Hi I'm Frank and am awaiting for the fridge that comes with the built in 7 flavor ice slushy dispenser.

I have a lg door-in-door, paid $2600, Feb will be 2 years and I have had to get it repaired twice already. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!

Wow LG has created and solved a problem that didn't exist.

Only way to make clear ice is directional freezing. That's why the freezing process is that slow - no way around it without having a special freezing contact surface like a professional ice making setup. Just have to expose half the sphere to freezer temp more than the other half. Would love to hear from LG about which direction they are freezing from: 1) insulate the top, but leave an air gap in the mold (hence the slightly flat sided spheres in this video), and let it freeze bottom up? Or 2) leave the top open, freeze top down, but kick the cube along with a splash of water (containing the impurities) before freezing is complete. Without knowing which, I wouldn't trust this could make clear ice consistently.

did I read the spec sheet correctly, it only makes 3 caft ice per day?

We have LG LRMDC2306S. During first month we’ve had 4 service visits for craft ice maker not working. Each service call reveals the water feed line to the ice maker is frozen solid although the freezer temp is set at +4F. We added two thermometers into the freezer that log temp and they both show 4F so temp sensor is good. Does the craft ice maker line have a heater/defrost? Latest tech wants to switch out water feed line but by this point we have zero confidence LG know how to build a fridge.

I just got a brand new LG fridge with craft ice, but the ice balls are only clear about half way up.

Too bad that the real ice balls don't look like the ones in the videos. Mine have huge dimples on the top and bottom and are clear only on 1/2 the ball. Worst thing is the the craft ice maker won't keep working. Watetr line and the whole ice maker itself were replaced once, now it won't make ice again. Very disappointed.

Our other brand fridge was about 7 years old. My family can't wait too get ours!!

All good sales points on the advantages of cubes, however, I still have a few questions. Is this the only size the ice-maker makes is cubes, or is the crushed ice made up from the cubes? How long does it take to make the cubes? How many cubes are made in a batch?

The craft ice is pretty, but impractical since it only makes 3 a day! There needs to be a kit to swap it out with a normal ice maker for those who don't booze or have a need for the bigger ice balls.

I was interested before I watched the video, now not so much.

I'd prefer bar-quality pebble ice to these big spheres, but I guess it doesn't really matter since the typical LG fridge fails after a couple of years anyway.

Hey LG, I am likely still going to buy your product, however. If you are going to present the beauty of your "CRAFT" Ice maker and a demonstration.... maybe use filtered water? No one wants to see floaties up close in the product's flagship marketing piece. Geez guys.

Buyer Beware! Bought one of these and the ice stopped making ice. Did all the resets, contacted LG support - still not able to work. Biggest waste of money.

Wouldn’t these be easier for a child to choke on once they’ve melted down a bit. Seems to me being primarily round In shape, it would perfectly close off the wind pipe. At about the age of seven my brother had an ice cube lodged in his throat. It was rectangular so it did not totally cut off his air supply, he was fine after my father dislodged it. Have also heard many stories of dogs choking on round objects. Hate to sound negative but I would be carful with these especially with children.

Bags of ice are 25 cents a pound at Walmart. 3 grand buys a LOT of bags; that's over 10K lbs of ice!!

Purchased a refrigerator 3 years ago and like a lot of people who were part of the class action lawsuit our refrigerator stopped working. 3 years? That is absolutely unacceptable. I cannot and will not ever recommend LG products. Oh and if they even cover the food loss which they probably wont they will offer you a fraction of what you lost and call it a customer "courtesy". LG (Literally Garbage) will have you by the balls when the compressor fails in 18 months and all your food spoils.

Two things: 1. Melting slower means it is not cooling your drink as fast. 2. Who is going to be the first to sue lg when that iceberg rills down the glass and smacks them in the top lip?
