I have the same issue with my series x in call of duty warzone only with VRR in 120hz 4k. I will try to buy an other hdmi ultra high speed cabel. Hope it works then without flickering
That is mainly an issue with the series X. On PC there is usually no ingame 4k120Hz VRR flickering, only on dark loadings screens. Depends heavily on the hardware and game engine and there is also some panel variance involved.
He really is a douche and has zero credentials pertaining to electronics. I asked him and he got offended. He’s just a joe blow hard talking out his ass.
I have a similar issue where my blacks look super washed out in dark loading screens. I can only notice flickering when the majority of the screen is darker. It drove me crazy and took me a couple hours to figure out what the issue was. As soon as I disabled VRR on my Xbox one X I had nice rich blacks again and no flicker. Kind of bummed out they haven’t fixed this yet, it was one of the selling points for me on buying this TV.
Copy&Paste haha: I had the same issue, the warrantly was invalid by Microsoft (lasted only 9 months) so I called Amazon and they reimbursed my money, i'll try again tomorrow and i'll tell you about it... Anyway, i think it is a bug of the last update, I have to test it and test a new HDMI (i bought a new HDMI, General Electric brand) I have some information, it happens when you have enabled UHD HDMI COLOR (tested in Samsung RU7300), if you disable it, black screen will disappear (but you will not have HDR colors), i hope it will help you, you should report it with Microsoft, i'll do too... UPDATE: I did a test with Xbox One S, works good with UHD Color, it only happens with X version, it not depends on HDMI (i think, i tested 3) or tv, anyway ill try with other hdmi... In my case i have the issue everywhere...
Same thing happened to me with lg 27ul600-w monitor spent hours researching it. Couldn’t come up with solution. I know lg c9 is g sync compatible and Xbox one uses freesync. Maybe that’s it. Not sure I hope you find a solution brotha.
Nope, LG OLEDs has been discovered issue when VRR is enabled it messes up the gamma algorithms, causing flickering and flashes and this is apparently a hardware design issue and can't be fixed with an update but only with new hardware. Search video on YT called: LG CX & C9 Unlikely to Get Fix for VRR Gamma Issue Caused by OLED Panel
If I turn off VRR now on my LG OLED c3 it displays half the screen and the other half is black. It's making me use the VRR and has the flickering in dark scenes idk what to do
Hey did u ever get the issue fixed ? I just bought the lg c9 had the same issue. Make sure the tv is plugged into the wall outlet not a surge protector. Follow these steps. Turn of the tv> unplug power cord to the outlet > press and hold the power button of the tv itself for about 15 seconds. Wait 20 seconds to plug back in. I had the same issue I contacted lg I thought the lady was full of shit after giving me these steps but it worked for me. I hope it works for you. Also I used the power button on the remote not the tv even though lg said use the tv.
This happened to me with B9 tv..I just replaced the HDMI cable..because the hdmi cable that comes with the xbox is sucks and not made for hdmi 2.1..and u have to turn on the low latency option!
Agreed, you did only mention the cable. My bad. I should have added a bit more to my comment. I guess what I should have said was the cable that comes with the Xbox is HDMI 2.0”B” but can passthrough VRR and ALLM regardless. I switched the cable that came with the One X for a 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 cable and still had the same issue. The only fix was to disable VRR on the Xbox. Unfortunate, because VRR was one of the reasons I bought the C9 thinking I would be good for the next gen consoles. Hopefully this is specific to the One X and future consoles will improve on this.
