What is called enlightement is really the realization of a horizon, where you can see the truth, God or logos (whatever you want to call it). I am 43 and am going through all of this now. It's too late to put in the work for the second half. I fucked up the first half and am now living the hell of the second. Wife = gone. Son = diagnosed with special needs and will need care permanently both financially and physically from myself and his mother for all of 'our' life, and what happens to him when we are gone, we won't ever know. Money = None really (see, 'fucked up the first half'). Stuck in the rent trap now, my job pays well enough that there should be a way somewhere to turn it around, but the government is hell bent on raising the cost of living constantly with green energy policy in an absurd delusion that it will save a planet that does not need saving. My bills destroy any spare money I earn, there is nothing left for learning and earning through investment. And if I could, what for? Too old and too poor to attract another beautiful younger mate to share life with. The ones my own age who might otherwise like to engage only judge me by my lack of success, and decide I am not worth their time or effort. Besides, I'm a white man, so women want to blame me for everything that is perceived as wrong in this world. For me, there is a lot of time spent now just playing video games, watching RU-vid, and other self indulgement that seeks only to temporarily distract. A lot of listening to music too. The Townes Van Zandt song, "Waitin' Around To Die" really hits hard these days....................

It’s not realism you doomers just think life is about finding love or having money life is literally doing what you love, which is always going to require money so just fucking work and save money for a few years and do what you want. Buy an old car and work on it. go to the gym and become the best you can be. Love and the other stuff comes with doing what you love. For me it’s going to the gym and working on my Nissan 300zx. I used to have the doomer mentality but I realized it was all an excuse to feel miserable. Wake up, the world may not be yours, but your life is. Make the most of it.

The doomer is usually smart (there are exceptions tho) and there is most likely a physical and mental deficit in artistic expression. allow me to elaborate: The doomer isn't complacent by any means but is partially afraid of change and doesn't have the necessary means of changing his view of the world without that change coming to haunt him. what would shuch a means look like you may ask? well sport or martial arts would be one. Climbing or biking would be another. Maybe even hiking or canoeing the list goes on. There is a mental aspect to this means; art. Yes, art as in painting or writing or whatever artistic discipline that is out there as long as it's expressive and allows the practitioner to express themselves. By exercising yous mind and your body (and maybe also eating healthy) it's very likely to turn a doomer into a bloomer. Now, there are a few things that plagues the doomer and is sometimes the source of the doomerism attitude of the doomer which can be solved by expressing yourself artistically and by exercising. 1.) sport is usually done in clubs, maybe alone too bu if it's something like soccer or boxing then you'd have to interact with new people which is good. It strengthens your social skills and if you suck at it, it will put you in uncomfortable situations that need perseverance to overcome, this builds character. 2.) sport gives you opportunity to interact with people that you may or may not find attractive and the interactions arise naturally either within the activity itself or by having it as a subject to talk about in future interactions with potential partners. 3.) art is another thing that strengthens your idea of the "self"; "who am i?" "what do i want?" "what is the purpose of life?" are questions that can be solved and answered reasonably by art. Doing art is like staring into the void and having it stare back, but not into you as Nietche says, but rather at a white canvas to be captured by. The void and the entropy it contains can be an infinite source of inspiration for a doomer. the important question doesn't become "what is the meaning of life?" but rather "with what can meaninglessness be filled with?": it's a much more productive and sustainable question to ask oneself. A doomer is a bloomer without the tools to realize his own bloomerism. it's not an inevitable process tho. If a doomer stays a doomer for too long he might become depressed to the point of committing suicide. A doomer needs to find a physical and a mental outlet of his frustration (this applied to women as well).

How do you keep on track and avoid slipping back into destructive habits? I have this problem where I get bored or annoyed with following the positive routines like working out, reading, cooking my own healthy food or going to bed early. It's hard to describe, like I feel I need to take a break from being "productive" and then I get sucked back into junk food, RU-vid and vidya, which to be honest do not really make me feel "rested". My life is either being super-productive, doing all the necessary stuff all at once, or doing nothing at all.

A goal will guide you and you will realize pretty quick what is hindering you from reaching your goal, so you can avoid that. But remember: A goal in life is always made up of smaller goals, which you can achieve daily. Thats where a Plan comes in handy; write small goals for each day and try to achieve them all, if its as simple as doing your homework or cleaning up your room. This plan will form your *Discipline*. Thats the most important thing of all. Nothing works without dicipline. I hope i helped here, because i cant say much for others but thats my personal experience.

He had a job making 80K a year. Then he started having mental problems and killed himself because he was so miserable.

What's the point of having new friends if all of them leave? I feel like i'm poison to them so either i try to get out of their life or they just ignore me. There is no point making friends when you're your worst ennemy. They will leave you. Trust me the friends i trusted and thought would never leave just forget i even exist. Money and free time isn't going to be your happiness. It's never been anyone's happiness, and never will be. I suggest hitting up one of your old friends. Talk to them maybe even meet them. Every relationship you have requires effort. If you don't put effort in, then yes; They'll forget about you. You could argue 'well they never invite me to anything. it goes both ways'. But that is the trap: Because they aren't putting in effort, I won't either. But this is a train of thought that results in a misplaced resentment for your friends. I also suggest talking to a psychiatrist. They can help you understand your own mind better. But I also recommend checking out the HealthyGamerGG YT channel. It's run by a Psychiatrist who regularly interviews people and coaches them with issues they have. I think there are interviews that you might resonate with aswell.

@@lawofphysx1506 Thanks for the advices man. I know that money isn't gonna make me happy it's just gonna make my life easier. I also have a better relationship with my friends. It's just that at the time i had a hard time accepting that they're eventually gonna leave. But that's part of life. Maybe i'll be the one leaving. Who knows what's gonna happen. I don't want to see a psychiatrist because it's expensive and i don't think they can help since a lot of my mental issues are due to where i am in life right now. I'll probably be better once the situation gets better. I'll try watching some videos by healthygamer though. Sometimes i have dark thoughts and since i don't want people that are close to me knowing about those things i go on RU-vid and comment about my despair.
