I hiked those trails for years until I moved. The most dangerous animal I ran in to was a human with an aggressive dog off the leash. That happened more than once.

@@nwmod39 Quite a few otters in the lake I think. Just got a report of one recently at the boat docks at the condos, and every year it seems folks post photos of otters eating on the beach!
July 10, 2022 UPDATE: Several hikers and runners have encountered the mother and two cubs near the top of Edith Hansen trail. The cubs are substantially larger now, and the mother has false charged and woofed at folks during those encounters. Stay noisy out there!
