LG OLED,burn in prevention settings & tips 

You are amazing man!! some of these setting i never even thought of and you didn't cover some of these in the previous tip videos so thank you for this update!!

I bought the LG E9 65" and for those who are wondering about us who are using the tv almost as any other tv, but with carefulness, i can say this. I'm only using the inbuilt burn in prevention, never used the 4-way zoom and it works as intended. No sign or trace of burn in, image retension, banding or bad uniformity so far. (Maybe i was lucky with the panel). Subtitles are always on when watching movies and static images from sport events and stuff like twitch are no problems(chat disabled) when pixel shift and logo luminance are on. Remember that the most important thing with oled is to vary your content. To get burn in you gotta have to abuse your tv and watch the same news channel with the same static images for hours and days. Rtings made a test and it really shows how abusive you gotta have to be to get burn in. It's more likely to get image retension but the mini cycle after 4h of use usually takes care of it so it never happens. Of course there are cases of burn in but I believe the panel they got was already bad from the start which happens.

2022 and I’m thinking of buying an OLED but had the obvious worries about burn in. This video makes me feel a bit better about the idea of getting one. Especially since John Lewis supposedly let you have such burn in problems covered for £140 as well. And your tips are awesome so they will help ease my mind a bit. If I buy it then it would get used quite a lot in a day but at least I’d be doing all I can to prevent it using all your good tips.

I had the 55” curved screen, 3D LG OLED TV. After 41/2 years it developed really bad Burn in through watching CNN News and other news channels. Luckily it was still in warranty. Neither LG nor the retailer could repair the TV and I was issued with an e-voucher to purchase a replacement TV. I watched your review on the LG OLED CX 65”, and paid the small difference, I also took out the enhanced warranty for accidental damage and the set-up fee, it was delivered last Sunday. Thanks for the good advice, it is certainly a great TV.

5500 Hours on LG B9 65" still looks great on all test since I first bought the TV.All good tips but I just use default settings except I shut off ECO mode

Wow, these are really good tips actually. I did a ton of research and didn't know about half of this.

Please could you show or tell your standard picture settings. Like brightness etc. The picture of your screen in this video looks really nice.

'Oled are brilliant TV's and the best thing since sliced bread'. Let's hold our judgment until year 3-4 and come back and see if we are all saying same thing then. Nothing you can do will prevent burn-in and a dimming image It is inevitable after a few years. If it wasn't a problem then why don't LG and other manufacturers offer burn warranties here in the UK?. Food for thought. love the channel Paul and keep up the good work big guy.

Great tips man, thank you! My CX65 automatically turns off after 5 minutes or so when the paintings are shown in no signal mode. Nevertheless still turned them off to be sure! Cheers

Perfect video! There were a couple things I didn't know about that really helped out.

Have a darker spot on the middle of the TV I got a lg oled c9 since October 2020 I just started to see that on the screen I'll try these tips and see if it will help by the way thanks for your tips stay sharp 👍🙂

I don’t have any kids, but I DO own a 175 lb. Irish Wolfhound who, for reasons beyond my comprehension, will climb into my recliner in the middle of the night, and his ginormous feet sometimes hits the remote which I usually leave on the armrest. So this anti-kid / anti-auto-startup Power Sync feature works great for the big galoot as well.

I don't normally write comments but I think this is uselful info regarding skyQ & burn in protection. Their banner at the bottom of the screen when you pause a program is there a lot more than you realise and it always a concern for me. My wife and my kids have a nasty habit of leaving sky on pause for really long periods of time, leaving that banner on screen. It is also there when you bring up the pop up info and rewind/fast forward. (you can remove it from the screen by pressing the back button after you pause) Follow the instructions on how to zoom the aspect of the screen. Zooming in 1-click is just enough to move the most prominent parts of the pause screen to a different row of pixels. I move it back and forth every week or so. Thanks for all your videos on the CX, watching them is what convinced me to buy. From reviews, un-boxing to set up. 👌🏻

Paul ALWAYS awesome videos bud! Sadly my 3.5 week old LG CX got burn in playing Read Dead Redemption 2 :(. The HUD in the bottom left hand corner burned in on me. The store was great about it tho and they put me into a Samsung 90T. I do love the brightness of the Samsung 90T. And the colours are amazing. I also used your setting you did on your 95T a while back, and they work great.

Sometimes people advices to decrase oled light even for hdr content, but i think for hdr content oled light should always be on 100 because then it will be the best hdr experience, and what you think about this?

I hope this helps with my gaming as i want to play the whole game from beginning and end without burn. This helps with gaming right? At least i can use these tips for live tv especially the logo luminance and the 4 way zoom.

I've tried to use the 4-way zoom option on last year's LG OLED C1 model, but the Aspect Ratio is locked in at 16:9, and the option to change that setting is greyed out. Is there any alternative way to zoom in so that scores and logos at the top corners aren't visible? Thanks!

It’s so worrying you present as many burn in videos as you do. It implies burn in is still a significant risk on Oled Tvs. I love our videos and like many struggled with the decision of oled or qled. As nice as the oled picture is, I just couldn’t risk it. Keep up the good work on the videos.

Man, this has actually made me even more happy with my Panasonic LED tv. 10 year old device, no smart features, no burn in, no trouble. Those new tvs are just getting more and more complicated and prone to damage.

Before doing these settings, my CX would've connect instantly with my iphone via airplay. Now it doesn't connect at all. Which one of the settings do I need to disable in order to get back the airplay feature? Thank you.

I watch a lot of old TV shows and movies and often they are in 4:3 picture mode which leaves a black line on either side. Is it OK to have the black lines while watching older content? Black can’t cause burn in correct? I would rather not keep adjusting the screen size going back and forth between regular programming and old movies and TV shows.

Did they get rid of Eco Mode in an update? I just got my CX 77 and it doesn't have Eco Mode.

Man, i Got the LG CX and wow, the quality is amazing. I have a question. If a static image is running in the background, but you choose the option for screen saver to turn the screen black, does this prevent burn in? Even if the tv is turned on ?

I have the Samsung Q90T and I have recently been contemplating buying a LG CX. In your opinion would the difference in the tvs be worth the additional purchase?

im on my first 80 hrs on my CX, i had the oled light and contrast set as low as 50. i seen one of your video saying you need to have you oled light set to low for atleast the first 100-200 hrs. that still relevant?

Or buy a good MiniLED this year and you don't have to worry about anything. That's my plan. Hope they are good because I plan to keep it until proper Inorganic QNED comes out or even MicroLED becomes cheaper.

At 2:54 as the tv does a mini refresh when turned off. Is this enabled already or do I need to click on “operate once when tv…” for it activate that

I have just purcahsed a brand new lg 65 nano 756 A, it is Nanocell technology, I have noticed if anything static is left on screen for more then a few minutes it leaves an image retention which fades after 10 to 25 minutes... This surely can't be normal? I can't find anything on Nanocell TVs havin this issue, all I find is OLED videos, if you know of anything please it would greatly help, I am going to contact support soon with LG.

Hi tech guy I have c2 oled and my menu is different to that. I cant find oled screensaver anywhere. Maybe your c2 was 2021..on 2022 layout has changed from your c2. 😢

Today returned my 3 year old LG 55B7 to LG for a panel replacement as it had quite bad screen burn. Had a 5 year guarantee from John Lewis on the set but they said screen burn was not covered. So had to pay LG £200 for what they said was a recognised fault. Asked them to cover this cost but they said NO!

Sky news ruined my Sony 55A1 Oled with burn in from their bottom slide running on the screen , Sony wasn't the slightest bit interested in the issue, hope this bad boy is better, thanks for the tips.

Hi I’ve seen the pixel refresher do it’s thing, However I would like to vary the images as example I’ll go to art gallery an cycle through those for like 5-10 min. But like in the demo mode you have a lot of immersive images an even viewing your background I haven’t found away to get diff content on the tv so how do you do it? An always thanks for the videos! I like your intro with the roller coaster too! My only option is too switch input to my Apple TV an let it do the Ariel screen savers which go from underwater to space....

For some reason my CX does not have the eco mode setting. It has the power save setting and I have the hdd power saving mode enabled but don’t see any power off setting in there.
