@@ntc5946 ugh there must be guy like you who just had to say that huh, who gives a fuck about the last gamer this is LGR baby... Quality, not quantity.
This brings me back to when I was 14 and my dad would take me to Best Buy to pick out a computer game. I love steam but man did it kill the Best Buy pc game aisles.
WOW! I have around 1600 PC GAMES collected , but only 300+ with BigBoxes. I see a lot of rare boxes ..rly amazing collection. Maybe in my country We have not so much games like in USA , but I hope during couple years I'll collect more ;) Can you tell more about your system of sorting boxes ? The most beautiful games are those in 5"25 inc discs. Old boxes are magic and old manuals are awesome :)
Man I'm glad to see you appreciate these older games that are long forgotten, we get them in our store from time to time and I have to put a couple bucks on them and find a spot on the shelf for them. Every once in awhile somebody comes in and picks a few up, I agree with you on the older sports games too, the Golf and Baseball ones were pretty amazing just because the amount of statistics, etc. they could keep track of even back then was pretty mind blowing. The books with them are always huge too, even on things like the Genesis.
DUDE , DUUUUUDE, I just came across this channel and this was like returning to my childhood years. I used to have quite a lot of these lovely big box game, when I get some , usually one or two on christmas I used to carry them with me over everywhere and reading through manuals and what was on the game boxes and so on, because I couldnt play them yet, as I did not have a PC that could run them. I shed multiple nostalgic tears when watching this video, thank you very much. I wish I could see this Wonderful collection in person. You have no idea how incredibly lucky you are that you can have these on your shelves I also wanted to see all of the games indivdually browsed from back to front at least, would be cool
2:52 Holy crap, NBA Inside Drive 2000. That one has Ray Allen on the cover, yeah? I bought that during All-Star Weekend in 2000--I was a kid and the All-Star game was in my hometown of Oakland that year. In the tent that game looked like the coolest thing in the world, and it was pretty cool playing it on my eMachines desktop when I got home too. Thanks for the flashback, LGR.
Good old times....there was a lot of production on these boxes....I remember the excitement when opening the Myst series boxes ....there was plenty of surprises inside them...the Exile box came with a metal figure of some kind of rabbit :)
I tend to be a bit of a minimalist at heart so I just wanted to say thanks for doing what you do. It's really cool seeing so many physical copies of these games.
Please do more Big Box content / reviews. Really need more of this in my life! Thank you for all your amazing content which has absolutely made a positive and amazing contribution to my life in the last few years!! THANK YOU !!
The Win95 sound sent chills down my spine, I haven't heard it in years. Now I'm trying to remember the name of some Leonardo DaVinci game I played in 8th grade...
So effing awesome! I just unboxed by old school box of boxes that I've had stored for 25years. I am SOOO glad I saved all that and so much thanks to my mom for letting me keep it in a loft! The waves and waves of nostalgia I got from just going through what I saved...indescribable. I can remember buying and specifically playing nearly each one of the games. While not nearly as impressive as yours, I can't wait to setup my museum.
wow, this is a genuinely impressive display. i love seeing all the Sierra logos. I've got two large totes filled to the brim with my (original) PC games, boxes, and manuals from 1993-2010 and i thought THAT was a lot.
It's straight-up surreal to see my old Trespasser box on your shelf. Freakin' amazing. I'm glad it's got a good home after sitting in some box in my basement for 10 years.
"Hey guys just in my storage locker with my newly bought windows 95 pc, but you know what I like better than materialistic things? Knowledge! In Fact I'm a lot more proud of these 7 new bookshelves I had to get put in to hold my Big Box Pc games."
Like your collection LGR. Hopefully I can find some of those games. Sometimes, after I watch your videos, I find the game I was just watching in a thrift store.
Logic quest! I’ve been trying to remember the name of that game for years! Thanks for showing it. Also peppers adventures in time was amazing! I’m glad a finally got a peak of that on this channel too
8:50 Text Adventures/Interactive Fiction grouping is a no brainer for some of the games in that section: Ya got Time & Magic, and quite a few Infocom games just sitting there.
Beautiful, this is what a dream feels like when you're back in the past looking through games in a store. Makes me feel guilty that I threw away a lot of my boxes, they just took up so much space. If I was wiser at the time I guess I could've sold them, but I still wanted to keep the games haha.
Came for the Sierra collection and specifically Jones in the fast lane. Was not disappointed. Well, a little disappointed you don't have the original Hero's Quest before they changed the named.
Whiplash (I know it with the name Fatal Racing), this one, was one great game, with so many memories.. You made my heart beat faster making me remember all these games... Midtown Madness, Monster Truck Madness 2, NFS3, POD, Rally Championship, Theme Hospital.... OMG.. Sooo many games there have so much memories in my childhood.. I NEED THOSE GAMES AGAIN!!! LGR please tell GOG guys to have much more games like these in their libraries.. Great collection and congratulations! Thanks for collecting and showing stuff like these to us.. Keep up the great work man!
It took me forever to watch this video. Every time i saw a game i'd totally forgotten about i'd have to go take a youtube trip down memory lane. So many good games.
I can't even count the 100's of hours I played Rocket Jockey when I was a teen. It was a true hidden gem , and no one I have ever talked to has ever even heard of it! you made my day good sir ! Also I bought max payne on release and I still have and use that same mousepad to this day haha!
This is such a cool video. It really takes me back to spending as much time as I could checking out the big box games in Electronics Express as a kid. This collection is amazing - it's more diverse than that store's whole inventory. So many memories! Also... dat Filco. Very nice.
5:48 oh my. OH MY. THANK YOU SO MUCH CLINT! I remember playing a demo of Lode Runner 2 on a compilation CD ages ago. Recently, I tried to remember what the name of the game was, with no success: I knew it was from 1998-2000, it was in isometric view, possibily a "puzzle" game, but no more. I searched for it and tried every stupid word combination that came into my mind. Nothing. And now, out of absolutely nowhere, I notice a box in this shot with a character that is strangely familiar, read the title, something clicks in my brain and *BAM* _finally found it!_ I'm so glad Clint, thank you from the bottom of my heart
So, just to confirm.. the only Sonic related big-box titles in your PC collection are: Sonic & Garfield Activity pack Schoolhouse Sonic R I did pm you asking about Sonic big-box games a while back but I guess you get inundated with messages. Yes, I'm a sonic collector, I know its whatever, I have most of the console variants in most regions, but I've seen a few interesting big-boxes pop up on eBay and I knew you'd be the best person to ask about PC stuff.
I know you are a PC guy, but will you do a video tour on your console and console game collection? you collected many many console games only on Thrifts, I'm really curious about that.
Amazing collection! I'm not a big pc gamer myself but i do appreciate the time and effort that goes into building a collection like this. Great video man.
This is impressive man! Reminded me of my childhood going into my local pc shop and I would just look at every game on the shelf forever till my mom got annoyed and was ready to leave lol
I got Atomic Age on the coverdisk of a UK magazine way back, never seen any mention of it online or elseware until I saw it in LGR`S collection. Maybe I should upload it somewhere if its rare and of interest to anyone.
Your channel name is Lazy Game Reviews but your videos are never done lazily tbh :) Been watching your videos lately and having lots of fun, just finished your thrifting videos. Thank you for creating awesome content!
You must have an amazing amount of space in your house, I mean, that room even has the space for another shelf running along the middle if you ever needed that much space. Maybe you should come up with your own Dewey Decimal system for all this.
This collection is not on his house, it's on seperate place. Business storage type solution if I recall right. He explained this on one of his vlog type videos, where he talked about how he separates his home from his work etc.
Glad to see you owning Spellcraft's big box. That's my favorite game of all time, even beyond DOS titles. Your collection is massive compared to mine. And I'm ok with that, lol. Mine just fill up a bookcase that I use as a backdrop for my own videos. That must be quite the feeling to have people donate boxes to you. Well deserved. Can't wait to watch potential videos on the rest of these games here. Thanks for sharing the collection. Looks great!
I said this in one of your last game/room tours, but honestly.... #Goals x10. Also, the moment I saw that screen saver it brought my back to grade school detention watching the computer screens for something to do so I didn't fall asleep LOL. You have a sweet set up dude, would love to see your other DVD case game collection one day! :)
alright... alright already, Clint. You did it. You convinced me. I'm gonna start collecting too.. I can't resist the awesomeness of looking at this anymore, haha! THIS IS SUCH AN AWESOME COLLECTION O_O
Blisphul808 I don't know what game named Detroit you are referring to. However, I was referring to the old Sierra MS DOS game, that is very similar to a modern game named GearCity.
"Ultima--gotta have that." I'm incredibly glad to see that your sense of completeness is not so over-riding that you'll allow a copy of Ultima IX into your collection, though! :)
Possibly the most elusive/valuable is Space Taxi. I got extremely lucky and found it while thrifting once in Illinois, so you might say it wasn't exactly "hard" to get in that case. One I've probably spent a silly amount of time looking for was Vinyl Goddess From Mars, and even then I still haven't seen an American release and I only found one in Germany!
I love those big box pc games. Back in the early 90s when i was a 24/7 gamer me and my older bro had hundreds of them between us, sadly a lot of them got sold off, I've started collecting them again what will building a retro pc like i had back in the day, yea sure you can download 1000s through torrents with doxbox packages but there is nothing like owning the real game...a physical copy and the smell of the 90s as you flick through the manuals, good days.
Pod! I remember that we got it bundled with a 200MHz Olivetti PC in about 1997. Great fun. Got quite good at the single player eventually. I played many, many hours of that... nice to see it!
So, if you remember some time ago when I asked about a certain game that I can't find anymore in one of your videos? I said something about 2 letter W's on a CD? Well, in the game, it also had it on some walls too. The game is called, "The Day The World Broke". Now I just gotta find a CD and play it! No seriously, this Collection Room Tour unintentionally helped me find the game I was trying to find all these years. Thanks for the tour!
pretty sure you represented every wonderful retro PC game I could have thought of in this game... well, except populous the beginning which was absent from the bullfrog collection. wish I still had my box.
This is making me super nostalgic for all the computer games I played during my childhood and I now also realize that most of the computer games I had were edutainment games.
Thanks for sharing! I was very happy to see Sierra & MicroProse well represented. Those were the backbone of my childhood gaming. Please do a review of the MechWarrior & MechCommander games!
omg putt-putt, freddi fish and jump start (and also pajama sam, battlefield 1942 & duke nukem) were my childhood until the sims came out. I've never seen them referenced anywhere else before. Brings back fond memories
My heart fluttered a bit when ya got to the SSI games. Good memories of playing those D&D games plus Might and Magic. I wish I could play some of those with some "In Through the Out Door" blaring on a boom box. Good times!
Damn, this collections must worth a fortune. So many great games, like Blood, Shogo MAD, Chasm - The Rift... I recognize a lot of games I loved or loved to play back then. Sweet collection. Leisure Suit Larry, Scorcher, Zak McKraken...
OMG! Assassin 2015! jajaja I still have my copy of the game, wich an uncle of mine who used to live in the US bring to México and give it to me when I was a child after notice that the game was the sole reason I keep pushing my father into visiting him every weekend hahaha, thanks for the memories, sorry for the bad english, and greetings from México, I really enjoy your videos mostly because for things like this.
