The saga continues. "It's been a year since I last shaved and I've run out of cocktail sticks..." :)) But seriously, thanks for posting these videos! You saved me a lot of money with this fix!

Holy s*** this worked! Although I only used three cocktail sticks blu-tacked under one cable, it sorted the TV. I can now turn it off and on without having to go through the rigaramole of wrestling the TV to make it work. As it turns out, the TV heats up more around the centre than the edge I worked on so I needn't have worried about fire hazards. Thank you for this tip, excellent fix.

I'm about to try this, and im aware that your video is several months old, but have you had any problems lately? or has it been working steadily?

To be honest, it's not perfect. When starting up you still need to touch it in the right places to get the proper picture but getting the proper picture is easier and once achieved the picture stays stable a lot longer so this has definitely helped. I hope it helps you too!

how is it holding up ?

Is it not a little dangerous suring an electrical item with paper and wood? Surely this creates a fire hazard.

The boards in use here are generally used for transmitting data only, so little heat is produced, and of course paper/wood is non-conductive so no chance of creating electrical shorts.
