During the period of early European settlement, the area that is now Adams County, Pennsylvania was truly the frontier. During the French and Indian War (1754-1758), area residents were caught in the midst of a struggle that would change the course of world history. Fear and panic were widespread as raiding parties of French and Native American forces killed settlers, and local men armed themselves as organized militia. Join ACHS Historian Tim Smith for a look back in time at this fascinating period of early Adams County history!
