My blood sugar levels always rise rapidly after any ride and for the first hour or so. Even after nearly 50 years of trying to get it right and not panicking, I still tend to over correct . I’m now back to using pens to control it after around 9 years with a pump. I found that I was struggling to find cannula sites and the insulin just wasn’t being delivered. I was regularly going into the high 20’s, which never happens with the pens. Plus they’re not at all intrusive. Thanks for sharing your trials and tribulations, maybe I’ll do the same one day 👊🏻👊🏻
Glad to hear I'm not the only 1 I guess. Its much more noticeable on the pump for sure but overall I'm really pleased with the flexibility the pump is offering....
If you're ever over in the US, we have tons of Type1 races all over. JDRF rides, Tour De Cure, my favorite = Team Type 1 Helen Georgia with Novo Nordisk. Ride in Blue in Miami for the nonprofit Extra Sweet. Atlanta GA has one where they close the highway and thousands bike it for Type 1.
