My main useablelity is to watch streaming services. ) How is the longevity and warranty of the S95B compared to G2? Would you say one is more susceptible over the other to panel degradation in the future (e.g colour dimming..etc.) 2) How much of a role would a lack of Dolby Vision play in picture/colour quality?

What I don't get about upscaling is for example.. if you have Apple TV 4K playing RU-vid TV content (720/1080 ) ATV 4K will upscale 720/1080 stuff and send 4K signal to TV. The S95B is a great TV don’t get me wrong but the things that made me pick the G2 are: - Bad quality control (Google it, lots of people returned their S95Bs) - Samsung own Care+ doesn’t cover burn ins - No Dolby Vision Sticking with the G2 for now, maybe later down the road, I’ll put that in my bedroom and grab the next QD-OLEDs when that has matured more…

Quality control isn't a problem because you can just swap out for a new one. No manufacturer warranty covers burn in, not even LG's 5 year warranty. Dolby Vision is just as good as HDR10+. Are there any other issues? I'm still on the fence between these two.
@MassaKingWOfficial
@MassaKingWOfficial Год назад
@@brunomatassini9879 - Quality control matters even if you have the option to return the TV 10 times, you will be out of a TV for few days, times 10. I’m not spending thousands of dollars to be doing back and forth shipping a TV and waiting for a new one. -LG 5 years panel warranty covers burn-in or any panel issues -HDR10+ might be as good as Dolby Vision but most filmmakers have content in Dolby Vision, it’ll take time for HDR10+ to be as widely used, also nothing tell us that some filmmakers will go back and remaster their movies for HDR10+ -There have been reports of sudden permanent green banding on some S95B, the whole thing just feels like a rushed product
@brunomatassini9879
@brunomatassini9879 Год назад
@@MassaKingWOfficial LG has explicitly stated that burn in wouldn't be covered under that warranty as it isn't considered a defect of the craftsmanship. I significantly doubt you'd need to run through 10 TVs. More than likely if your first is slightly bent, your second wouldn't be. HDR+ works anywhere that Dolby Vision does, it's not something that needs to be remastered into media for it to work. Green banding is a rare occurrence and color banding as a whole isn't something that's exclusive to the S95, I've seen many reports of the G2 getting banding as well as early burn in. I'm not really seeing anyone demonstrate solid objective facts about what is actually so bad about the S95 that makes the G2 worth having significantly worse color quality over.

The S95B has HDR10+ which is equivalent to Dolby Vision. HDR10+ is relatively newer and has not yet been adopted by every streaming service. But HDR10+ was developed to be the world’s open standardized format and recently got adopted by Google. Not like Dolby Vision which more expensive for companies to implement. HDR10+ will likely grow quickly to be the standard.

@@Dominik-iv6ek very good and I am happy with it. Software is same or faster than older Amazon tv box (and a Sky stick). A main reason for me to buy a new tv is having all in one. Picture is impressive without playing much with the settings. I use standard or director mode, but usually the first. I bought it direct from Samsung in my country to have better return rights. It came with newest software and I think they changed many things since first tests. You have now a short cut function for all setting, change of input, even favorite digital channels. I didnt read the whole book to unlock all options, but its more simple than I had it before. The screen is really very thin, so You better prepare a smooth surface where to install the feet/stand! And use 2 persons. I also tried/did it alone, like seen in one video, but even with the 55 size it was a risk I dont want to experience again. Yes its ridgid, but You dont know really how much till its bending... One important thing for me: option to use ALL streaming services in my TV. And here it was only Samsung and LG. But I think the others catch up. Also You may need to check if TV comes with all this apps and services for Your country. There are TV for larger markets (like EU) and sometimes some specific for one country. I chose the tv sold specific for my country, because I wanted all streaming services and because You got a big streaming package for free. I would have also chosen the LG C2 for alone regarding the picture, but some options in software and using a new oled type tipped the balance.

In reality your only really losing tiny bursts of 1400-1500 nit highlights that most people would likely not notice if they were 1000 nits or 1500 nits because it is so small and it’s hard to tell the difference between the two. After reviews such as KG's comparison to the C2, Digital Trends' Caleb and Stop the FOMO, I decided to give Samsung one more try and bought the S95B from Costco (which through in additional warranty coverage adding up to 5 years) and just WOW! The S95 65" picture is fantastic. Highly recommend this TV to anyone, and buy from Costco if you have a membership to get the extended warranty for the same price as most retail outlets sell it for. For comparison, I have a B8 OLED from a few years ago in a different room and the S95B is really in a different league altogether. That B8 is impressive in its own right, but it really struggles to handle greys correctly. There is a lot of black crush in some scenes and it's always been something that's bothered me about it. The S95B suffers from none of that. The picture is much brighter, the screen is more uniform, and the colors are kind of hard to believe sometimes. It's really bad and has caused me on several occasions to get really frustrated with it. Once you land on the right input though and you don't have to fiddle with it, then the TV is amazing. OS is clunky and stuttering on the stock firmware, this has been improved alot but still needs to be addressed. UPDATE FOR SURE, because pretty much all content is capped at 1000 nits anyway and you won't really notice a differerence. Go for the best HDR impact. This is what these TV's are made for.
@Dr.WhetFarts

Well, then QLED with Mini LED backlighting will win alot of HDR scenes... 2000-3000 nits peak and 1000s of zones for backlighting. Bright HDR scenes will look more impressive than any OLED TV, however it will loose in the dark scenes. There's no perfect TV or perfect TV tech, that is just how it is. And there is tons of SDR content still. There's barely any difference between G2 and S95B overall when you view both side by side in person, which I have. In some scenes the S95B win, in others the G2 win, they are close in most stuff. However Neo QLED can beat both in bright scenes, ESPECIALLY in a bright room or with lights turned on during night. OLED only wins when it's COMPLETELY dark. And you can get 75 inch for less than 65 inch OLED and won't have to worry about burn-in at all. I have used OLED for years at this point but LCD still has some pro's over it, EVEN S95B, A95K and G2 can be beat by a Neo QLED in some scenes/content.

@@Dr.WhetFarts I've seen the S95B pre-updated and post outshine QLED a lot of times the highlights are dimmed on mini leds for some reason. Much brighter full screen but the overall contrast and depth is lacking by far. I need that 3D look. My S95B still has a peak of 1500 and it looks mind blowing literally jaw dropping. Waiting on Gotham Knights for PC. As for the G2 it looks too dim with gaming idk just isn't for me!

@@NexGenTek how does it have peaks of 1500 nits, are you on older firmware?
@NexGenTek

@@xXJeReMiAhXx99 Yes.
@Dr.WhetFarts
@Dr.WhetFarts Год назад
@@xXJeReMiAhXx99 It does not have 1500 nits and the stock firmware lacks detail and accuracy + ABL is far more aggresive. It's 100 nits more at most, and you sacrifice detail and color accuracy to get that. Higher brightness on OLED = ABL is more aggressive, this is true for QD-OLED as well. This is why Samsung lowered brightness slightly, however they added tons of new features and fixed the laggy interface too. Presets are far more accurate with correct EOTF curves now, in newest firmware. NO-ONE should be running the stock firmware. It's not better AT ALL and filled with bugs and issues (sound/arc issues, laggy menus, crashing apps, inaccurate colors and lack of detail). Imagine NEVER updating your TV from alpha firmware, hahaha..

I like how the colors pop more on the Samsung, especially reds, oranges , yellows. but I also like the more bluish tint on. the g2, I would try to tune my S95B with a little more blue/green. Everyone makes it seem like r g b is something that can't be tuned on these TV's without some firmware update? is that the case? Dolby Vision in G2 can also be a tipping point, you might want to compare that on the G2

Nothing at all mentioned about Dolby Vision vs no Dolby Vision. The LG G2 offers Dolby Vision gaming as well. I will take the G2.
