**UPDATE** We retested the native apps and found that they can remove judder from the native apps as well. To do so, the setting Cinema Screen must be enabled.

I think its very disingenuous of all these reviews saying the c1 is worth it because it not much more expencive but only showing the smaller size price. The price difference is massive at 77 inches

@@luckymansogo yeah idk what they on, in my country the 48" A1 is 3500 currency and the 48" C1 is 4900 currency, the difference is huge and not worth it if u don't game on it. so A1 checks all the boxes for what a TV should do; if i want to game i;ll just play on my 144hz monitor with a mouse and keyboard lol.

@@luckymansogo Totally agree, right now these are the prices, in my country, converted to USD. 55" A1 = $780 C1 = $1330 65" A1 = $1400 C1 = $2025 I wonder if the A1 is the better choice with this price difference. Especially when considering that if i buy one, it will be to replace a 2015 Philips 4K LCD screen. I mean...Even the A1 is going to be a MASSIVE upgrade, compared to the Philips screen.

@@JohnDoe-bd5sz ya the image quality looks equally amazing from what I saw side by side at Costco in non ideal lighting. Idk what brightness settings they had them on though. And for gaming theres not many games and ways to play those games at 4k 120fps which is the big upgrade for the c1. Fun tip there's an app on android that lets you measure your current screens brightness. Bet the "less bright" OLED is still better than you old TV it sure is brighter than mine. Just saving the money now.

I am new to TV buying and needed to drop a comment to say how great this review was. First of all, perfect length. Thank you for not needlessly making this 16 minutes. Secondly, I really appreciated the detailed technical breakdown, along with the visual results/evidence that helped to contextualize all of these differences to someone with no technical knowledge of the subject. Lastly, it was amazingly refreshing to have a decisive answer at the end rather than a clickbaity "Is it worth the difference.... you decide!" Thank you for producing such high quality content.

i was doubting between the two and finally made my decision to go for the A1 because i got 500 euros off price. then i kinda regretted it since i am a gamer but then also kinda remembered that i've had a samsung led tv for 7 years and have been gaming on that with no problems either all these years. and i switched to pc gaming so when i do game on console it's not nearly as long as it used to be before i made the pc switch so i wouldn't really notice anyway. all in all, i'm happy with the new tv.

Nice pick up. I was so torn between the 55" A1 and 48" C1 for the same price. Went with the smaller C1 because I do have many windows in my viewing area and 120Hz would probably be noticeable for Sports broadcasts. I'm using a full motion TV mount that can get 2 feet away from the wall and sit about 8 feet away from the wall, so it should be satisfactory. An extra 7" would of been nicer of course but... aargh. Can't have both without spending another $400 or so.

@angelincireasa9121

I guess it was only the launch price, I doubt they'll be keeping the A1's price high, as it's meant to be an entry OLED. In my country for example, the C1 costs around 1200$ while the A1 is around 840$ for the 55inch. So yeah, the almost 400$ difference is a bit too much to get 120Hz and some extra brightness. Hi there! Sorry to hear you're having issues with your soundbar. From a technical standpoint, the sound quality should be the same over either an HDMI or Optical connection, so there aren't any obvious explanations here. We're wondering if maybe your TV has a setting that's impacting Optical but not HDMI, or if passthrough is only affecting HDMI. Also, is there a different EQ setting for different inputs on the bar? If you continue to experience issues though, then it might be worth contacting the manufacturer. Hope this helps!

Generally for viewing you will want to keep the TV away from direct sunlight because they can struggle to overcome the glare. As far as leaving it out in sunlight when not in use, we don't have our own information from testing, but we have heard reports that it can be damaging to the TV.

Recently got a 48 inch LG C1 OLED. A fantastic TV, though the true benefits will be visible when watching HDR content in the dark. During daylight, or when watching SDR content, it's still very good, but not that impressive. I don't have any experience with the A1, but, looking at the specs, I think better brightness, HDMI 2.1, more HDMI ports, better reflection handling, a better stand, VRR support, and so on, mean that going down from 55 to 48 will be worth it. @SvenskaIdioterna 2 года назад
@@Hondaddy because it's a god damn beautiful tv with the same picture quality with a good processor and technologies and decent brightness at almost half the price. It doesn't need the greater processors because it only does 60hz and brightness only matters a lot in a bright room, way less in a dark room. It's a matter of priorities. You're a bit too stuck up on comparing the two and feeling like you lost something instead of comparing prices and thinking about if the tv has good features without comparing them side by side. Yes, the c1 is better in most ways but it's not to the point where it's worth double the price, not even slightly, at least not unless you're a gamer or have a lot of cash, and if you're a gamer you might want to get a good led tv instead since perfect picture quality shouldn't be your main concern, just look at all the gamers still going for 1080p in gaming screens because picture quality doesn't matter that much when you're gaming.

Depends on where you're located and the size, but 999$ seems to be the advertised price for the 55" model. So, the biggest deal was probably the no tax and free shipping. Overall though, you still saved some money, so it sounds like a pretty good deal!

I have a Sony A8F and LG G1 both 55 inch. Today at my local Bestbuy they have a Display model LG A1 65 inch on clearance for $700. I'm very tempted to get this tv but I'm a little concerned with it being a OLED display model and am I going to see a noticeable difference with the low brightness compared to my A8F and G1. The problem is on movie night with the family it's hard to go from watching and gaming on my G1 in my room to watching my cheap 65" Hisense from 2020 that I got for $250 on Black Friday. Do I sell the Hisense and get the A1?
@RTINGSdotcom
@RTINGSdotcom 2 года назад
Hey Wade, that’s a tough one. Some users don’t typically like purchasing display models for OLEDs because you can never be sure what type of content the store played and if it had lots of static images on screen. If you’re comparing it exclusively to the Hisense, then yes it should be a noticeable improvement. But again, it just comes down to whether or not you’re comfortable with getting a display model. Unfortunately, that choice will vary between users. We’ve seen some users do it and have no issues at all, but some that had a more negative experience. It could bd worth touching base with Best Buy and inquiring about what sort of content they played and how long it played for!

@@tears2040 It's not for me ... I own a C series and will always upgrade with C or G series. But these complaints I never saw before regarding any other tv and being interested in potentially getting/recommending one for my parents or friends this is a huge issue. The complaints not only were for watching sports but also for normal watching ... if it turns out as bad as described neither me nor the ones I recommended this set to will be happy. Maybe it's a software issue which can be fixed with a firmware upgrade ... but here on this channel they even didn't mention it at all ... which still keeps me concerned. Nevertheless, unless the price gap between C and A series will not increase, the A1 is and will be a completely irrelevant product from my point of view...at least because it doesn't fulfill the specs for a HDR capable tv as of the UHD Alliance specs.

In this case it probably depends on what you’ll be using it for. If you only plan on using it to stream movies/tv shows, then the A2 should be good enough for that without having to pay more the C2. However, the C2 gets much brighter, especially in HDR, so highlights pop more. If you're a gamer, it's better to go for the C2 as it has HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and VRR support, both of which the A2 doesn't have, so it can't take full advantage of current-gen gaming consoles. Hope some of this information helps!

Burn-in has not been a big problem since 2018 models. Only LCD owners keep rambling about it. I have 3 OLEDs in house, C9, B9 and G1, none of them have any sign on burn-in and they ran at peak OLED LIGHT from day one + used for gaming + used for pc (htpc) use. LCD has way more issues than OLED and you will see most of them on DAY ONE in the form of backlight bleed, halo effect, corner glow (ips/va), bad viewing angles (and if wide viewing angle filter is used, it lowers contrast alot). This is why LCD is pointless for people that want high-end today. Most LCD TV's have to run at 20-25% brightness to prevent bleeding too much and with HDR most TV's spike brightness anyway and you see tons of backlight issues anyway.
