I just returned from Israel and I witnessed exactly what you spoke of in this video. the people, both Hebrew and Arab, seemed to want peace. I worked with both and the only difference was the language they spoke. it's a beautiful land that has even more beautiful people.

Visited Israel about a year ago. The food was great, the weather was beautiful, and the people were friendly. Couldn’t really complain about much except construction projects in Tel Aviv snarled traffic and the transportation system is outdated in some areas. Look forward to visiting again and would recommend it to anybody.

I agree with what was said here. But the West Bank is not occupied. It is disputed, like Kashmir or the Western Sahara. Yes, it was through defense and self preservation that Israel captured the West Bank, but it was from Jordan, Which was never the legal sovereign there in the first place. So one could make the argument that settlements do not violate international law, not that international law means anything anyway. It’s no mystery what would happen if Israel were to withdraw from the West Bank. It would just be used, like Gaza as a base to launch terror attacks on Israel. The PLO was formed in 1964, three years before the capture of Gaza and the West Bank, which should serve as an indication that they don’t merely want the West Bank and Gaza Strip, but they want Israel destroyed entirely. I used to be critical of Israel, but I’ve come to see that no matter what painful concessions they may make, the Arabs will never recognize their right the exist.

There are no "settlements" in the Gaza strip. Do your research what israel has suffered from their violent neighbors since it gave the strip 100% to the Arabs there.

That is an oil town (albeit a big one). When the oil runs out, Dubai will merge back into the desert from where it sprung.

On the note of Israel having lower socio-economic status for Arabs than for jews, one might add that Arabs have a higher median income in Israel than in most of the Arab world. Inequality of outcome does not necessitate that (unmeritocratic) discrimination has taken place.

The thing that always amazes me about the Israeli/Palestine situation is how it is generally depicted in the Media. I only recently discovered the history of the conflict & how the Palestinians have constantly rejected peace with any prospect of a 2 Nation deal out of hand. Israel is continually portrayed as the aggressor, even though the Israeli Govt & the UN have offered Palestine an independent state of their own, with much of Jerusalem as it's Capital many times now, yet each time the offer has been rejected by the Palestinians who have vowed to drive the Jews into the sea via a river of Jewish blood! How do they genuinely believe this to be an achievable goal? One might find their actions easier to understand if they were coming from a position of power but given the circumstances their refusal to accept the terms on offer & continued pursuit of such goals are quite frankly preposterous. Their war is unwinnable & their aims are unattainable!

The most populous Muslim county is Indonesia, not in the Middle East. Indonesia is much more liberal and peaceful than any countries in the Middle East.

The fact that a country is progressive or democratic with regards to its own citizens gives it no excuse whatsoever to violate international law, nor any excuse to invade surrounding territories. This applies not only to Israel, but to all nations. It is not improper or unreasonable to demand that Israeli foreign policy be changed to reflect the agreements and customs to which other developed democracies adhere to.

That's great Israel should continue to lead by example, but settlement expansion will stifle any chance of peace and the dome of the rock not being in a state of of Muslim governance will continue to be the main issue in fervent opposition to Israel by it's neighbours. But Israel has won and won again the choice of whether settlement expansion continues and a definitive Palestinian states access and control of the dome of the rock is Israels choice alone. Solving these 2 core issues would defuse the now ingrained hatred felt by not just Arabs but most Muslims, I hope.
