Its called a UMS class ship in which we have panels in engineers cabin to monitor the parameters. If any fault it will come on the panel in the cabin and we can attend that issue.
Can crews use their mobile phone during work ? What about signal mobile phone? How u communicate with your family or love ones ? And How many months journey will take?
Crew cannot use mobile phones during work but in off time you can use your mobiles. Onboard ship now a days we do have wifi connection but limited net mostly. So you can be in contact with your family and friends. And about the journey it depends from voyage to voyage average speed of a ship is about 12kts which is about 24 to 30kmph so you can do the math. The max days i have done sailing is 45 days at sea from US to North China
