Excellent review all things tech got myself this beast the other day in the 48 inch version from currys in the uk and worth the money for me bit pricey but future proof for the long term and like you am blown away what this tv can deliver with the 4k goodness cant imagine what its gonna look like on the ps5 and series x also i liked how you shown your normal tv settings to havent seen one on here yet so will try them out because ive been using film maker mode the new feature but realised its mostly for movie viewing and i couldnt set the true motion thing on tv while i had it in film maker mode

Great video, thank you. Mine is coming on Saturday. Just a note for anyone in the UK thinking of purchasing this tv and being concerned with burn in. John Lewis offer an extended warranty which covers screen burn in for £140. Well worth it in my eyes.

Great review. Going to pick one up. I fancy switching things up from my Samsung Q9FN which is starting to show it’s age in terms of processing power for someone who’s tech savvy. It’ll be nice to have the HDMI 2.1 too to go with my PS5. Hopefully it is bright enough on my wall opposite my window.

The C9 does support VRR and G-SYNC and it could save you few quids. A part from that it was a pleasure to watch this review.

Loved your review, especially the measurements at the beginning of the video and mentioning the sound bar height that could be a decision make for some. I’m more inclined towards the Q90T or Q95T just because of the TV height is perfect for the upcoming Sonos Arc coming in June.

Same man. I'd have to get a new entertainment center/tv stand if I got the CX vs the Q90T/Q90R. Which would suck because at this point in time I'm favoring the CX but if I get the CX from Best Buy, It's $2499 after taxes its close to $2800, and then I'd feel compelled to get the extra extended warranty which tacks on a few more hundred bucks for fear of burn in, and it all just seems so complicated lol. Makes me want to go the Q90T because of this

@@TC-vu9wv it looks amazing and no am not worried about bur in one bit. look at real reviews and they all say burn in only happens after a very!! long time of a still image. if your not planning in using the tv as a painting should be good.

What size is ur tv? Do you think the 65 is big enough for a medium size living room. Just a quick question on the sound bar can use your cable remote to control the sound bar or do you have to use sound bar remote.Also if for some odd reason on some programs you rather not have sound bar on is that easy to turn off with remote and only use the tv sound and that later go back to sound bar? That has made me rethink getting a BX/CX this year as they are standard services imo! I'm planning to get a PS5 so may wait to see if LG add more services and pick one up cheaper next year. I just had this tv delivered on Monday. I’m slightly torn about everything. I chose this over the Sony A8H due to the hdmi 2.1 gaming feature. I have always heard how Oled picture will blow you away, aside from a couple of scenes where colors pop with contrast(using 4K blu rays oppo 203) I thought it has been just ok. I’m comparing it to my (LED)Sony x930e which gets extremely bright to create nice contrast and make colors pop. Last night I found the demo mode feature and that looks amazing. Do I need to get this professionally calibrated? I will use this tv for gaming and 4K blu ray disc/theater room. All reviewers say the picture and detail isn’t as good Sony’s Oled. The final concern I have, I was always able to see what my 930e upscaled my cable channels to by hitting the display button. Is there a way to see at what resolution we are watching something? Sorry for the long rant, just worried I bought too early and should have waited until next year. (PS5 comes home tomorrow)

I have the CX 48. It came last Wednesday. I'm a PC and console gamer and bought it for this purpose: 4k@120 Hz HDR (when the new 3000 series graphics cards drop with HDMI 2.1) / G-Sync / VRR / 1 ms response time / Dolby Vision IQ, Atmos , eARC /Gen 3 Processor / Airplay / Alexa / Google Assistant. Oh and did I mention that it's a stunning TV

WILZ if nvidia doesn’t change their drivers to allow for 10 bit color you are going to be using 8 bit color for 4k120 because of the reduced HDMI 2.1 bandwidth

Just got this TV today, the picture is amazing but I have noticed some motion artifacts on Alien Isolation, which I assume runs at 30 FPS. Not sure if the interpolation features can help very much either unfortunately :/

Finally someone that talks about the image processing because they really worked don it I own the c9 I was so shocked at how clean the cx image is idk why it's not being talked about more uve never ever seen lg image this good before ever the image is cleaner the comor reproduction is better and the depth is better all things to me that are more important then the brightness yeah fhe cx isnf as bright as the c9 but we are talking a slight amount that's all I would take depth and color over that any day of the week on an oled great video awesome stifd and everyone stop bringing up 48gbps we cannot use it it's meant for 12bit @4:4:4 @120 we cant use that it's a 10 bit panel now 40gbps is 10bit@4:4:4 @120 like that's all the tv can do anyways so chill about it lol

does it look as good as good in real life as my super amoled display? like, im not sure u have a samsung amoled. but i use a 10.5 inch amoled tablet and a phone with a nice display. but you cant callobrate these disolays. so i guess my question is do these really look good after callobration?i initially wanted 48 inch oked cx. but they do not ship to au in that size. so i feel forced to buy a 55inch. is that too big? for gaming in a bedroom?

You‘re still not using the full screen size in game mode. Check the aspect ratio settings and try out how to match the content to full screen! :)

Question so I’ve had my CX for about a little over two weeks and when I game for say an hour or two, it’s gets warm on the back, Idk if it more than it should be, but I heard OLEDS don’t generate a lot of heat so it has me a bit concerned. Just wondering if it’s normal or not?

I own this TV for over a year now and I was always blown away by the quality. I'm just watching Streaming Services and doing a lot of gaming. A good friend of mine bought the Q95T from Samsung yesterday on a great Black Friday Deal and we set it up together. Now I'm really confused, because the quality is just slightly worse when it comes to movies, but way better when it comes to videogames (Series X and Switch) and the Hub. Videogames are much brighter, so you can see a lot more Details and the inputlag is noticeably lower. The Hub reacts much faster and changes take place faster than on my CX. Its still a fantastic TV, but I was really disappointed at first. But I would never go back to a thick TV.

I just got the 55” one today. Only thing is whilst the TV connects to WiFi ok and I can use RU-vid via Apple TV. I cannot connect to the LG store, I get an error message. One resolution was to set DNS to 8.8.8.8 but that didn’t fix my problem :( The other approach was to change the DMU setting in your modem but I couldn’t find that setting. So scratching my head ATM, perhaps I can connect it to a LAN cable and see how it goes.

Nice video. Im really excited about this tv. The 1080p hd programmes is what I was interested in as I own a top end led set from 2011 which isnt 4k but still looks fantastically sharp with 1080p stuff. So this tv could actually be better than mine wow! But lots of reviewers have said the c9 is brighter on paper...please let me know what you think of the brightness and hdr. Please let me know how you compared the sammy 90T.

@@sj460162 You're welcome. They are definitely the closest they have ever been, I still edge towards this LG as 4 x HDMI 2.1 compared to just one on the similar priced Q90T I just reviewed. It depends on price, at the same price I would go OLED if there was a 10% difference that could tempt me to QLED. I love saving the ££££'s

I actually life the Sharpness up, the Sharpness down to 0 is like -10 on this TV so imo using 10-20 is best imo. But to me it looked the best in that range.

Fantastic review thank you. Picked up the 55GX6LA today based on this review. Been looking for a while, wish I had done it sooner, the picture on this TV is incredible! Rich colour, the blacks could not be blacker, the whites are blinding and not a hint of motion blur. Your review was perfect, the average user doesnt need to know the ins ans outs of colour gamuts they just want to know that no matter what they are watching it will look awesome and this TV delivers on every level. Bluetooth Surround Plus speaker. It is mentioned in this excellent video about this exciting feature (@16.00 minutes) but it is unclear which version of Bluetooth speaker was being tested. It is only stated that only one Bluetooth speaker will work with the front TV speaker. Only Bluetooth 5.0 speakers have this capability of supporting two speakers at the same time as I understand it. This standard is backward compatible to older speakers but only as a single speaker. I can see Amazon are selling Bluetooth 5.0 speakers with this dual channel capability. Has anyone found this is the case before I splash out on new speakers for my new LG CX TV?

I’ve seen a few videos where the shadows in gaming are almost uniformly black - is this an issue or just an effect of filming? Seems to universally be agreed as the best for gaming but the dark scenes look way too black from some videos, including this one.

For movies the cx will blow you away but for games I think the Q9FN will have better picture quality for SDR games and abit more punch in HDR games. It's a tough one because I just came from the same tv to the cx and I'm blown away by movies and tv watching but for games I still think QLED takes the cake

@@luciocancellara4995 my opinion on the cx has changed since a recent patch, gaming unreal on this thing and when it comes to sports the cx handles it well but I would be slightly leaning towards a LCD for sports and particularly a Sony LCD like the x950h or x900h. Burn in doesn't worry me but if I watched sport non stop I'd go with a Sony LCD

Can I ask when using the Bluetooth Surround speaker with TV Speaker front audio setting does that work with Dolby Atmos coming through the tv speakers or is it an either or situation?

Not sure - there is quite little / vague info on this currently.

@@allthingstech is there anyway you could quickly test it or have you no longer got the TV? If it just gives you some rears while keeping all the Atmos from the TV it could be a cheap and cleaner alternative to getting a soundbar system. I have a gut feeling though that it would put the tv into a more generic surround mode.

You should try the AI settings in General settings I've turned all of them on and I think they work pretty good

@@allthingstech nice. Thank you. Your video looks nice and clear, no blow out of the TV at all. I use a Gopro 8 to capture my TV footage, and I often struggle with the ISO and brightness.

how big of a risk is burn in? I'm really conflicted. I'm looking at either this tv, or the Sony x900h. I would be set on this, cause it looks like it has everything the Sony does, and more. but if I spent this much money on a tv and burn in happened, well that would suck lol. idk if it's worth risking

i just ordered this TV as I will be moving my C7 55 inch to my bedroom. I was really torn between getting this and C9, but this was only 300 dollars more than the C9 and I know the HDMI 2.1 is capped at 40 GB as opposed to 48 GB, but that didn't seem to be a dealbreaker for me. i mainly wanted a larger TV and something that would be great for gaming in addition to watching movies and running my PC through it. I feel pretty confident in my choice. oh and yeah, Liverpool all day! #YNWA (but respect to my boy Son Hyung-Min)

Good choice - I think the CX will keep getting better with future firmware updates and at on $300 difference - it's a no brainer!

Just so everyone knows the power cable isn’t fixed, there’s a small screw which holds a plastic cover in place, remove that and then you can simple unplug the power cable. Great for cable management if wall mounting.

@@dbw6450 it depends if you are planning on hiding the cables through the wall, if you are then threading the small power cord plug is a lot easier than the large outlet plug.

If one is thinking of purchasing an OLED TV and like myself are not a fan of streaming (Slave to Wi-Fi speed) then one should look out for a specification called ATSC, by having this feature on one's TV not only will one be able to receive (transmit) 4K through the normal traditional broadcasting methods (OTA) but one will also be able to receive Dolby Atmos as well! If there's one thing this pandemic as shown us.... is how quickly the picture quality can disappear on one's OLED especially at busy periods!

@@SundevilRoadrunner the tv is absolutely stunning and that’s compared to my last tv which was a 4K Sony 900f which Is now upstairs in the bedroom,PS4 pro looks stunning on the cx so cannot wait for the ps5 in 2 weeks time!!! 👍you will be blown away just on the PS4 alone

It should be fine. I never even noticed the film on the back of my c7 until after I got my C9 and it didn't affect anything.

Oled light being too high is one of the main reasons for Burn In. Have to bring it down to around 70 to 60.

My 2015 lg oled burned slightly after 5 years its not two bad but a small yelleow channel logo appeared right top which is only looking bad when screen is fully white background like snowy games or films..

why do reviewers fail to mention the height of the space between the furniture it is on and the bottom of the TV? I need to know this when getting a sound bar. I would be salty buying this and getting a soundbar and not being able to see a section of the TV

Can you please check DTS pass-through if bluray player or any other media player playing video with DTS audio connected to CX via HDMI and ARC HDMI port of CX connected to AVR. Bluray-> LG CX->AVR.

@@allthingstech ive hooked up my cx with an older onkyo 646 amp with a 4k lead via arc and am getting dolby atmos with indicator light on when watching films on Netflix with atmos.
