I live in Quitman, GA. Joined the Air Force in 1989 and separated in 1993. Was stationed at F.E. Warren AFB, Cheyenne, WY, then Osan AB, Republic of Korea, then Cheyenne Mountain AFB located in Colorado Springs, CO. Joined the Reserves in 1998 and separated in 2004 and was assigned to Homestead ARS in South Florida. Those were some of the best years of my life and I never regret enlisting. Basic was tough but when you get through it, the job I had was fantastic. I was a member of the Security Forces. Thank you for making this video. It brought back a lot of memories. Thank you for your service.
I served in the Marines back in the late 80s and early 90s. I remember when we finished up at the Island it was school. And at school you were your own person. After hours that is. You could leave the base, go out, do whatever. It wasn't bad at all.
Thank you girl!! & I feel you, I was the exact saaame way before shipping…just remember it’ll be worth it in the end when bmt gets hard cause girl! & that’s a lil minute..what is your job?
Thank you for creating this content on your journey! I'm in DEP with the Air Force now so I'm at the very beginning of mine but it's good to know what awaits ahead!
My recruiter just informed me that he has this job reserved for me! I’m just waiting for them to make sure all my qualifications check out and then I’ll sign the contract. I would love to know more about this job. Thank you for any help.
Make sure you want to do that job. Don’t just take the job just cause your recruiter said it’s open so what you want and love so your career in the AF will be a smooth and good one
When I was in the Army, it was of general consensus among all the branches of service that the Air force had the most beautiful ladies. "Ladies and gentlemen, I present Alisa Nicole as Exhibit A.......B...C..and D"
Can you do a natural makeup tutorial/grwm? 😍. I’m shipping out to bmt soon and I only wear makeup on occasions, BUT I’ve always had a makeup artist to do so. Don’t know what I’m going to do when I get to my first duty station and there’s no one around to do me up when I need it.
how did you manage your hair during basic training? can you use leave in conditioner and oils? what about skin care and moisturizer and sunscreen? I have thick curly hair, i need more than 3 min to wash it. will i be able to wash and detangle my hair ? i’m scared of not being able to do my basic hygiene
I leave next week on 27th, and I don’t know what to do with all of my clothes from home. Should I pack them up and just wait till I can get to them or sell/give away them all and buy new ones when I can?
Awl man I’m a day late🥴 well you’ll see this when you graduate lol…but congratulations, good luck 🍀 & you got this!! I gave away clothes that I didn’t wear & packed whatever I had left over so they could just get shipped to me when I got to tech school.
So after bootcamp/graduation do you immediately leave to your tech school or are you allotted a certain amount of time you can leave the base, go out for dinner, etc.
most people (who were vaccinated) got the option to go off base w their family and eat dinner or whatever, but we had to be back by 6. and then the majority of my flight left the next day (on friday)
When I was there we went straight to our next base the following day for tech school I believe it’s changed now to where you have a few hours with your family & have to be back by a certain time
You’ll be fine!!! Just find something every day to keep you motivated to keep going…& remember that bmt is nothing like the real Air Force so you’ll have something a lot better to look forward to.
@@j.alv2 we'll just read it and realize you are man. I'm a girl so I don't know I feel like no matter if you're a girl or a boy you get picked on for being smaller
What's your height? I suggest workout now if you want to pack on some size if you want to join the military someday, prefferably do some weights and mix in some calisthenics
I just seen an Air Force girl in the town i live in and she was a damn knockout... I think she must be the one i been getting ill toward. If i had known how much of a knockout she was or had been reminded of the good in the military, just through them showing up and replenishing my mind and faith. If i had known what kind of knockout she was... Shit idk why i was getting ill. Affiliated personally with her and i could make a shit ton of progress in life.
It really depends on the base your tech school is at…When I was at my first part of tech school at Keesler we had roommates..no kitchen or anything just a microwave & mini fridge…so it just depends…If you know your AFSC & where your tech school is going to be you can look up how their dorms are set up. They usually have the single bedroom dorms with a shared kitchen & common areas reserved for permanent party
My recruiter told me the same thing but I definitely over packed so they were on my ass when we had to dump everything & let them look through our stuff😅. I had three bags so I would recommend the least amount of stuff as possible…so just one bag..plus you’ll be getting a backpack full of items as soon as you get there so that bag would be added to your bag amount…You’re also limited to 3 bags that they cover at the end of bmt when they ship you off to your tech school..so you’ll have the first big black backpack that they give you, the green duffel bag that you’ll eventually get and one of your civilian bags by the end of BMT.
Oh ok , my sergeant told me we only have to do 7.5 but it might change cause COVID is a lot more calmed down then it was a few months ago and thanks for the luck
To sum it up, It’s basically planning & executing air missions…it’s so many different positions within the career field so it’s kind of hard to explain in detail, but you start off as an ST which is a surveillance technician. You help the WD (Weapons Director) by IDing aircraft to make sure they aren’t hostile & whatever else they need you to do. So it’s one of those jobs where you’ll be in front of a whole bunch of computer monitors
lol you mean tech school 😆yeah you're definitely not space force lol If you were you would have the insignia on lol. How did you let him trick you on that one? Well at least Luke is not your assigned base. That would be too hot to stay there for 3 years lol.
