JB weld is good stuff. I know of a Mack Superliner run around years with a JB weld steering gear Definitely keep that camera rolling you make the day go by so much easier. The longer the video the better
So far so good! It's coming through in one of those less than ideal situations. Was too far along in the build to backtrack to another case, so we're going with it!
Thanks Mark! Not an expert but my unqualified understanding- the #2 main area takes a beating on these engines. With all of that pounding in a well worn case, the #2 cam bore squeezes together to the point that the cam won't rotate freely. It may be checked by installing just the cam and it's bearings and torquing the case together, then checking its rotation. If it's pinched, a cam boring bar must be used to open up the #2 cam bearing bore. These bars are held in place ("located") by the #1 and #3 cam bearing bores and only cut the #2 bore. I'm still trying to find one of these bars; the people who know about them tend to keep them. I hope this helps!
