During the period of early European settlement, the area that is now Adams County, Pennsylvania was truly the frontier. During the French and Indian War (1754-1758), area residents were caught in the midst of a struggle that would change the course of world history. Fear and panic were widespread as raiding parties of French and Native American forces killed settlers, and local men armed themselves as organized militia. Join ACHS Historian Tim Smith for a look back in time at this fascinating period of early Adams County history!

Thanks for this information. My family lived in Adams County (york County) starting in like 1740. My family member is John Eddy. Im glad you have a folder on him. I added a copy of his willl that i got from the york County . John died in 1751. I need to come back up and do more research on that time. I only had an hour last time.

If this video is about the founding of Adams county, and you don't mention that Scott family, you are in the wrong line of work.
