I feel like it would be really helpful if you made a video about long term relationships. You don’t need to go into specifics of your relationship but I have a feeling that you and Aslan loved each other but fell out of love with each other and that you probably didn’t break up as soon as you could have due to the comfort of being together - and ultimately you enjoyed each others company but at the end of the day weren’t the happiest you could be with a partner you were madly in love with. How did you get the courage to break up and be alone after so many years together and what made you decide that was the right decision?
i agree, i think it is so brave to end things with someone after such a long and (what seemed to be) a lovely period of time for the most part. obviously i don't expect any personal relationship info but its an interesting life jolt that i want to know if its as easy as you're making it appear. completely up to you :)

I used to love this channel so much because Estee seemed so authentic and chill, but I feel like she's become so focused on her brand and being a successful business woman that her videos now feel impersonal. Exactly. I watched her since she was just beginning on RU-vid but unsubscribed some time ago when the brand deals and trips came in, saw a major change in her and in the channel in general. She use to be relatable.
I used to love Essie and her genuine self. Since the Lalonde re-brand, I find it very difficult to watch. It's like we just get the outer shell of a person, no depth. Change is good, but the thing that had me watching was her personality, not het stuff. Nowadays there is more focus on the latter.
Romina E couldn't agree more, I am not one to slate people especially estee because I've watched her for years but there is just no depth to her. Her book told of how she dealt with anxiety and so on why can't her channel touch on raw emotions that we all go through. Being a strong I dependant women means deal g with your shit and with a platform like hers why not help others be strong and independent and help them deal with their shit. If she really is doing well and is 'in a great place right now why not share this time with us?
She made a mistake. We all do. No one is perfect. I think that we need to stop judging her for acting out at the Lancome event and realize that she overreacted because she was stressed out. It happens to the best of us.
People grow and change as they get older and become the person they are meant to be. She does not owe us anything, she is a real human being and can decide what parts of herself she wants to share with us. And how is leaving a comment like this being rude to her going to encourage her to be more open with us.
Victoria Miller I agree. I think from what we saw in her earlier videos she's a great person, with lots of layers that has been through a lot and overcome a lot. like all of us. it would be nice to bring that side back. and like you said, use the platform in better ways.
All they want to hear is you to say "we broke up, I don't want to go into the details, we're both moving on and its all good." Just say that and people will leave you alone.

There doesn't have to be something that "happened" between them... people grow apart, and for a long time, we didn't see their relationship or even Esteé on here tbh. We think we know youtubers because we get to see what they choose to show us, but that is their job and she doesn't owe us anything. We don't go around to Angelina Jolie asking why she and Brad broke up, even though we got to see some of their relationship, and we don't go to your neighbor asking them what happened when we notice their boyfriend isn't coming around anymore. They addressed it, they posted it on social media, so that we know and are up to part with it. Nothing more is owed to us
Ana Reis it’s not the same here as with your neighbors. Celebrities typically eventually give interviews explaining what happened as well. But I feel like youtubers are a lot more intimate with their viewers, so they kind of owe us that. It’s not fair to be showing your relationship for years, doing all these relationship tags, trips etc. But then once they split, not a word! that doesn’t make sense. It’s as if when it’s good they want to rub it into everyone’s face, but when it failed, they ignore it. I find that hypocritical.

They are someone we get to see often, but the bits of their life we see are curated, and they are not at our arms reach. If Estee was just a makeup tutorial channel, and didn’t vlog her relationship, would it make it “ok” to not talk about it when it ended, even though we would be aware of the change? It’s complicated. Like you said, maybe eventually she will go into more detail about it, but for now, I just think we should stand on our place and let her deal with it how she chooses..

She could have kept that part of her life completely separate from the internet. Heartbreak, split ups, and life changes are hard for anyone. If you've never been through them then I can understand your ignorance, but to DEMAND an answer from her and call her hypocritical sounds like you're not happy with your life. She chooses what she does and doesn't share. She could have completely not shared ANYTHING about her new apartment and no one would have known. She could have kept her breakup on the down low too. Rachelle McLeod I agree (and am dying to know) but not every breakup is good for the world to know. Like, I broke up with someone I met on a trip but it was for sexual reasons and I could never put that out there because we have mutual friends and I am nice enough to not want to embarrass him. And, if Estee says anything mean or whatever, aslan is just gonna want revenge and overall it may not be good.
I agree with you, she never has to disclose anything to us ever and i'd be okay with that. You make a good point, i think she's in a difficult situation with her relationship being so public. But, whatever choice she's made to not disclose anything is okay. Like you made the good point, sometimes the more people know the worse the situation is messier .

Since you don’t cook, maybe start doing videos on the experience of learning to cook and what recipes are easy and work for your new life. Also, updated apartment tours would be great so that we can follow along as your apartment comes together. I know not everyone is into spirituality, but doing a video on the crystals you have and explaining why you’ve chosen to incorporate them into your life would be interesting. As always, sharing your current favorite reads and makeup/skincare faves are awesome. I appreciate this sit down, update video. As an audience, especially after following you for a period of time, it starts to feel like you’re a close friend. Haven’t been watching Estées Videos for quite some time and somehow, She seems different compared to some years ago...I mean its natural to evolve and change over the years, we all do! Also, I guess that the break up with Aslan and the new life situation has had an effect on her, naturally. but something just doesnt‘t feel the same for me anymore which kind of makes me sad. Back in the days, everything seemed to be more natural, relatable and less business-orientated. But I guess its just another reminder of how fast time flies and that nothing in life stays the same, we always have to let go. I think there’s such an effort to show positivity here. I mean, positivity is a good thing but not when it’s smothering something real. Being happy and content should feel effortless and calm not laboured and constantly saying how happy and in a good place you are. I’m not being mean, I promise but happiness comes from growth and letting yourself be real and feel what you’re feeling. I’m sure Estee’s life has not been all sunshine and crystals lately - I’m sure it’s been really really hard and of course that’s her personal business but I think there’s a benefit in being real and saying “hey, it’s been pretty hard for me and sometimes I feel super low about it but I’m working through the days and getting better” instead of forcing a smile on everything.
