After watching Johnny and Ricky on Graham Norton, I now know that that Riverdance part, was made up by Johnny :). Warwick didn't know he was going to do that. Thought I'd share :)
Is it funny because JD is funny or is it funny because JD is taking advantage of a dwarf. Or is it funny because RG tells us it's funny. Personally I think it's like the emperors new clothes. Maybe one lone sane figure should point out that it simply is not funny.
If he was a black dwarf, or a gay dwarf, or a female dwarf it wouldn't be funny, it would be hateful and inappropriate. But because he's a straight, white, male dwarf it's hilarious and he deserves all he gets.
Ricky Gervais is a hateful little bully who dresses everything up the same way Jimmy Carr does by saying it's just a joke, as if that's a teflon excuse for being a twat. He makes things he considers funny, convinces television networks to fund them and then rams them down the public's face until he gets lorded as being a funny comedian. The cold hard reality is no-one cares it's just pumped out garbage whilst he collects his fat paycheck. BUT... He works his ass off to bring these things to reality, whereas naysayers do nothing to counteract it by making better quality comedy. Frankly I think it's just really depressing. Just because someone has the brass-neck to ram shit down our throats doesn't mean we should lap it up. 'Success' is seen as monetary and he's an oik who's been given a platform by other similar oiks until it turns into this hateful echo chamber run and for oiks.
