Nothing that a good vocal coach can't fix, really. He has great talent, but his fundamentals were terrible for long-term use. Just had to change his approach to get it back.
Liam sounds even better now in 2020.. He's coming on strong lately, carving out a legit latter year comeback for himself. Makes me so happy to see him looking well and hear him sounding great again.
@Walt Coyle I mean Noel has a more traditional voice that can belt as well, but for a song like Columbia he was never as good as even a 2001 Liam at the Barrowlands. I'd asy he's irreplaceable as the other half of Oasis songs of course, but man it's not that hard to find a decent singer who can crush it at guitar.
The lyrics are dog shit infact alot of Noel's lyrics are but the tunes where always great, I actually think Liam is better lyrically. Roll With It is a classic pop/rock anthem regardless of lyrically credibility!
The is probably the best Liam has sung this song since Glastonbury 1995. All of those little vocal inflections from the album version are in there, which to me arguably make the song, or certainly elevate it.
@@tzhou226 Yeah I see your point, He or NO ONE will ever touch Liam at his peak 1994-97 but this here is very good considering the circumstances. Compared to most of the DBBT and DOYS -tours, he's actually finishing his lines and hitting the notes (apart from few of the high ones) and lacks no attitude at all.
It is without a doubt better than 2006-2009 period of Oasis but it is still miles away from 94-97 or even his early 00's voice. I mean just check oasis jools holland 2000/wembley/rock in rio 01 and if you think it sounds close then you might wanna check your ears with a doctor. Its like comparing Andy Carroll to C.Ronaldo. I think he sounded a lot fresher in 2017 especially on Bold. It is still the beginning of the tour and lets hope his voice holds up! He's still very nasaled..he could get a sinus surgery..i think he would improve a lot after that. good enough for an Oasis reunion though :D
I know people will think i'm a hater or a Noely G fanboy cause of my comment but i'm just being realistic. I will always enjoy Liam on stage and i do think this is a good performance. But comparing this to 2000 is delusional

Agreeing with Foo Ed here. At least it would have a bit more balls. So to speak. That and the Beckham jersey are the only things wrong with this vid. In my opinion.

He has improved a lot. Not long ago he could hardly breathe. Maybe he is the only artist of this caliber who has made a comeback. At some point, I thought he had lost his voice forever.
He destroyed his voice through his bad technique and left it too late to repair it. However, he sounds as good as he's sounded since about 2005, minus a few of the higher notes.
I know... hahaha I think Liam hold on too good... I would smack that asshole holding the sign, that way Oasis reunion is never gonna happen haha... I mean, Liam is not calm boy, he is keeping the oasis theme alive, Noel is the onr ruin the reunion, if there is ever an Oasis reunion, Liam is the one to thank

Adam Knight is you listen to the two of them they sound pretty much the same except Liam has more power in his voice back in 2000. That’s gonna happen after over 20+ years on the road though. No one would’ve expected to see a performance like this from Liam a few years ago it’s great to see the man back where he belongs.
If people think he is not as good as the early 00's go and listen to his 2004 glasto 'performance', it's awful. He is miles better now than then. Trust me, I was at Wembley 2000, Glasto 2004, Manchester 2005 and he is better now than all those. He's in great shape. Enjoy him.
