I am a teacher. I can’t swear or go off on a parent or my administrator without getting fired. We have lost a key issue There are certain professions that should be held to a higher standard. Politicians and Presidents should be among those.

IMHO Gov. Christie blew it on the first debate stage in 2015. I was very interested in him for president and then first off he disappointed me when they were supposed to just introduce themselves. OMG does it get any easier than that? He said something to the effect of “I’ll tell you who I am not and then went on and on and on putting Sect. Clinton down. That was it for me. I thought, I know politicians don’t answer hard questions well but this was his chance to let me (someone who doesn’t live in NJ) learn good things about him that I didn’t know. But no he had to jump on the denigrate train that Benedict Donald has kept us on for 9 years. It’s an ugly train that goes round and round and round and never stops. Yes folks it is easy to put others down especially when they are not there. Where does that get us? Going round and round to nowhere land. I am so mad at the GOP that I will never vote for another republican for any office as long as I live. IMHO.

Wow…sick days were a benefit to be used if you were sick not income earned. If you are sick you will be paid. I ran a company where we had no sick days. Ifyou were absent due to sickness you were simply paid until you were well enough to do the job verified by your doctor. That evolved into being paid when you a were absent for any reason…taking care of a child or parent or being snowed in your driveway. When we implemented this plan employees were suspicious but at the end of the first year they thanked us for trusting them. If you hire the right people they will not abuse the system. Employees asked “what if someone abuses this system?” By and large very few will abuse this program but if someone does that is managements responsibility. I can honestly report that not one employee took advantage but all were happy with this approach.

What’s a mistake for workers who do not take sick pay, not missing work, that is a benefit that they SHOULD be eligible for , not use it or lose it!! Why do so many politicians have so many benefits that it makes us common folk’s heads spin!!!! You let them keep the benefit for their SERVICE, rightfully so!!!

There are so many problems with Christie's take on the banked sick time and how all of that works, effectively, throughout one's career.

Those sick leave checks... THEY EARNED THEM by working. If other people choose to collect those funds by taking sick days, Who give a F if the people that didn't take them are paid out. Totally reasonable.

I never minded his directness and possible crassness. However, i was on the east coast and hoping to take my child to the park. The park was closed by order of the governor. However, a helicopter showed he and his family lounging on the very same beach. I lost a lot of respect for him that day and he's really never recovered in my mind. He was very shortsighted and his flip flopping in Trump had not helped.

Why did Christie's "people" he appointed to transportation believe that what they did with the GW Bridge would please him? It says a lot about his personality and how he relates to people.

Chris Christie is a Republican who won in a deep blue state. This demonstrates that he is able to pull respect from Democrats, and he definitely has my respect. A very thoughtful man, even if I disagree on an issue here and there.

Chris Christie will never undermine my suspicion that he was involved in closing down that bridge.

His regret is that he didn't take unused sick pay from federal workers. Still a republican.

I thought Chris was going to say (about sick pay) was that it was a smart idea to reward people for ‘not being sick’ and teaching them to remain well. It could be that in order for a public servant to remain in good standing for receiving the ‘wellness pay’ they would be required to undergo a yearly wellness evaluation that requires a body composition, strength assessment, VO2 max, and cognitive assessment in addition to a comprehensive wellness blood panel assessment that is dives deep into metabolic, immune, and inflammation biomarkers. Then when they fall short of goals, you don’t punish the by shaming and blaming, but empower them with education and tools through a health optimization program that allows the worker to elevate their health, create their best life, and live with purpose and passion. I want to be certain not to neglect the mental health and social health components of a comprehensive program of Whole Person, Whole Health. This type of approach needs to be evaluated based on the needs, norms, and values of the culture. Do we invest in the health of our people and the nation, and have more resources available to rescue the people from crisis.

Chris Christie.... as a fellow registered Republican, I always looked up to you for your positions, honesty and candor. But the current GOP is NOT my GOP. You need to denounce the MAGA/Trump movement. I'll vote BLUE the remainder of my days.

does using your sick time every year or banking it make a difference? If you make a cap on payouts at $15,000 dollars, then I would expect that the employees would just use their sick time before it expires. If everyone is calling in sick on a regular basis, then you need to hire more employees... Seems like this is a zero sum game. You either pay the unused sick time or you hire more employees to do the same work

Thank you for this. As an Independent, I always supported Christie and this confirms my bias. It's good to hear a leader reflect upon past mistakes and publicly own up to them. What the heck makes Trump believe he's the smartest person...I don't get it.

I do not take life lessons from the likes of these people.

Chris is a courageous man, excellent leader. I’d vote for him in a heartbeat.
