Wish you could make an updated version of this video since we had so many updates from both LG and Sony. You have recommended PC mode for the LG C1 more recently, I wonder if that would also translate for the LG CX
edit. Okay finally i go with HDMI input Game Mode and set Black level to lo also tve ps5. Why the c9 cant set black level to automatik outside of pc mode... Nice video! Finally someone who treats and answers so many questions so well and intensively. I love your videos! For all LG Oled C9 owners. You have to switch the HDMI port to PC mode to set the black level to automatic. The rest stays the same. And for all those who have red flickering, the "Live Plus" option turns off which can be found under General -> Additional settings. But for Blu rays the PC Mode isnt that good? :(
I’m not sure about if I should use PC mode or game mode. In the video he explains that it’s not necessary. But Since there has been some patch update and so on, what is the best option?

@@hdtvtest I think it would be nice to have best settings for older gaming consoles, even SD ones on the CX. PS4, PS3, even PS2 and Wii. What are the best options for non 4K content?
I think everything you said is 100 percent besides the warm 2 ,I have the cx65 and I think warm 2 sucks the color right out of my games and makes everything have a orange\yellow tint. All the settings you applied and medium as the color preset looks the best to me.
Bro is there another setting you have to put on because I put hdr to off on ps5 settings but when I check the freesync information it says 60 still? Or is it hidden
On my 65 inch CX on PS5 I much prefer the Warm 1 colour setting - Warm 2 leeches the vibrancy out of blues too much. Also, the Sharpening at 5-10 feels cleaner to me than turning it down to zero. Just my ‘visual impressions’!
I have Xfinity flex(an streaming box) and it supports Dolby vision and atmos. Watching the new Wonder Woman 1984 in CX was so freaking amazing!! PS5 couldn't do Dolby vision yet I believe.
I just bought one of these tonight its coming next Saturday! Super hyped, gonna use your settings to get up and running, keep up the good work. I got 5 years insurance for £140 from john lewis so if you’re in the UK id recommend that cos it says it covers burn in. Bit of added peace of mind after spending so much on a tv lol

Man, I wish you could do a calibration video for PC Gaming on an LG CX. I feel so lost between all the LG CX settings in addition to all the possible GPU settings.
Hi! Can you please elaborate more about Warm2 Colour Temperature? I think white goes too yellow, and I considerate Warm1 a more colour accurate setting, but I'm only basically a newbie and I'd love more info! Thanks as always for your work and merry christmas. 💚❤️
I recently got myself a CX and its a beautiful tv although I have to give Samsung props for HDR performance in game mode, I previously owned a Q6fn and hdr with my ps5 blew me away. Hopefully the CX will get better in time.
The controller feels perfect doing it like this... Thank you Vincent and marry Christmas... I think the initial setup of the LG CX was messing with my ps5 as the TV was treating it like setup box 🤷🏻♂️
When you change the settings as Vincent recommends, it'll change the name of the Picture mode from 'Game' to 'Game (User)'. So you can easily toggle between that mode and e.g. Standard/Cinema mode when you want to switch from gaming to media.

@@Lallebal360 I was already using black level low and rgb range limited due to the fact that the b9 doesn’t support auto black level outside pc mode. I was just wondering if I should just use my ps5 in pc mode on my lg b9 since it offers auto black level. Would it have any disadvantages?
Input lag...it reduces input lag from pressing a button on controller to actually see the movement on the screen. I thought that milliseconds are bs...but after playing hollow knight bosses I thought something was off...I turned on Pc mode and never looked back. It does make a difference in hard games...Dark souls..street fighter...basically all. That cinema mode doesn't do much other than smooth out movie from 24..to like 30...clears the judder.. but its really really hard to notice. I would go Pc mode on every tv every time. @@RDMelo-un3eb What?...oh you mean on this particular tv. Game video settings is just a pre set profile...game, cinema, sport...they are just presets. So I guess you chose "pc mode" on one of the presets...(Vincent chose game preset) and change setting inside this preset. You can change those setting in cinema preset..or whatever..but we are talking PS5 here. auto dark...in dakrnes lv. And since TVs are kinda weird about darkness...on a ps5 more natural picture would be automatic...but if you want to be wizard...than choose limited rgb. Oh this tv has hgih colorspace...ok.. Ps5 automatic everything. Auto dark on Tv as Vincent. But for gaming PC mode on.
@@Stanjara but wouldn’t Game Mode have the lowest level of input lag like PC Mode? I thought that was the point of Game Mode. I definitely want the lowest input lag imaginable. Would love to see tests of PC Mode vs Game Mode(I use HDR Game Mode).
@@TheProphegy Game mode, cinema mode, sports mode...they are called modes here, but they are pre sets...you can chose different picture settings, color, mpeg noise reduction, active backlight and so on, on each of them, but they are just memory slots for settings...so you can quickly change them depending on what you are watching. But setting your tv right, calibrating here like Vincent usually means it is good for everything...color correction especially. If you are using Tv for gaming...since it is the title of the video...for PS5...or any console PC Mode turns all post processing Tv effects, so that you can read small PC text. That reduces input lag. Now ... PC mode...Gaming Mode...or, different manufactures call it differently, is a separate setting from anything. I've seen tests...mostly from Linus tech tips... that even if you turn everything off in presets...like for gaming...input lag is still high until you activate separate PC mode. So I just turn PC mode on and forget about it. I can still mess around with sharpness and color tint...but smooth motion...that fake 120hz..thing...mpeg reduction...and other crap is grayed out. My Pc Mode is turned on...ON game picture preset. If I switch to Cinema preset...there is Pc mode turned off. Its difficult to explain like this and I totaly understand Vincent for rambling too long in his videos.
Merry Christmas to you too. Thank you for your videos. I want to give some feedback on the HDR of the video. It’s actually too bright to watch on minimum brightness on an OLED iPhone in a pitch black room. I’d prefer an SDR version. Keep it up.
@@georgecarcamo7457 I ended up switching to PC mode for gaming which enabled black level auto and full 4:4:4 rgb which is apparently only possible in pc mode.
I haven't haven't had the opportunity to test a CX, but I've noticed that with a C9 PC, in mode transcoding isn't particularly accurate, leading to noticeable gradient tinting. Also, Merry Christmas!
Please Vincent, give us a detailed video about LG PC mode and what it actually does (a more technical description) and when we should enable it or not. Escpecially targetting Xbox SX, PS5 (as you mentioned in this video) and for the RTX 30x0 video cards. It is still confusing if PC mode should be enabled or not.
Definitely. The PS5 settings are the right ones for any 2.1 TV. The only difference will be the color setting in your Game Mode preset which should either be 50 or between 50-55. If you want a more accurate look set your color temperature to Warm 2 or W40.
Hello Vince. Im a user of the C9 i bought that tv after you're review to bee future proof because of the HDMI 2.1. Im satisfied about this gorgeous tv but im really disappointed about the Freesync Premium mode thats wasn't enabled on the C9. I know that you know many people from LG can't you ask them for these mode for the C9. Maybe it will come like HGIG to the C9 and many user will be satisfied.
Same settings except for the black level setting that Vincent actually mentioned... Black level Low on C9 and RGB range limited on PS5 (leaving this om auto it will crush blacks)
I would guess the sharpness being at 10 by default is to compete with certain other brands that have a slightly sharper image by default due to differences in the upscaling of sub-4K content and presentation of native 4K content. The upscaling method is faster to reduce input lag buy produces a less sharp image overall so that setting is to counter the effect. I saw a lot of LG OLEDs next to competitor OLEDs and whether in Vivid, Standard or most accurate out of the box picture preset the competitor was generally a bit sharper to me. Plus people just prefer a sharper image generally because it increases perceived contrast and even makes colours look "better".
So to use HGIG is a question about if the game is compatible with HGIG or not, so this will leave me to go back and forth and adjust the ps5 HDR setting all the time. How will I know if a game is HGIG compatible?
He's saying for C9 users you should set black level and rgb range to Low/Limited instead of using PC mode.. I'm not sure how I feel about that. How much will it worsen game play vs how much will I gain from watching Blu-rays?
@@jabertagi3857 Yeah PC mode on C9 is the only way to be able to select "Auto" for black level (among other changes). But it disables a lot of other processing like "Real Cinema" which he says you should keep enabled for watching blu-rays (for the 5:5 pulldown) on the PS5. It seems like we C9 owners can't win. But oh boy, 48Gbps! /s
I just wish I could get my LG CX on my PS5 to look amazing. It don’t feel like it jumps off the screen too me. Seems to dim on the menus and the games look good but not exactly what I expect from an OLED. My 4K Blu-ray’s don’t look amazing either. Lol.
When you say a PS5 we managed to get one for our kids, then the CX65, recently bought around black Friday but when you say the Christmas tree blocking the TV I had a loud giggle, sooo true and I had to get behind the TV earlier to find a spare Ethernet port though it since occurred to me whether the Sony PS5 supplied HDMI cable caries internet? btw we was getting a CX55 but your advice from one of your videos to go one size higher than you are thinking due to size being one of the best upgrades, I listened and it turned out to be great advice... Warm 2 + hgig looks like absolute shit for gaming. For movies a warmer colour temperature looks more cinematic and i get that. But this is for fucking video games. Games are supposed to look vibrant and punchy
Warm 3 + hgig put color at 45 or below make sure to turn up the green and yellow up. For Very Accurate colors and what the game developers intended for you to see. - all according to hdtvtest
@michael O’Hara I find it to be plenty bright but the panel is on the dimmer side adjust the brightness but the brighter it is the there is always burn in chances I here
