for drainage, try rolling up a paper towel and jam that in the drain hole. It will act like a wick and the sediment buildup shouldn't matter.

I've got the 12000 btu non-wifi version. It looks identical to that. I installed it many eons ago, I think 2014. It still works like a champ. With the slide in chassis, it's easy to clean. Just pull off the front cover and two side screws and pull out the chassis handle a little which exposes the gut where you can pick out all the crap that has accumulated over the years. I have mine plugged into a wifi smart plug (paid $10). I also have a wifi thermostat on the wall. The smart plug turns the AC on and off according to the temperature that I set on the wifi thermostat. I usually set it to 77F. It's a lot more accurate and efficient than relying solely on the temperature control on the unit.

It's a decent ac unit. With one serious flaw. Inside the unit where the air comes out, you can see a soft porous black insulating foam material on the celing of the unit. This collected moisture and made the most disgusting mildew I have ever seen. It grew slowly over time, so you don't notice the smell but periodically. I tore my house apart trying to locate the cause. After cleaning the units coils to no avail. It has been poisoning me for a long time. You can not clean the foam. I just removed it, and I'm not sick anymore. Other ac units have a non porous insulation. This flaw has to be done intentionally. I will never buy another LG product again. I also run a dehumidifier, so excess moisture isn't the issue. If you purchased this unit, remove this foam asap. Good luck
