I was at this game Steve and I have to say I was fuming after the 2-0 goal! Even when Toronto went ahead 4-2 I still wasn’t able to just relax! This time they got two points by the skin of their teeth and I got 20 gray hairs but worth it all! Hey Steve, I’ve been watching your channel for a couple of years and really enjoyed the Hat Picks and Dang It’s segments you did with SN. I also enjoy watching your Leafs game summaries. While it’s true that your animated rants after losses tend to be more entertaining to non-Leaf fans, your breakdown and insights when they win are insightful, and your willingness to be critical of the organization as well as the players, when deserved, illustrates the passion you have for the Leafs club and the game as a whole. As a relatively new hockey fan, I find I learn a lot and am exposed to various perspectives when watching all the different content that is available. Keep it up! P.S. The game the other night was an amazing thing to watch, I could feel the energy through the TV from my couch in CA. Good luck to the Leafs, I am sure the boys will find themselves and turn it around. Just think how hopeless it seemed for the Oilers only 2 months ago!

Sadly Steve, I didn’t feel nothing but frustration… because once again the affiliates that handle Maple Leafs Radio Broadcasts failed to have the actual broadcast, so I couldn’t listen. (Talking about you Sportsnet 950… I’m not a fan) There was some babbling commercials and junk that was not the game. Oh and the Flames affiliate had nothing. I am apparently so spoiled by the awesomeness that is Penguins Live. Even Ducks Stream. 😢Wish I could get ESPN+ again.

Regardless of wins losses and points. No team in the NHL is winning with this defense coupled with their goaltending situation. Treliving's off season was terrible no matter how you try and rationalize it. No one trade at the deadline can make the leafs a legitimate contender. They'd better off keeping their top prospects and 1st round pick. Mortgaging the future with stronger past leafs teams in the recent past have all failed. Just stop!!!

There was a goal last year when it was tor vs. ari. I think it was early in the season where reilly bats it out of the air and then gets tied up. Marner runs in, picks it up, and scores, tying it up. Even though reilly got tied up and even though the puck was sliding AWAY from marner, when he skated to pick it up, they still called it a hand pass. You can't make any motion with your hand to either redirect the puck or glove it down and throw it to another player without gaining possession first. In the Tor vs Ari example had reilly managed to touch thebpuck with his stick, the play would have been fine. What's even more confusing is if you are in your defensive zone you ARE allowed to hand pass a puck.

I don't understand people claiming it's not a hand pass. No, he didn’t grab the puck and throw it to someone, he knocked down a clearing attempt with his hand. His teammate was the first to touch it so that has always been a hand pass. Plus, in this case it directly lead to a goal because it kept the puck in the zone.
