Hello, which Denon AV receiver are you using? I watched it on the video and I want to assemble my own home cinema but still missing a good receiver for it.
for gaming we know both of these will look fantastic. What I'm actually looking for is a comparison with 4k 120hz and VRR performance, and latency differences.
There's plenty of games that could run at 4k 120 just fine. For ones that can't, they probably can somewhere between 1080p and 4k, or between 60 and 120fps. And having to switch between 1080p 120 and 4k 60 all the time gets kind of annoying, I'd like to just leave the desktop at 4k 120 all the time
Purchased the CX last year after your review and I'm more than pleased with it. I got the 'oh great' feeling with the C1 coming up that I would be behind the best again. Need not have worried however, not seeing any reason to upgrade.

@@TheCorne87 👍great, you do get the glare due to windows in my room but couple of curtains solve that issue. The TV itself gets pretty bright so I'm happy with it. Oh and one more thing from now on I'm sticking with OLED!
@@bigrob9759 Im getting the Lg C1 77" friday deliverd and it's my first oled to, that's why i decided to buy a new model and a big one 😅👍. But im curious how it perfoms in a daylight room, a little reflection i don't care about that no panel is perfect in daylight sunny situations 👊

Just bought a CX from BestBuy in Albuquerque, New Mexico for $1,500. Looking forward to replacing our 10-year old 55 inch Sony (which is still running well). Didn't need to change, just wanted to upsize and take advantage of OLED technology and 4K. Thanks for your review and comparison.
I got both c1 and cx. Everyone saying c1 is more detailed and clear that’s not accurate. There is no difference in detail and clarity. C1 is a tad bit brighter and have few extra features like game optimiser and all but that’s about it.
Just got my CX yesterday and am loving it! Blows away my 1440p 144hz monitor. Was bummed when I noticed the C1 was out and as of now only $150 more on Best Buy for the 48” model, but it looks like I’m not missing out on much.
As a CX owner, I really appreciate this video so thank you for posting this. I’m happy that the CX isn’t really missing out as it doesn’t appear that there have been any major performance changes. I will say that in Canada, the upscaling for SD AND HD has been disappointing as I still can’t get a great image while watching cable tv. My 1080p Samsung puts out a much better picture than the CX. On a broader level, I tend to prefer your site over the other major reviewers as you’re giving your impressions from the most unbiased perspective. You also come to your conclusions as an average user far more than the other sites which is always refreshing and very appreciated. Please keep up the great work as you’ve become my default site for tv reviews and insights.
I think that the difference of the sound may caused by putting on different places, I can see C1 is next to the wall ,and CX is next to the door way. The sound of both TVs are coming our from the bottom, the sound reflection setup really make difference to the audio.
@@BigBoss7777777 most definitely worth the upgrade. Better image quality. Better processing. Faster menu scrolling. Less glitchy. FAR better speakers. And on top of that. The B7 has burn in issues. I went through 2 B7’s because of that.
@@splizthadon6102 meh, i'm not too bothered about slightly faster menu scrolling. And I have external speakers. If the image quality isn't a significant step up then it's not worth it to me. The OLED technology is so good that even the B6 still looks amazing.
@@BigBoss7777777 what was the point of asking the question if u we’re gonna respond dismissing everything. Bro I’ve had both TV’s side by side. I have a B7, B9, and a CX. CX is the better TV than the B7 by a nice margin. Even picture quality. U can easily see the difference. The B7 is nice looking TV so if u don’t care that’s fine. I just don’t see the point of asking if u feel that way. I have a home theater setup as well but I was just listing what was better about it. With the CX and the B9 u can 100% get away with not having to use ur receiver or soundbar everytime u watch the TV.
@@splizthadon6102 because i've looked into it more since asking that question over a week ago. The picture quality difference isn't that huge. It's only worth it if you're playing games at 120hz. I'll wait a few more years until 8K OLED becomes more affordable.
So you were wondering why they changed to white. It may be to help blend in with walls better, as to minimize a shadow appearance, or what I was thinking was to help reflect the RGB/Hue lighting that many are now putting on their sets. Just a thought...
@@adeelhussain88 we got it for a cracking price. I was worried the C1 was gonna be loads better but it would appear not. No way it's worth the extra 1k over what we paid.
I bought C9 65”last year and with full support for HDMI 2.1 it was a great deal vs CX. With no marked improvements this year, I think C9 is still worth holding on to.
The CX and the C1 are literally the exact same television as the C9. LG have not really iterated since the C9. Wait until there is a real new technology. If you have a C9, CX, or C1, you've hit the pinnacle.
@@MXG000 burn in issues are overblown on modern OLEDs. not saying it cant happen but under normal watching it is highly unlikely. If you leave a screen on for hours at end then you may risk it but thats not usual watching pattern. I have had it for a year now and haven’t had any issues.
I watched your video on my 1972 black and white cathodic TV and I can tell you that there is absolutely no difference between the two ... and I'm not going to change my TV until they release color TV !
$500 more for a different operating system, slight color increase, higher NITS, and improved sound. The operating system is an improvement, but not a game changer. Color sharpness changes from scene to scene. The NITS improvement is a slight improvement over last year. You can get a sound bar to improve the sound. C1 is better, but not dramatically. CX is the better buy.
Spent four months deciding on what OLED to buy. Finally decided to forget the 2021 models and went for CX. Then noticed Currys had the GX on offer few days later and it came with a free GX soundbar. So cancelled the order and went for GX. Cant wait to set up
@@chrisking1579 i ended up cancelling due to an insane offer on the GX, bur as far as I'm led to believe othdr than the design they are essentially the same tv with the CX actually being ever so slightly better (miniscule difference). Hoenstly the best purchase I have ever made. I have never owned an oled prior but my god, it is a thing of sheer beauty!!
@@ktmcrush2290 yes, minor differences that mostly don't affect the image quality (like 2 2.1 HDMI ports in the BX vs 4 in the CX or a better quality stand in the latter) or if they do they will be unnoticed by 99% of the people. They are almost the same set.
C1 seems way more detailed. Very good review but I would love to see a Sony vs ur C1. Regarding 1080p. Turn off Overscan, Just Scan on and Aspect Ratio Original
I will stick with my CX, which watching your previous videos helped me choose. From what I can make out there isn't that much difference from one year to the next. When buying mine, if the option was still there I would have got the cheaper C9. Grab yourself a bargain and get the CX while you still can, cuz they will vanish, sharpish.
I got the 77 cx a month ago and that also is amazing even hbo max though threw Amazon-hbo max version the upscaling for game of thrones with hdr effect on sdr content is stunning so the c1 not having hdr effects is costly for me
So because lg doesn't have the app I would have to cast it off my iPhone movies like Kong vs ziila look great "dobly vision content" but u also can't get all hbo max movies on the Amazon version for what ever reason. And me trying to cast hbo max app from my phone to tv with content in HD or sdr for that. Matter looks like shit blurry bad. I would have thought bandwidth issue but new dolby Vizio titles look perfect and stunning but like with game of thrones is HD and they also have it on the Amazon version and the native amazon app body's the casting of game of thrones, if I use hdr effect and tniker very little it looks uhd the upscaling looks wild I ALmost was not a believer. But also streaming services vary in what there megabits per second I have not checked but hbo max is probably less then Amazon because hbo max app is rather new and all titles sdr other then brand new movies. But the higher mbps the streaming service supports the better and more like a 4k uhd blueray ull get. That's y Sony Bravia core service is a look out for me briva core mbps is up to 80!!!! Netflix is like 13 lol so imigine streaming and having the best video quality. But at a catch is ur internet good enough or u have to just up a teir.
I recently noticed whilst googling a lot of people complaining of picture quality issues, like macro blocking, whilst watching Netflix. They all seemed to have LG OLEDs, but there were a few people pointing out that using an Apple TV instead of the app on the tv had none of these issues.

For example, i have stuttering in cyberpunk and final fantasy 15 between 70-85 fps. On the Other Hand gears of war 5 runs absolutely stutterfree. (Rtx 3080, 10700k, 16gb ram). But i have the lg 65 bx. Maybe its a Problem with the older tv Processor.
@@tetsuo2222 there's some nice settings on a Reddit as well, I have found apex legends to sometimes start weird stuttering after I'll put it to windowed ( for a competitive playing 55" is too much ) , and with restart it's gone. Still own my C9 and still blows me away, at the time time of the CX release it was the same scenario, LG perfected the OLED with the C9 and everything after is a gradual improvement, still, I’d love the latest model but can’t splash out again, the C9 left a mark on my pocket as it is.
I hear you man. My C9 blows me away. I just competed God of War PS5 on the C9 and it was breathtaking. I use a 48 inch CX as my computer monitor but I prefer gaming on my C9. They are practically the same TV barring a few differences but the C9 colors pop more. I also use DTS X for some content.
The C1 is basically a C10 with no major improvements. If I were buying a OLED in 2021 I would grab the C10 because your not missing a thing. Great review.
December 2021. I have gone for the C1 because gaming and sound are important to me. Also better support for the main UK apps such as IPlayer, STV etc. at time of writing prices have fallen and there is now a difference of approx £200. I got my C1 for £1192, CX going for about £999.
Randomly stumbled on this video while playing the CX v C1 game in my head. Just stopped by to say great review, answered pretty much everything. Subscribed. Thankyou.
Going from an LG UJ6300 to LG CX Is gonna be significant, I didn't think OLED Was really that great but since I've been using my phone I've noticed those blacks and want that in my living room :)
Great video, BUT I'M GONNA GO WITH THE C1, I FIND IT LOOK BETTER, U COULD SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN THE 4K VIDEOS AND IN THE GAME MODE, U DEFINITELY SEEING THE DIFFERENCE, C1 LOOK BETTER, IMMA GO WIT THE C1, that's just my opinion
Had CX for FOUR months now. Can’t see any difference here. I’m trying to, but can’t! So I’m pleased with the CX 55 after seeing this. What though, should we have expected from the C1? Since the CX Is already a great 4K oled tv? I personally like the CX Interface as I’m very used to it now. Lots of tweaks possible of course, on both models, but it would take a keen eye to notice a “several hundred pounds” difference. I’m fine now with the CX thanks for review 👍
@@Jordanfiend361 looks the same from the pictures, I don't notice differences. The best thing about the C1 is only the more accurate menu interface. But nothing changes in terms of images
I have the 65'' CX From Costco @1949.00 W/ 5 year warranty too / What a picture / Wow ! The C1 is not an upgrade from what I'm seeing . Go for the CX while it's still around ! Love my CX.............
1. CX vs. C1: If you already have CX, C1 is not worth the upgrade since there are only minor variations in a few features, and the difference in picture quality is not that significant. If you don't own an OLED yet and are trying to buy, I'd still say CX would be a better value for most people. However, if the $400 difference for a few minor upgrades is digestible for you, get the C1 and you won't regret it. (I have a C1 and I'm loving every moment of using it) 2. C1 vs. G1: G1, with the OLED EVO panel, is definitely brighter. Will you, as an average consumer, notice the difference? Probably not unless you had both models side by side. So if you are only comparing brightness & picture quality, $500 price difference wouldn't make too much sense for most people. However, one thing to note is the form factor. If you are trying to wall mount your TV and want that flush fit, G1 would be a better choice. Conclusion: CX is still an amazing TV and will impress almost everyone. I guarantee you that you'll be happy with it and won't be missing out too much if you decide to go with it instead of C1 or G1.
Copped the cx a few weeks ago, the only thing I'd say is that you may want to consider qled if your room is bright. Even with that said though, the cx is fantastic.
That home screen taking up the entire screen is not a good thing imo. On the CX you can pop up the home at the bottom while keeping your show in the background. Is there an option to keep the old OS version?
Just found this channel as you were mentioned in stopthefomo live stream last night...subscribed!!! I can't see much difference in fact the CX to me look better in certain instances! Best comparison I've seen in these 2 sets! Keep up the good work. Will you be looking at the A90J?
Brought the 55” C1 at the weekend, just waiting on delivery. As far as I can tell you get the white back with the lighter silver stand and the dark grey back with the darker grey stand.
@@irl-hdr4080 I’m coming from a 2017 55” Sony XE85. Served me well these years but I’m looking forward to seeing what HDR and perfect blacks can look like. Only around 450 nits on the Bravia, HDR has never really popped.

Thank you for your amazing side by side! I have watch many of your videos. Just ordered the 55'' CX for £835 (using work discount/perks) I was choosing between 48'' C1 and 55'' CX as both were similar price....but as in other departments the size does matter (haha). I will keep referring to many of your videos once i start the setup on the 21st Dec. Keep up the good work! Merry Christmas :)
Amazon had the CX (55") for $1599.99 (was only up for a few hours yesterday) and although the CX is priced $1349.99 (Best Buy member pricing), I went ahead and bit on the C1 (price matched with Best Buy). I think the extra $250 is worth having the newer technology but not the full $500.
I love HDR Effect, feels like they backslid by ditching it, the largest base of content currently lies in 1080p non-HDR, I remember that setting on my old LED LG made it all look absolutely stellar, I can only imagine how sweet it will look with the benefit of infinite contrast backing it, the CX it is 😁
I went with the CX for £1155 with free blue tooth headphones, I think the sound is probably improved on the C1 but personally it doesn’t effect me as I run it through a 5.1 system. The only app I can’t get is Channel 4, I can live with that. My wife thinks the picture quality is amazing, Nuff said 😉.
I bought my CX about a month or two ago but I honestly love it I think it's plenty bright it would have been nice to get the newest features in the C1 but I'm pretty sure we got it for 1900 which is a pretty good savings and still got a fantastic television to pair with my ps5 all in all very happy with the TV but yeah I've noticed that the C1 is brighter than the CX but in person playing games and watching TV I don't notice it at all the CX is definitely brighter than the older 4k LG TV we have the 55uh7700
@@Drake23x23 newer processing does barely negligible difference unless youve got them side by side comparing frame by frame of upscaled content. Uncompressed medis like 4k gaming will not be affected or 4k bluray movies. Cool new game settings for what reduce input lag? Also barely negligible and if it is a concern youre a pro gamer pc will always be better. Also brighter? Yeah sdr slightly better but nothing worth extra money unless its reasonable like you mentioned. The price difference im sure varies from country to country but 65 and up theres a huge price hike
Appreciate the video but regarding your comparison at @8:34 - if you are comparing these from the footage you captured then please remember that you are comparing the image of the C1 from near centre of the camera lens (which is going to typically be the sharpest point of any lens), vs the CX at the very edge of the lens (which is significantly much blurrier). You can even see the colour shift from the harsher viewing angle and lens distortion there so it's affecting what is being presented vs what it looks like in real life.
True. I upgrade every 2 years. Its better difference then. And i can make a deal to swap my cx for the 2022 model next year. Last year i paid only 1200 euro for the cx 65 inch. Not much
@@pvvbb1480 to me it isn't good enough to upgrade from CX the G1 is better but much more money. Or do you own the c9? C9 is still good but it's missing freesync and BFI so c9 to c1 is a solid upgrade
If you look at 8:18 and 8:51 the cx has better highlight brightness than the c1 if you look at the sun shining on the pelican and then the snow on the mountains I mean it’s very slight however if you look at the parrot I think if you look really closely at the white part in the face you can see a tiny bit more detail in it’s face however you would have to pause the video like I did which renders it useless really. I think if you want to save a bit of cash given the TVs are so similar go for the cx however if you want the 48” consider the c1 aswell because there is only a difference of £20 in the uk and if you want it for gaming or you have a smaller space chances are around Black Friday there will be a deal making the 48” C1 cheaper because it has started £200 cheaper this year and LG are making more 48” panels. And then if you want an 83 inch you would have to buy the c1 if you are wanting either a cx or c1 but for me there is no big difference between the TVs and I’m super happy with my 48” cx😁👍🏻
One important thing about comparing pictures from the 2 TVs in this test: note, that every lens provides dramatically worse quality on it's edges than in the middle of it. It makes objects, located on left side of TV picture scene, appear less clear and more blurry on the left TV, because of lens - not actually the TV picture quality. Those objects presented on the left TV are placed on the edge of camera lens, and in the middle of the lens in case of the TV on the right.
The C9 is basically just a CX\c1 missing freesync and BFI so it's still an amazing tv! It has more HDMI 2.1 bandwith which is a plus but doesn't really make a difference.
@@malazan6004 Yeah true. And i don't really care for freesync and BFI as i don't play games on it. It is just meant for movies and netflix, so there is basically no noticable difference between this and the newer ones.
If the CX came in 83" I'd be buying. But 77" is a bit too small for how far back my couch is from the TV. So I'll be getting the minimally upgraded C1.

@@malazan6004 something I noticed reviewers aren't talking about is the choppy laggy new full screen UI is when its first launched. Its terribly annoying and does it every single time
For those that do not know, PC on C1 change input label to game console, then any picture setting you use will have low input lag period. Game optimizer not needed with SDR, however, Game optimizer with HDR is big difference in clarity and quality as well as motion and input lag that is where it really shines is HDR. But with sdr dont do it unless you want drastic hit to picture quality. The color accuracy and black levels are so much better on the C1 than the CX especially on PC. That A4 processor is amazing.
I really like that the back of the C1 is in white instead of the usual black. It really makes it look much better to me. Shame that it’s not much cheaper and available in sizes below 48 inches.
great video! 7:55 I notice a big difference on the side of the projector. you can actually see the metal grains on the C1 where as the CX , it almost looks smooth.
Thank you so much for this! I was just about to buy the CX because of that (I don't really like the Vivid Mode). I was only thinking about it because of the Game Optimizer but now I now which one to buy
1499 is not a bad price. I buy mine around the same,, must wait 2 days more so I can't wait if I must be fair. If you want high-end OLED tv at a fair price.. just get CX while they are still available because they will run out quickly.
I've had the C1 now for 3 weeks, and the AI Sound Pro is just awful. Really shallow, and 'tinny' and lacks base, even compared to the BX. I think Cinema is good, but still think the BX is much louder. I don't know if it's mine, but it lacks some base.
***LG PLEASE READ*** I think were on to something, I just bought a 77 CX and the sound is the worst i've heard. my E6 is the best i've heard, my C8 sounds good, not sure why the CX sounds like crap and looks like now the C1 or new x1 series are going to sound like poop also. I've tried all audio settings in the CX including stand and wall mount and i almost returned the damn thing, actually i still might! the CX audio to me is so bad that i removed it from the main living area and put the E6 with 9950 hours back on the stand. I wondered if a BX would actually sounds better since the speakers aren't firing into that curved front lip stand. (thinking out loud) that can't be the case because my 65 C8 sounds great. I even own a few other LG 7300 series non-OLED TV's and they sound fine. there is something wrong with the audio in the CX and now C1, maybe they can fix it with a firmware update?
C1 definitely has more detail. Look at the projectors corners in your 4k video. Blurry almost on the cx, crisp on the c1. Same goes for all modes as far as I can tell, look at the weather reporters face when you zoom in, more detail again
In the process of buying on of these on Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Just finding out if it’s worth saving the money. I’m edging towards the C1 because with the multiple HDMI 2.1 ports its just more future proof, on top of the better (even if just slightly) picture quality. One thing I would like to point out that you are playing these games on a PS5 (I think I saw it next to the tv anyway), and the PS5 does not support VRR. So whatever you select won’t make a difference. What’s good to know is that the latest firmware update from LG for the CX actually gives you 4K 120Hz with Dolby Vision support during gaming (for all the Xbox Series X owners out there like me).
