In this video, I am going to detail for you what it's like being a high roller at the casino, what VIP status is like, how the casino determines whether or not you're a high roller, and the perks associated with the lifestyle. Also, I am also going to be transparent in telling you why I gave it all up, and when I knew I was addicted to gambling and this lifestyle.

Hey Anton, My name is Draven and I just turned 21 on the 16th and already have been to the Casino 4 days in a row. I’ve done very well for the 4 days that I’ve gone (Up $600 with a $1000 bankroll). Do you think it’s possible or realistic to win just $100/day with my current bankroll?

I think eventually you lose big, then you’ll chase your losses. I’ve seen it all my friend. Possibly the worse thing that’s happened to you is that you’ve won the first time you gambled at the casino. Here is the best advice you’ll ever get about casinos: take your winnings, run, and NEVER GO BACK. Casinos aren’t built off winners. Good luck.

I played the pass line and placed 52 across or 54 across , sometimes double that , and buy the 4 and 10 and a 6$ or 12$ C E , hoping for a YO , then I switched to the Don't side , and put 10$ on Don't Come , did that for 3 rolls with max odds , and after years , and I mean years ... I finally got it , I realized craps was all I thought about , how could I get away from my family and play for 2 hours , I would work overtime and spend it all at the craps table . Everything all the time , no matter what , would I be able to get to the Casino and play ? I would juggle appointment , shifts , my wife knew I "escaped" once in a while to play , she had no idea how many times or how much time I spent there , all the dealers knew my bets , my name , I was greeted , got comps , all that stuff , but all that mattered is , get to the table , buy in , pray for the 7 , or pray against it , cringe every roll , hope for a number , anything but 7 Out , or hoping to hear 7 Out . Now I'm out , all out , don't go , but I'm scared cuz I know how tough it is not to play . I should be at GA , but that would piss my wife off for deceiving her , so I gotta play it cool , and just hope I don't fall back into the rush . I know you know what I mean . Chris in Canada

Nice to see such honesty from a VIP level player. I have had gambling issues for years but stopped for a year recently. Then got my fathers inheritance this summer during the pandemic. Straight back to online slots, lost 30k in 3 days, about 50% of my inheritance. Knew I was in trouble because the VIP department kept trying to call me. I was laying in bed feeling suicidal whilst they were calling honestly. Got help and stopped and have managed to keep a chunk of it but it nearly ended me.

@@AntonDaniels Definitely accepting what my triggers are and patterns of doing things helps. Like you say you are all in or all out. I got no thrill from low stakes and ended up doing 20 a spin, sometimes 50 a spin which is insanity. Got a few big wins of course but all goes back in so waste of time. I know if I gamble again it could cost me my roof and family and I have gotten away with it this time although the losses are sickening. Watching your video helped me here in the UK a lot so thanks.

What a beautiful testimony. I am a senior citizen, 71, and have recently gotten into slot machines. It is a real hype for me. I live on the East Coast and there are some casinos out this way. COVID brought me to slots on RU-vid and my niece brought me to the casino after they reopened to play. I have had a ball. Won many times, nothing huge, but a win nonetheless and it is like a sporting event to me. However, because my income is limited, I definitely do not go beyond my boundaries. I don't think I would ever throw down like I've seen many on the internet do. I could roll a 50 cent bet for hours just for the excitement of trying to get a win. When I'm done though, I am done and will return in two weeks or a month but not sooner than that. Love your honesty and the fact that you set boundaries and abided by them. That is how many fall into addictions and need to just walk away. It is a dark place and you think things will get better but they usually never do. Thanks for sharing even though its been three years. Things last forever on the internet.

I had 72 dollars in my wallet so I placed several 20 dollar bets on red and began slowly incrementing my winnings. Soon, I cashed out with 272 dollars and was hysterically happy. I thought I beat the system and learned some trick to gambling that no one else in the casino figured out. I walked out of the gambling halls and went to treat myself to a buffet and a show. I can honestly say I never 'lost' gambling at a casino. 1st time I ever went was at a brand new casino in Iowa and it was their grand opening weekend. The Saturday I wanted to go - my wife told me no, because it was our daughter's bday - but the next day, she 'allowed' me (lol) to take $20. And that was it. I drove there and as soon as I walked in, the lights, the sounds, the excitement! Wow! And I had no clue what to do, so I was walking through the slots area and walked through some rows and saw this $1/$2 Triple Diamond slot. So I put my $20 in and then hit the cashout button and chunka-chunka-chunka - got all these brand new shiny casino tokens. (I'm a coin collector, so I picked the nicest one and put in my pocket - still have it!) And then I plunked 1 in and pulled the handle. Nothin. Plunked in 2. Nothin. Plunked in 1 and nothin' again and I'm thinkin' shoot - I'm gonna be done here in less than 5 minutes! Then I plunked in 2 and triple-triple-triple! DING-DING-DING-DING-DING! $2500 just like that! HOO-EEEEeee! Took a little while for the attendant and to get my cash after filling out the tax form and I LEFT! Over the next couple years, I went back maybe 4-5 times, taking $100-$200 each time and going to the $1 slots area and $800 one time (on like 3rd pull - and left) and next time $1200 over a span of several hours and drinks - and left - and one time I went with $20 again and lost that in about 10 minutes - and left - and then I decided that was enough! I was WAYYY up and I saw them old people hooked up to oxygen tanks with a hose in their nose and their play bracelet with the cord plugged into the 'players club' slot on the machine. They were under total control - until they spent all they brought. I knew I wanted nothing to do with that lifestyle. This was 2001-2002 and haven't been back but ONE TIME in about 2011, I went there with my wife and we each had $100 and she hit a $229 slot and I lost my $100 and we enjoyed the buffet and that was it. Never been back since! So as you can see, never 'lost.' I'm waaay ahead and that's where I'll stay. Thanks for your story and wish you luck. You certainly were in a league way beyond what I could ever do - stick with it. If you have a problem, you've obviously taken the 1st step in realizing you have a problem. So remember -just like them folks in AA say (my friend's one of them) "It works if ya work it ~ So work it! ~You're Worth It!" Good luck, man.

Respect to you man. I’m a dealer at a local casino in AC, I’m one of the youngest dealers in the city at 18 and some of the shit I see just breaks my heart. I’ve seen people bet away their life savings and more. I’ll never forget one day this guy was betting purples on my blackjack table. He had just bought in and the shoe just started. He lost like ten hands in a row, started bawling his eyes out, looked me in the eye and said, “my wife is gonna divorce me...”. It really is an addiction, this activity is not for the easily tempted, I’ve seen people win for the day, or maybe even the week but in the end you will always lose. I remember this one lady who’s a regular hit the major progressive on a blackjack table and won tens of thousands of dollars, this was two tables down from mine that night. When I went on break I spoke to the dealer who was on that table and the lady playing said that she didn’t tip because she was still down 90 thousand dollars...

Thanks for posting this. Me and my friends had a very similar story. Started low limit $10 tables and gradually increased over the years. I never got too out of control, but one friend became an addict and was the “high roller”. All the hosts and pit bosses were so accommodating as long as we were playing. It is so transparent that they only care about the money. They basically fed his addiction until he went bust. Luckily, he is back on his feet and stopped gambling. Casinos are such a trap. They will take up all your time and money. Better off spending time with family and friends. Best wishes to you.

I will tell myself a dozen different reasons not to go and despite all the frustration I've experienced losing hundreds of dollars nearly every time I went, I still find myself driving there against my better judgement. It takes a toll on you emotionally with all the ups and downs and bad beats. I come out of the casino like a zombie, a broke and pissed off zombie. Well, you're not gambling, you're just giving your money away. I used to work in illegal game rooms in GA so I literally gambled every day. Once a month I'd go to Tunica or Biloxi. I used to lose a lot of money but if I won, I took my winnings. I saw a lot of people that would sit an play all day on the same machine, finally hit the jackpot and actually be up, but still not cash out and just sit there and play every bit of it back. Or they would hit, cash out but then just sit at another machine and not leave until it was gone. When you're doing that, it's time to quit because you literally can't win.

I noticed the same thing about all the people spending not just the large amount of money, but also the time in the casinos. Myself I spent the day with my family walking the strip, shopping, and eating at the awesome restaurants, going to the red rock canyon etc. Then at night spend time at the BJ table with a set amount of money I was ok with losing, for me at the $5 or $10 min table it was $50. One night I went I was up as high as 300 and left up 250. Another I lost 50. It's all about having priorities and setting limits and sticking to them.

I gambled from 19-25. I’m 27 now I haven’t gambled in a year and a half. Worst addiction ever I would gambled 700-1000 a week. I played slots and black jack I felt helpless was in debt I owed my family money repoed my truck I didn’t want to live anymore. Until my dad told me one day. You will never be a man. You will never be a father you will never be a husband you’re weak. That hit me soo hard, I gave my brother all of my cards and money I gave him my checks I didn’t have a penny but that helped and now here I am almost debt free I have money in the bank and I don’t crave that anymore. ALL OF YOU!!! Can stop too you have the power stop letting these casinos win. Keep telling yourself. You’re going to loose over and over again. The key is to keep busy. I started to having a slight financial issue then I realized God was telling me this isn't the way. These casinos will give all the free perks b/c they're going to get the cost back when they take your $$$. Anton your right it was the rush for me as well. Interestingly, I went to a casino after COVID and I noticed a lot of people were complaining that nothing is or has been paying for a while. I just ate with friends and got up out of there. Mr Daniels, Your story is not new, but you telling it might make someone out there realize that life is to short to be a prisoner of addiction. The casinos survive because people are made to believe they are getting something for free....That does not happen, they pay many times what they get for. People want to be like the famous people they see on the Tv and think that they deserve what the others have, not realizing that they already have what they need inside their hearts and souls. If people stop and think of all the time, effort and money they have wasted trying to chase their own tails...They would be in tears. Just live your life to it’s fullest, enjoy everything and love your family....That makes you a winner. Thank God everyday that you are here to see another day and make the most of it. Casinos are bloodsuckers! I remember how delighted I was when I heard Poker pro Phil Ivey took 2 casinos for over 30 million playing Baccarat. He outsmarted them by bringing with him this woman who he said was his translator since the dealers were Asian. But not only was she his translator, but she was also a master at edge sorting and they hadn’t a clue! Edge sorting is a technique used in advantage gambling where a player determines whether a face-down playing card is likely to be low or high at casino table games by observing, learning, and exploiting subtle unintentional differences on the backs of the cards being dealt. The casinos later found out what he did and took him to court to recover the money. I don’t see how this could be considered cheating since they agreed to all of his requests from the beginning. With that being said, the average Joe doesn’t stand a chance against casinos, but professional gamblers are always finding innovative ways to beat the house. Anything is possible! Cheers.
@AntonDaniels
@AntonDaniels 5 лет назад

@NeverTalkToCops1
@NeverTalkToCops1 5 лет назад
@@msalat3684 Edge sorting is not an unfair advantage to the player. It is a colossal failure of the casino to not use better manufactured playing cards. Same with roulette, you can't be charged with crimes for using physics, sensors, hidden computers, to sometimes find a roulette table that's a little off. Those geniuses who did this are several decades removed from today. Casinos now have methods to prevent this sort of advantage.

Good luck to you sir. Happy that you made the changes you did because you wanted to and not because you HAD to do so. I like the casino experience. I like the games and I like the action. But, I know the numbers, I know the odds and I always know the house edge in any game or bet. I look at gambling at a casino as a form of entertainment and the money I may lose is the price I pay for that. Same as what I might pay for seats at a concert or sporting event or a trip to Europe or the Caribbean. I weigh the richness of the experience against the cost (and the effort it takes to earn the money to do those things). All things in moderation has been a motto for me. Interestingly, my income was not only immune from the negative effect during the 2008 recession, but it actually increased dramatically. Vegas was calling and offering all kinds of incentives and perks and comps to come play. Things were BAD there. I ended up as a Platinum or Noir member for 6 or 7 years all while betting anywhere from $25-$100 at blackjack and craps. It wasn't the amount of my bets so much as I was willing to spend 7-8 hours at a table that got me noticed by the casino host. Factoring in a few cashes at the WSOP over a 5 year span and a couple of progressive jackpot wins, I am up considerably. I am still playing with their money. However, I am not interested in giving it all back so I have dialed back my visits and my time at the tables. I still enjoy the action and make a few trips out but I go with friends who aren't gambling junkies so there is always pressure to do things outside of the casino. Again, best of luck to you!

I am a casino dealer and I have to say that this comment made me cringe so hard. As dealers our top priority is guest confidentiality and game security. If he had that money on the table it is his business to mention it. I know it seems weird to say this on this video but its true. I make it a point to NEVER know or memorize how much someone consistently bets or how much of their money goes in my drop. I could tell a floor the average bet and what I previously dropped that night but at the end of the day I make it a point to forget amounts and average bets. I don't learn names without guest permission and I make it a point to forget faces. That way say a heavy player walks in one day with his girlfriend and the next day with his wife and she asks me if I know him, the Oscar can go to me for bold face telling that woman no. I am a dealer, I love guest service and many of the guests make it a point to come to my table and sit. I have also been informed that my stress on discretion is the reason for that. At the end of the day its the guests money, its the casinos money, and its nobody else's business but the players to share amounts, stories, or secrets. I have seen lots of shit and I know I sound cruel or cold but I feel like the best way to be fair to my employer and guests is to be neutral. I won't help you lose. I also won't help you win. It's hard sometimes but I make it a point to only let it be hard when I go on break and I am not actively working with guests money. Blackjack Dealer 100% support your Position. Funny thing is sveryone forgets the EYE IN THE SKIES, they see everything know everyones names information how much they win/lose how much they win and thats total losses over time they know all these stats, Its all monitored. And i know alot of those guys come up to me and told me thryve seen me at the casino im like really i dont remenber seeing you, do you play blackjack? And they go no i work at the casino. Im like what games tdo you normally deal? They go, ' No i work security' This has happened 2wice. Obviously i dont care if people see me win but most of the time you cone out losing, say you binked off 5k-10k in a couple sessions so yeah it both times these two different guys approached me, or saw me out, i had come off of a losing stretch. so it kinda sucks that you dont know who knows and how they may even be connected to your social circles. Bad news travels fast right.

Hi Anton, I found your video very interesting and relatable. I too had the same thrill and excitement playing. The vibe in a casino is unlike anything else I've experienced in my life. A few years ago, I was 22 and on a guys trip in Vegas. First time ever in a casino, I was broke as a joke with probably about 3K in my bank account. Won 1700 my first night on blackjack. 2nd night I lost all of that and then all of my 3K in a matter of an hour on roulette and blackjack. That high speed thrill you get from that initial win you made is crazy. Since then I've been to a casino maybe 3 or 4 times in my local area. Didn't risk more than what I have to lose, but still get that crazy adrenaline rush and thrill even if I'm losing. Thankfully, I don't really go anymore and have learned my lesson. Great video and message!

Glad to see this and your video for the second time around. I am excited to go to Vegas as the next person, since its a change of environment from home. I love me some Ultimate Texas Hold Em and some slots. I only bring what I can lose and have fun with it. I have literally stopped in the middle of the day of my vacation there when it was going all too well or when the fun wasn’t necessarily. So, I ate and watched some RU-vid videos to end the day. I see so many people lose though or make really bad decisions at the tables. I wish people knew the rules and strategy if any to what theyre playing. Have a good one.

I got to experience the high roller lifestyle through my best friend's mom actually. She was a high roller at the Hard Rock Casino and we were getting front row seats to huge concerts, box suites at sports events, 1000+ dollar restaurant tabs, free cruises, going everywhere in limos and escalades with drivers, free shit all the time, you name it. It was amazing. But I just don't have an addictive personality at all, so even though I was always around that lifestyle and at the casino, I never felt that need to gamble (Also didn't really have the money, but when I did have money on me I almost never said "let me try") . I'm saying because I do understand that feeling that compels you to play. Most people who say oh it's just gambling and spending money, you can just stop. They've never really been exposed to that lavish life. If you get sucked in it's hard to give it up. Much respect to you for having the sense to control yourself. Also amazing video, very interesting the whole way through.

Good stuff bro. I'm an advantage player, and like you said, it's boring. Gambling is a rush, it's a high. Whereas counting cards is a job. It becomes a grind, where the actual rush and high are absent, because it takes a lot of time and energy. Gambling addicts become addicted simply due to the rush and high they get, has nothing to do with what they win or lose. The money is nothing more than a means to get that high. And when they play into the always present house edge, they will lose all their money, then resort to detrimental means to get more money to play. Keep on letting them know man. You're probably saving someone's life, someone's marriage, someone's job.

I don’t gamble often but it’s not hard to beat man, I go with 100 dollars for the fun of it, and if I lose 50 then I’m done. Maybe i play something else. If I double my money and I’m done, then I walk away. If you double your money and you’re not done, stay until you’re down to 150. Just don’t spend more than you can lose. Good luck and have fun my guy

@@thechosenone314 I would say its good that you can do that but i would also say that 95% of people are not capable of doing that. If everyone played like you vegas and heck even small casinos would not exist. All the lights all the people working for casinos all the amenities all the entertainment costs so much money no way they could stay in business if people were capable of gambling responsibly. Also they would not stay in business if majority of people could leave when winning...the truth is that most people will play hoping for bigger and bigger payout untill they are in a loss and thats how casinos stay in business.

@caseyquinn9282
@caseyquinn9282 5 лет назад
@@dplaya746 , 95% is a high estimate. There are plenty of people that gamble often and responsibly. I used to work in an illegal game room so I've seen it all from the people that stop in every day with $5 and play a nickel at a time and leave when their $5 is gone or they leave if they get up to $50 or more, to people that have gotten divorced because they were losing all their money or people that got evicted because they kept losing their rent money. We also had one couple that would come in with their 3 kids, each put a dollar in the machine and then turn around and order hot dogs, nachos and drinks and basically get dinner for the 5 of them for $2. If I go to the casino I usually take $400 a day to play with. If I lose the whole $400 then I go up to my room and watch tv. If I have lost only $200 by the time I'm ready to go to bed then I take the other $200 and put it up, not to be touched again. Now, if I win $100 I put it up as well. If I do good and win say $400 then I'll put $300 up and have $500 to play with the next day. I do it because it's fun to play, if I'm there and I lose $1200 dollars in three days then that's not a lot for a 3 day weekend (I'm clearly not a high roller but that level still gets me free rooms and free food). I went to Boston for a 3 day weekend and easily spent $1200 so in my opinion it's not that much if you enjoy it.
