Showering, shaving, pooping... I get into all of it.
I wanted to make this video to help alleviate some of the anxiety or worry you may have about basic training.
Side Note: These are the period underwear I recommend you bring to basic training! I personally own these and wish they were around when I went through BMT.

Hello lovely! I have an important question. Do They really yell at you? I am sensitive but I’ve been working on that tremendously and making efforts too! If they yell at you what should you do or say ? Or you just stand there and let them? This year is my last in high-school and My heart is dying to join the air force but I’m also very scared. Im sensitive, I have a quiet voice also. Can you help me ease my mind? Im willing to try but just want an honest review of how it’ll actually be. Thank you !!

@@diamondmoss2768 they yell but they aren’t allowed to cuss at you or call you demeaning things. The only thing they can do is be like “why would you do that” or “that was a stupid thing to do” but they can’t directly call you things and be like “you’re stupid” or anything. As long as you follow instructions you should be fine. They aren’t going to yell at you specifically unless you do something wrong or don’t listen to instructions. They will call you out if you’re not marching right in formation and stuff but just take it as constructive criticism, it’s really not bad. They will yell at the flight for not making timelines or not making beds properly and stuff but you win and lose as a team. At BMT you are no longer an individual, you’re part of a team. They are taking away all of your individuality in order to instill a team mentality and then once you’re operational, you get to have you individuality while also having that team based mindset

In terms of dealing with, “drama” just remind yourself of this: there is an extremely rare chance that you will ever see any of these people in your regular military career after graduation. So, “losing face” is not a thing if you lose an argument or back down or walk away from a situation that you would normally engage in. So, even though you may feel like you “lost” an argument, it won’t matter as you’ll most likely never see these people again. So don’t worry about just walking away worrying about what THEY feel about you.

I left for BMT on 22 Aug 1989. Your experience at BMT is predicated 100% on the personality of your MTI. My MTI was SSgt Ernie Serrato. He was 100% hardcore 100% of the time. My flight never received a single liberty the entire time. Hell, not a single person in my flight ever went to chapel services in fear of reprisal. We would spend all day Sunday ensuring the dorm was up to our MTI’s standards. BMT is 100% what you make it to be. You will make some great friends. You will meet some really interesting people. You may even meet a person of the opposite sex whom you end up dating (happened to me!). You will have good days and bad days. You will have memories that will still make you laugh 30 years later. The one thing about BMT no one talks about is, you will have something in common with every person whom you ever meet in the USAF. Everyone you meet in the USAF has been through BMT. At BMT, do what you are told, exactly how you are instructed, as quickly as you can, and with attention to detail. The days go by slow but the weeks go by fast. Live each day from chow to chow. Arrive at BMT in shape. Aim high!

A lot has changed since then, but a lot hasn't. I made friends with a couple women that were also going through it around the same time I was. Many of the things that you mentioned that could be unisex fit. The barracks I used when I went through no longer exist. They had been built back during WW2 and the Korean war. GI parties were the norm for us. Take care, and I hope you enjoy your time in the service like I did.

Later on, people will start talking in the shower or singing or both lol. You can still shave and take a shower how you normally would at home, you just have to rush. Very good informational video. I know you are explaining from a girl's perspective. I joined the Army in 1987 at an older age and I wish I had more than just my recruiters opinion to go off of. Much of what you explain although keyed to girls, is the same with guys, and much was exactly my experience. At one time, I was interested in attending the Air Force Academy, but life changed my opportunities. Although accepted for Army OCS, I did not get to go. I took an enlisted spot repairing radars in West Germany. Regardless, I have to say that the Army was the greatest experience of my life. You will have a rewarding time in the Air Force. Keep inspiring our upcoming personnel.

Let me provide everyone out there with some free information (not legal advice). One one gets into the active AF proper (after tech school). There will be plenty of men out there to help you into everything you don't need or want. However, there will be a few guys who will take you under their wing and help you. Do not betray these people! They will not want a single thing from you except loyalty and hard work. Mentors are hard to come by but they are out there. Remember that many men have "ego" issues and will try to fool you into going along with them and destroying another's career. Don't fall for it. People will sell their soul for very little. Don't fall for it. No one has absolute power unless you give it to them. Once a career is destroyed, it can not be rebuilt. Good luck. Get all of the formal education you can while you can. Time will surprise you if you don't use it wisely.

If you have a prescription for a certain facial cleanser you will have to bring a prescription paper, otherwise, a gentle cleanser is fine to bring, but I recommend a small travel size* bottle of the cleanser as by the third weekend of training at the latest you'll have your first trip to the mini mall or BX and there they sell facial cleaners. However if there's a specific brand you want to use then bring the bottle since they have limited options, mainly Clean and Clear or Neutrogena, to pick from. *If you bring travel size shampoo, body wash, conditioner, cleaners, etc it must be in the original packaging. It is prohibited to use travel containers so they will be required to be packed back into civie luggage or be thrown out. ** Secondly, travel size anything isn't typically necessary as they give you a full size 2-and-1 shampoo, body wash, a loofah, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, and towels. Some flights get 3-and-1 hair and bodywash, especially the brother flights since it's usually Old Spice. Shaving products will have to be brought with as a female, not sure how it is for males since they're required to shave everymorning, but be mindful as time makes it difficult to shave and the showers aren't the most sanitary, so most recommend that you don't shave at all to avoid infections. If you choose to enlist or have already done so, best of luck with your air force career. I graduated basic nearly eight months ago.

@@amvi6402 Good luck! You get out of it what you put into it, and your MTIs will accept nothing but 100% from you and your flight all day everyday. Be a good team player, help out your fellow wingman when necessary (you'll be surprised how many things are turned into 2 person tasks, and you can't go anywhere alone either), and do not fall asleep, I repeat, do not fall asleep, the consequences are not pretty. Don't be up after lights out either unless you're using the bathroom (not writing letters or talking in there, or brushing your teeth or doing your hair since those activities are only permitted during personal time or hygiene times, but actually "utilizing the latrine")... both of these things are reasons why my flight got smoked at one point or another. Otherwise, practice your drill movements and get down as much of your memory work as possible in the days leading up to shipping on the aim high app, of which your recruiter should've asked you todownload. As silly as it sounds, remember your reporting statement, "Sergeant, trainee ____ reports as ordered", or if they're an officer, "Sir/ma'am, rank of officer, trainee ____ reports as ordered". I'll give you tips for chow running in case they pick you for that too: Typical script: "Sergeant/sir/ma'am, trainee ___ reports as ordered, sergeant, flight ###, dorm ## is prepared to enter the dining facility from (whichever side you're on)." Then you repeat whatever they say like; "Bring my flight in, yes Sergeant, thank you Sergeant", or "follow brother/sister flight, yes Sergeant, thank you Sergeant" Similar idea for seating the flight: "Sergeant, trainee ____ reports as ordered, sergeant, the first trainee from flight ###, dorm ## has entered the dining facility from the (whatever side)." Then follow with repeating whatever they say, usually: "Seat my flight, yes Sergeant, thank you Sergeant." Or "seat them with excellence, yes Sergeant, thank you Sergeant". A lot of what you're expected to say for things is a little weird looking back at it, or even in the moment, but it's better heading into this having somewhat of a clue of what's about to happen. Hopefully this gives you some insight of what to expect next week. Again, good luck, and this will be the most fun you'll never want to have again upon graduation, and yet you'll miss some stuff about it a few months later.

I was watching this video since I'm slowly eliminating the branches i want to do and basically everything I've heard in this video doesn't apply to ANY of the other branches especially with the Physical training stuff so if you can't do pushups or can't run at a decent pace join the Airforce because you will be singled out and yelled at in the other branches. From what I've heard the Marine corps also does the color belts to signify your PT level and you don't want to have a low level belt because the DI's will single you out and mess with you so much.

I think they allow these videos because it shows only like what people want, like marketing and propaganda to join. Oh well show the pretty girls 'after' they spent their whole day forced to like go through training or work out etc.. It makes it seem like it'll be simple and that you'll probably reap all the benefits, but really, even retail or lower level jobs piles up more $ than that, at least then you can like, decide something else too. Decided not to on the oath taking day, ended up getting a better job soon after, and it's full of mostly tricked 18 yr olds, I don't have that time anyway. A lot of people think it's for everyone and it will be easy, but you'll quickly find it isn't so desirable to be doing that work even just like a month in, at that point what can you do when you can't just leave easily? Unfortunately this means they look for mostly highschool recruits and also people more likely to not question or care yet because it takes years out of your life and may cause other issues; you tend to start awakening more and questioning work ethic and stuff around age like 24-25 I would say rather than conforming. They also don't talk about how you will be around basically a ton of recruits who are highschool or college age and you'll be given free food, free dorms, free physical training, and it won't be easy of course, but that is the perfect environment to just end up knocked up early; it could be either a blessing or a curse if you meet like a soulmate, but it's common for people in that environment to want to have sex especially since the conditions are 'free' and they are forbidden from doing it. Tons of things you should consider first and they try to make it seem like it's all going to be like easy times. But you might even be expelled from the process if you appear to be too like intelligent etc. as well, because they don't want whiners who aren't conformist to something that's obviously just dumb or being controlled and commanded by obviously not as smart peers, so, it again is not for everyone. I realized I really hated being told what to do already and the military would also likely make that a horrible experience. I'd probably end up killed/mismanaged just like how our propaganda praises all those who died doing something they were ordered to do and mostly praises those who were lucky to survive; I don't want to be that guy who like breaks leg running and then told 'oh its all mental, too bad you couldnt do it' and all that dumb faker stuff that actually happened to many female and male recruits. The fact they have such outdated tech today and also people who do stuff like that when it's not even like SF qualifiers says alot about how much they really care. I'd go on to literally get fit on my own time and the experience only motivated me to not want to join anything related to govt, unless it's a high paying like tech job or something that make sense. I can handle a weapon if needbe and do what I must anyway.

Thank you so much for this video, I want to join so bad, and I have been on and off about it. This video makes me feel more confident about joining. Honestly, the biggest thing that has been stopping me is honestly the shots, and bloodwork. I am not great with needles and have a tendency to pass out, not so much from shots anymore but from bloodwork it is still pretty common. I have mentioned it to a few others who have been in and most have said probably not, but I think I would handle the bloodwork better if they did it from my hand rather than my arm. I tend to handle it better and not pass out that way. I just don't know if they would do that if I asked them to
@rutheblues4161
@rutheblues4161 2 года назад
Most of the shots are done pretty fast. The longest was probably the peanut butter shot, which took a little longer than most shots- but it’s done in the hip/thigh area, and the people who administer it are pretty nice about it. Plus, it hurts less than women for men. The people working at the BMT Med Group aren’t soulless and won’t force you to look at them giving you these shots, so if you’re able to get shots as long as you don’t look then you should be good. Having your blood drawn, I’m not necessarily sure if they do it in BMT- they might, but I do remember it being a MEPs thing. And you can talk to the doctors during it to distract yourself. I think they even ask if you’re afraid of needles beforehand too. In reality, as long as you don’t pass out from seeing needles or freak out too bad- you should still see a recruiter. Mention your concerns, they may be able to better guide you. (And for the love of god research the jobs before you choose one!)

Yahshua - you know Him as Jesus - was born to a virgin, turned water to wine, taught, healed the sick, raised the dead, casted out demons, walked on water, calmed the storm, and fed a crowd of thousands with a few fish and a few loaves of bread on two separate occasions, among many other things. He was killed on the cross as payment for the sins of all mankind, three days later He rose from the dead. Forty days later He ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father. He is returning very soon, but before He does, Satan, the devil, is coming to pretend to be Jesus/God (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4). Satan is an angel, and he will have certain supernatural powers with which to try to fool everyone. He will, for example, be able to make fire come down from heaven in the sight of men. He will only be on earth a short time before the real King of Kings, Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, returns. When the real Jesus comes we will all be transformed into our spiritual bodies at the same moment. Jesus came in the flesh to offer forgiveness of sins and eternal life to anyone who believes and calls on His precious name! if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. - Romans 10:9 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat. But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste? For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor. When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me. For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her. - Matthew 26:6-13 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.... To anoint your self, the sick, or a building for spiritual protection: Get a small bottle of olive oil and pour off a small amount into a smaller vessel like a vial or baby food jar. Use the rest of the bottle for cooking. Ask the Lord to bless your vial of oil in Jesus name. Anoint yourself with the oil by placing a dab of oil on tip of finger and touch it to your forehead, and ask the Lord to bless you/heal you. To anoint your home or other building: place a dab of oil on your finger and anoint the door posts and order all negativity and evil out of the house, and order that nothing negative or evil can enter into your home including piggybacking on a person entering, order it to be so in the name of Jesus. Anoint all potential entrances to your home. To anoint the sick: place oil on tip of finger and touch it to the head of the sick and say a prayer of healing over them in Jesus name. See James Chapter 5:14-15........,....

thank you so much for this video it really helped. im a junior who is planning on joining the air force once i graduate. my biggest concern is bad menstrual cramps that prevent me from doing everyday things. it causes nausea, fever, and so much more. what can i do for that?

In the days leading up to period eat a bit more and take pain meds a bit early. I have the same. Good question, I wonder too how pain meds are in BMT.
