We have a bottom freezer style and the ice maker works fine but does make a bunch more sound than it had when dumping the cubes and refilling. Wondering if that means it's failing or needs to be reset or what ?
I read on another repair video to heat the test button with hair dryer, especially if there is no feel of being pressed, and nothing happens, could be frozen, sounds good to me!
Worked for me! Thank you so much! For some reason, the tray in the ice maker was upside down and doing this had the refrigerator starting to make ice again :)
Have had a Kenmore bottom freezer for 3 years just now hooked up the ice maker. It's not working. Can't really see the automatic shut off arm.. is that why it's not filling? How do I unlock it so it hangs down?
I guess I fixed it in a minute. First you need to unplug your fridge. Then you have to remove water dispenser from the fridge and use air compressor. Let it blow inside the hole for about 10 seconds. Expect little pieces of limescale to fly ouf of it. Put back your water dispenser, close it. I didnt hear any sound of the pump (yet). Then what I did was removing the top plastic as seen on 0:16 and manualy poured water inside the plastic ice maker. 3-4 hours later ice was made and those doors started to drop ice and water pump started to send water from water dispenser to ice maker. So now everything works well and i spent exactly 0 euros for service. Hope it works for you too.
Hello. I have anLG lfx25974st ice maker not working. When turn switch on off then on again , the ice tray tries to rotate. Only goes a 1/4". It doesn't spin all the way. Any ideas why it doesn't? Thanks
This LG Ice maker stopped working in the door bottom still making ice where is the reset I've turned the on and off switch off for a couple hours still nothing ice tray is upside down position and don't move.
I have one of these and the water that fills the ice tray is splashing out of the inlet race/channel (water over pressurized?) This then wets the switch area underneath, wets the ice and refreezes jamming the crusher mechanism. Anyone seeing such behavior or know how to prevent it?
Mine does same thing nothing happens when trying the test button ! I've unplugged the unit and tried the reset process still nothing! Tested the switch and it is fine. I'm guessing the motor is fried any other suggestions?
Thank you so much. I just looked at this video and then managed to find that button if when I have a different model and straight after this it started working
Our ice tray has ice but won't dump. We have tested. We have turned it off for 20 minutes & turned back on & tested again. What could it be? What is the app for diagnostics on your smart phone? ??
Please check if the Ice maker is turned on. And please check if there is ice in the bucket. If this does not solve your problem, please contact you local LG Support channels.
It depends a lot on how often doors are opened, if cold the ice production can be as fast as a full batch every 2-3 hours. Please check your owners manual.
How much ice can we expect? My New LG after 3 weeks has only filled the bin about 1/4 full. Very slow production. Yes our water flow is good. I tested it.
There are different ice maker, each with different amounts of cubes they can produce. Still 1/4 full bin after 3 weeks seems like a too slow ice production. In general, the first batch of ice will take ~24 hours. After that, an LG ice maker can produce a new batch between 2-4 hours, if the freezer temperature is stable (door where ice is produced is not opened a lot) freezer at-18 degrees Celsius.
I did have a service person from LG come to the house to look at it. There is nothing wrong with the unit but he suggested I pull the cubes away from the arm to allow it to make more ice. This has helped some but the refrigerator does not produce nearly as much ice as the GE unit that we replaced. The service person also noticed that the installers had not pulled the protective plastic off the doors. It was put on so well that I thought it was part of the finish. Glad we had him come. LG should have mentioned that in the directions or at least put a pull tab on it so that we knew it was to be removed. We do like the refrigerator other than the minimal ice production.
@@robertspreter3027 Hey thanks for taking the time to reply. I do also love the unit apart from the ice problem. Yes the plastic was on so well even on the end of the shelves I thought that was part of it until I removed to wash😂. I’ll just have to do the ice the old fashion way which is fill extra trays. Thanks again for the reply.
It is probably trying to get into its original position. I suggest you to contact your local helpdesk, there might be something preventing the ice maker to move from its current position.
Hello Sir. My reset button works. But there is NO automatic refill , for some reason. The icecubes are being produced ONLY when i press the reset button 😔.... Any ideas how to recover the automatic refilling ?
I'm afraid not. It might be that the ice maker sensor is affected, but that would typically result in an error on the display. You can try to bring up errors by: pressing Freezer+Express Freeze at the same time for ~2 seconds. If all led's are lighting up, there is no error detected.
+Sarah Bridges Lg has a simple trick to see if the Ice maker does not have a problem. If you press the Freezer and Express (Super) Freez buttons at the same time, all LED's should lit and you should see 88:88 for the temperatures. If you get and IS Er or It Er, in the display, then you need to call service.
@@sietse63 all my lights come up but I have a problem, the dispenser continuously dispenses water or ice and the LED light by the flap is constantly on
Hi, Why would the ice maker only be filling the first 4 cube holes with water? It's level and there is water in the dispenser but it keeps only putting in enough water for the first 4 holes. Is there something that I can adjust to put more water into the cube tray?
Did you check your watertap? Is it open enough? Or do you have a non-plumbing (container in the fridge door)? Check your water tubes that they are straight, no blockages. Else you should get a service person to check and adjust the timing.
Got the non plumbed one, occasionally the water to the tray seems to cause air bubbles in the drinking water outlet too I.e. water comes out then air bubble so no water then water starts again but pump going the whole time
Danny Boy I've been told there is a method of resetting the ice maker/water dispenser to fluch all air out the system but can't find out how. Anyone got any ideas?
I fill the tray with vinegar let soak awhile then soak up the vinegar with a towel and wipe the Tray inside. Mine got yellow with hard water and limescale buildup. This was done when I’m cleaning out the entire fridge
You when you connect water and plug in your refrigerator for the first time, you should run the water to get rid of the carbon inside the water filter to release the loose carbon that is safe for digestion but it best to be disposed of before using the ice maker. However you have nothing to worry about until you change your water filter next time. Just run the water dispenser fir a couple if minutes!
For me this is a big MISTAKE of LG.Whay i have to search on internet to find this out ?!? In my opinion i put some stiker with QR code in fridge to redirect me to user manual....Simple and smart !
A hole is indeed also possible. If you get no response after pressing and holding the switch in the hole (use a paperclip or similar) you may also want to check if the ice maker is switched on, either from the display or a physical switch on the appliance (depending on your model).
Dear Fiona. All LG ice makers can be turned on/off, just not always the same way. Some ice makers have a hard switch on the ice maker itself, some a button on the display.
Hi, my ice machine isn't working. I'm stoned and I need chilled juice. LG is suppose to mean Life's Good.. Life isn't good when you're blazed and want some cool pop.
Ive had ice cubes get themselves stuck 3 times within the first month of owning a fridge with this dispenser. They get stuck when the tray is rotating back. Apparently that stop arm is shit. Then they proceed to bend the tray and all dispensed water flies everywhere within the ice bucket and out the front. 1 month old. Never buy LG. Luckily I live in Denmark so they can proceed to have fun with me enforcing my right to 2 years warranty mandated by law. The first year they have to prove it’s not a manifacturing defect.
One picture is not worth a thousand words!, Did I see white lever on top right that senses the level of ice, and maybe need to be moved down to where the ice may be, Like my old Kenmore.
Hi. Is this part replaceable? My tray got stuck trying to expel ice and the half circle arm on the right completely broke off. The machine is less than 2 years old. Help 🥹
