Good video. Loved the info on whaling and seeing the culture involved with the community. Considering the almost 100% utilization of the whale it’s great to see responsible fishing.
looks like the hound dog is ready for some serious sailing, sunglasses and life jacket, love it. Nice to see you take the time to find the local stories, they are everywhere if you take the time to find them, and you two do, its makes for an interesting watch. They are appreciated and certainly enjoyed, take care
So about 400 EC (150 USD) a day to feed the Turtles pretty cool. I am not a fan of commercial whaling but it was nice to learn the islanders hunt the whale and it gets consumed by the local population with enough sold (or donations) to cover the expenses spent and to take one using traditional methods as opposed to making a ton of money of the practice. Great snorkeling footage! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for another wonderful video you two. Oona definitely has the cool look down and she is getting really laid back. Wonderful work they are doing with the turtles. Many people never come in contact with the cultural traditions of the places they visit and often don't understand them. It's nice your are making the effort to understand them. While whaling is not something we want to see on the same scale as it was before it was banned, we also have to remember that for the islands that practiced it, it was a major food source and today in some places it may still be. Not everyone lives near a Walmart or Safeway store and they still have to provide for themselves. Thanks again and have a great week ahead.
I tell you what... you two are quickly becoming my fav to watch. Don’t know if it’s because you are living a life I dream of... it just the content and great couple. My guess is it’s probably both!! I wish I could help fund you two but not in a great position as I lost my home, vehicle and everything I own in a flood a couple years ago and still trying to fully recover and get out of the debts of rebuilding our lives and home. Keep them coming and thank you for sharing your lives with us.
I LOVE Bequia. I spent 9 months on the island in 1980 when Bob Dylan owned his schooner - Water Pearl - built on Bequia. I sailed on her from Bequia to Antigua. Those were the days. How the island has changed. Glad to hear that Mac’s is still there, though location has changed. You MUST go there for pizza! Hope you have more footage of the island. ❤️
So enjoyed this one. Una seemed content and happy. Glad the AC was on. The traditions are sometimes hard to understand. Loved the baby turtles. Until our adventures cross, fair winds and full sails. Jack and Billie never2old adventures
...like the new intro... especially the opening shot of Brandy floating in the water (0:09)... Oh My.... Such a great artistic shot... not to mention... ....Hot!!!...Very Nice!
As I have gone through your videos catching up from the beginning...I recall a little while back you got the AC. (seems like you had one early on at the dock and ditched it later). So there was no info on what it is you bought....how it is mounted....what sort of power draw on your batteries....how long it can run....etc. Inquiring minds want to know....haha
In the old days whaling was a way many people made there living, and the whales at least had a chance. It was the big commercial whalers that really hurt the whale population and it was good to put a stop to them!!
When yall were talking to that whaling guy, there was a guy standing behind Brandy with a white beard and a hat with an F (Florida). That guy looks like a guy I work with. I work the Nuc plants with him. I cant wait to ask him if it was really him. That whole place down there is really beautiful. Hopefull we can come down there someday.
Actually go and listen to what people, who s activities we all find repellent, have to say without judgement... It is a rarity these days. People need to talk to each other way more than argue. Respect for you beautiful people. Cheers.
I appreciate that you insure that your doggie wears his PCFD ( Personal Canine Flotation Device ). Does he really enjoy wearing his sunglasses? Haha he looks like he does.
Thanks! We want her to be as safe as possible. She likes wearing them mostly on the boat, but when we are walking on land, especially if it is shaded, she doesn't care for them.
@@BeauAndBrandy Sorry....Her I meant. Haha I have never seen a dog who likes wearing sun glasses. Are they good on the boat because of the bright sun and glare off the water?
Hello to you both and congratulations on your very informative and interesting video. My wife and I are going to do the intracostal and the bahamas trip with our dog (Husky) I wonder what kind of air conditioning system you use, and how much energy it spends . Thank you for your reply.
Hey guys!! We just picked up a window unit from walmart in Puerto Rico. We have a pretty big battery bank and inverter. The AC is temp regulated so it doesn't run the entire time. We need to do some analysis on the exact energy expenditure, we really haven't bc our system can handle it. but we have been getting more and more questions about it.
Depends on the time of the year, where we are, how the boat swings... so many factors. But we have seen as high as 5 kW during the day. The ac is thermal controlled, so it’s not constantly running. We have large battery bank.
I have pet turtles, but they're nowhere near as cute as those little babies. Dolphins and turtles...my two favorite animals and you get to see both all the time!
