When you think about the junkyard in more detail, I think it's a symbol for Chloe's past and the way she's still holding on to William's death. William was killed in a car accident, and that conversely Chloe is disabled in a car William brought for her in the alternate timeline - I think cars are a symbol of death and grief in LIS, and the fact that Chloe and Rachel hang out in the junkyard symbolises how Chloe is still holding on to the grief of losing William, even after all this time. Idk just my opinion.
Really late to this, but in a quite literal sense there is graffiti seen in the school car park of episode 1 that says "cars=death". This is maybe foreshadowing your theory!

I'm so fucking glad they admit that finding the final bottle was a mistake, i mean i spent hours and hours looking for the stupid thing. However the game has a nice feeling to it, loved it.
Even when the actresses talked I thought they were acting for a while... They didn't just find fitting actors, they found Max and Chloe's real life equivalents.

Holy shit, i never noticed that the doe was Rachel guiding you. It makes sense after watching that junkyard part, the doe was right in the place that she got buried. I finished Life is Strange a couple hours ago and i had tears in my eyes. The last time that a game made me this emotional was with season 1 of the Walking Dead. Congratulations to Dontnod, they did something special, i just hope that the sequel can live up to my expectations. But before that i need to play the prequel, and i'm so excited.

I don't feel I need to say how much this game reached me. Cringe or not at times. It was just real. As much as time travel can be. Who hasn't thought about that power during such a tough time in life? Who hasn't had a coming of age moment? If you haven't.
I just finally played this game this week, and today I finished it. Def one of those experiences that makes it hard to do anything but think about it once it ends. Not too many things do that to me, but Life is Strange did. Amazing work.
I really thought Rachel would be revealed as the source of the time-travel ability. Still had me captivated with what they did, and maybe it would've been a bit too 'afterlife explains it' to have Rachel be the one who was maybe trying to save Chloe through Max, but idk, it's what I imagined before finishing my playthrough
23:40 im not sure he is saying that the doe is connonically Rachel's spirit animal. It could be a language barrier saying that the doe standing there is clearly linked to rachel being burried there, and that the doe is guiding max to that location because of rachel being there. Samuel says that the doe is max's spirit guide in the game.
14:50 - Yeah I didn't have good vibes about Chloe in the first episode. But I did grow to like her in Episode 2 when you delve into her family life and her friendship with Max blossoms again!
Thanks for putting these together. I couldn't bring myself to play through the game again just to watch these. I couldn't put Max and Chloe through all that again.

I was so impressed by the little details I'd find in the game. Not in the first playthrough, but on the third or fourth. At the beginning of episode 3 when Max is wandering around her dorm in the dark, I swear at on point I heard a girl sobbing behind one of the doors. I'd had a good outcome with Kate in the previous episode, so I'm guessing that regardless of that outcome, a girl would be crying about it.
Now I wonder if Max got the power to rewind the time because of experiencing an emotional shock at the moment of witnessing a death scene or Rachel made this to her because she wanted somehow to be found by Chloe and got these bustards caught?
I'm so sad that I am not hyped for Season 2. Watched the playthrough of the first episode, and chose not to buy it. It would have been better, in my opinion, if DONTNOD would have made it (and not migrating it into Unity). It reinforced my love of the first season. This game will always hold a special place in my heart.
I wish. They originally said that they wanted to do a new story with different characters. But that was before the popularity of this game really took off. I've literally seen everyone everywhere talking about LiS 2 (like the past few days/weeks) having new characters and nobody pointed out that that alleged announcement was said BEFORE the game gained all the popularity it has now. We have BtS now, and everyone is still saying there is going to be a brand new LiS 2, with new characters, places, and powers. Have you read anything about that? Is it true? cause, I think that'd completely flop, especially because the story revolves around Max and her powers, Chloe as a person and her life in general, Rachel's mystery, and literally like everything that has to do with Blackwell and arcadia bay.
Thee are only two games I've tried that made me feel this strongly. Life is Strange and The Walking Dead (TellTale). Honestly i don't know which one I prefer.
nicomuse123 I think they got a lot of inspiration from Gone Home. It's a heavily narrative-driven game with young females as protagonists. It's really cool if you're into details and heartwarming stories
If anyone is interested im currently trying to develope a sequel story to this game. I would like to develop two different stories; one for each ending but right now my main focus is the reality where Chloe is sparred. When i say sequel I don't mean just a typical fan fiction or a 20 min demo game a fan makes with pictures and stock footage. I mean I'm currently developing a script that'll be hundreds of pages long to fulfill the 6 to 10 hour run time the first game had. If anyone is interested or would like to know more I'd be happy to oblige.
