 10 on the first line. He back checks like phil kessel. He has been known to try dangle though the entire team but loose it in neutral zone for an odd man rush.Has nice hands/ good offensive player tho.
We gotta stop doing this to our boyz, like 4real. Everyone's always putting so much damn pressure on them to be perfect EVERY SINGLE night. They are doing there jobs!! They are the best team in the league on paper as of now.. and they even got a point lastnight, but still not good enough ?? We wonder why they always crack, it's because of the how the fans are. We gotta start letting them have more fun and just let them play some damn hockey.
Great intro 😂 I went back to playing Breath of the Wild when the Leafs went up 4-1. Either they would win like they were supposed to or they would lose and I'd be upset. The night stayed enjoyable for me lol!
The Avalanche are a good team, I am a Leaf's fan but as much as they lost it was good game, I thought the goals scored by the Avalanche were hard worked for goals and yes they blew a 4-1 lead but it really made me think of a playoff game where anything can happen between to teams who were pressuring back and forth and it's not like the leaf's did not have chances either, and the shots on goal favored the Avalanche big time, I'd have loved to see a 20min 5 on 5 OT last night then the 5min 3 on 3 because to me the 3 on 3 does not show just how good these two teams really are and the battle they had last night, if they play each other in the playoffs it will be good to watch. thanks for reading this if anyone did (:
The fact the Leafs blowing leads like this is not more of a concern in Leafs fans eyes is crazy to me. It’s not good. We have so much depth but I don’t know why we can’t keep a lead. It’s insane. Urgh. That 4-1 lead blown on May 13th against Boston in game 7 was my birthday… I remember being so happy 😢 my poor naïve heart 💔

Its not like they lost in the last 5 minutes of the game to some plug team. The Avs are the biggest offensive juggernaut in the league, and had 2 full periods to come back. I wasn't even slightly surprised it was a tight game late. Either way, the Leaf's have been hammering these past 2 months, I'm not going to be too upset over this personally. This reaction feels kind of forced Steve. You always seem really genuine to me, but this is the first time that I just don't get it, or agree at all. I know the "freaking out" videos do way better clicks-wise, but I hope that doesn't start to skew your reactions to things.
