Trying out a new organization method for my kids' toys, inspired by a trip to the library! I took almost all the toys out of their room and moved them somewhere else to start a sort of toy library in our own home. It feels so much better having all of that out of their closet!

Hi ! You got alot done. I use to pack toys in bins and switch bins , every other week .The kids played with them alot more . Yall have a good weekend ❤ 🌻

@@MommyEtc my grandchildren have 2 playrooms at my house a girl one and a boy one. I have decluttered but they still make a huge mess and don’t really “ play” with most of the toys. Going to do this. They all go back to school on August 16th, so then it will be after school care, but having 7 ,even for 3 hours is still enough for them to make a huge mess! I’m like you,I am a clean freak, so it drives me nuts and causes my anxiety to soar! Thanks again! 💗

I like that idea of a toy library I think that will work really well for you. My son just dumps out every toy bin in his room and doesn't seem like he even plays with them just likes to make a mess. If I had the room I'd totally do that!

🌻🌻🌻 This is a good idea. I don’t think I have the self discipline to put the toys away and keep track of the library though. BUT I do think I’ll give my girls a shelf in the storage closet for stuff they don’t want the baby to get into.

that's going to be the hard part, putting the toys away when they ask for them and making sure they don't pile up. But the toys are in the basement and I go down there multiple times a day anyway, so I figure I can just grab them when I go down and put them back away. But we'll see how it all works out!

Nice job on organization it looks really good 👍! I always hated when my children would argue when they were in quite time,because the things I needed to get done would always have to wait 🤷‍♀️😊. If they had their own rooms it would solve that problem, but alas, they don’t! Maybe when I get the basement done Chase can do quiet time down there. And thank you, glad you enjoyed. You have a great weekend, too!

Great job! And a really good idea. Kids just don't need tons of toys - they only play with a couple at a time and just throw the rest around lol! I have a question - where did you get the light in the boys' closet. I assume it has a sensor because it came on when you opened the door. The one I have I have to turn it on and then of course forget to turn it off! And then the battery dies. I'd like to have one like yours for sure!

It’s so true…all the toys and they just want to play Minecraft most of the time. My mom got the light on Amazon! It just sticks on, and yes it’s motion activated.

It’s been working pretty well! I think them having a time when they know it’s going to end and the light will come on really helps them.

Well when they are teens they have to clean it themselves, so if they want to clean around a messy room and make their life harder, they can keep it messy then! 🤣 I’ll just close the door.

I don’t know… my teen has WAY less stuff than my 7 year old. The older they get the more they’re into smaller toys with less pieces or tech stuff.

The overwhelm of having too much stuff really messes with me. I dont know how you do it, that is a fair amount of toys. Do you plan to donate and get things out of your house?

Yeah there really is too much. I need to make room for Christmas lol. I think I will probably donate some closer to then, whatever really doesn’t get played with. I think sometimes I hold onto things because I think it’s a really nice toy lol and I’m holding onto hope it will get played with. 😅

It might be worth trying telling them that you won't start the clock for quiet time until they're actually quiet. Maybe knowing that they'll only be up there longer when they fight will put them off fighting, especially if they see Madison able to come down before them because she was quiet before they were. I normally prefer to use encouragement to discipline children, but there are some situations when they need to experience natural consequences for their behaviour.

I’m a fan of natural consequences too, and so that’s a good idea. They need to learn how to be a in room together and do their own things and not fight.
