I went from Nexus 6 to LG, Pixel 4a, 4a5g, 6, then to S23 and now back to 9Proxl. I really like the Google software experience. S23 was nice but didn't care about the fact that I was not using any Samsung software or features. I used to say if we could get a Pixel software in a Samsung body it would be perfect. Pixel 9 series answers that for me.
I know what you mean, I've used Honor View 10, S20FE, Pixel 4a, 5a5G, Pixel 6, S21Plus, Pixel 7 Pro and now the 8 Pro. I really do like the Pixel phones
I've had the Sony Xperia 1 V1 for 4 months now and I'm completely delighted with everything apart from one thing and that's the long end of the telephoto lens is slightly soft in some situations, and I forgot the missing video pro app which in my opinion Sony wants a right rollicking for.
I came from apple to Pixel this year had my pixel for over a month now. I switched to a galaxy 22 plus that was given to me to try and lasted one day. I had to switch back to pixel I love the call screening I love how all the Google apps are right there to use as I use them a lot. I like the OS experience of the Pixel so much better. I think I may be a pixel main now lol😂
I don't believe those "Major Tech Reviewer switches from popular phone to new popular phone that just released last week!!!" videos. Those are largely for clicks and views. Also, also I think we're increasingly getting to the place where folks are (as Flossy says) "Two Phones Nelson" or "Three Phones McGillicutty". I don't think a lot of those reviewers switch their main, personal number from phone to phone. Maybe a work number or maybe switch a personal number for the week for purposes of shooting the video. Also, like you mentioned too many of them 2 weeks later drop the "I switched BACK to my original phone!!!" All that is largely just noise. Those flight tickets to the latest Snapdragon Summit aren't going to pay for themselves!
@@TechOdysseymy main phone is the iPhone 15 pro max but I also carry the s24 ultra everyday. However, I’ve thinking of getting the pixel 9 pro xl or even the older oneplus 12 with now the new oxygenOS 15. What are your thoughts?
Sony used to be really popular in the UK. They used to have a pretty good range catering for all budgets . They've been watered down and aren't as popular in the UK now
I know this is gonna sound like i have issues with certain tech channels. But the switching videos were interesting at first /but it has literally become saturated with gotcha moments. If your gonna do comparison breakdowns and day in the life switches i can see that.but I dont wanna speak for everyone but after a short bit you can tell whos switching or not. Like its obvious... especially Bias reviewers that clearly mark up apple products as elite and tear apart any competition without even trying these non apple devices for more than a few days
Looking forward to see this video. Now few months after it was released, with all updates ( seen couple reviews just at the release and they moans about things don't work right, hope updates fixed things 😅 )!! I'm thinking to get 1VI later this year, black Friday or when the price will go down a bit 😅😅 quite expensive now. Thanks
I had both. The Xperia 1 VI is very nice and light-weight but I preferred the Pixel 9 Pro XL for how it felt in my hands and the haptics. The cameras were very close except for the selfie one. What I like about the Pixel 9 Pro XL is that I can shoot high quality videos with the selfie camera. Also no wobble on the XL when you put the it on the desk to type.
Adam, looking at the comments and your opinion i am interested in this, but my provider doesn't carry any Sony phones, and the price is a little more to than i can pay when you are a pensioner. I always said since the first time, i started to subscribe is that you are the real deal on RU-vid.
Yea, I was thinking of switching to the XL, but I dislike the huge camera bump on the XL. Been using the MK1 VI for a few months here in the US on VZ pre-paid. Everything worked out-the-box from day one. I like the design, size and weight.
Hey Dude! Great video again, love your content! Maybe could you help me with some practical things of the 1 VI? Previously there was a limit with 5 fingerprints. Is it now the same or you can record more? Can you use the screen as a flashlight while taking a selfie? Thanks again for all of the information you provide is from these phones, not just the Sony, but the others too.. I liked the 1 VI since it came out, but I wasn't sure.. So for me it really helps deciding, and for now I'm quite sure it will be my next one. All the bests! 🤜🤛
The headphone jack on the Xperia 1 alone will make me not even consider the Pixel as an option. The one Pixel I did have did not transmit video over usb-c or Miracast. That was a real turn down. My Xperia 1's have never failed me. Currently on the mark V and in love with it.
@@disastermaster3K "because it builds credit" is a ridiculously poor reason to make a less than ideal financial decision. A leased phone doesn't give you cash back, it doesn't give you rewards, it doesn't give you access to other services from the bank such as a high yields savings account etc. A leased phone also doesn't take you from point A to point B.
I have been curious about the Sony Xperia lineup since around the Xperia 1 III, and every year, I wonder if I ever would make the leap to Sony. I next get to upgrade in December 2025, and I will be debating whether to go from my Pixel 8 Pro to a Sony Xperia 1 VII or the Pixel 10 Pro XL.
I don’t understand Sony at all and why they even make android phones. They would do great if they brought their phones on carriers and actually tried to promote their phones.
I have three phones a iPhone 16 pro max, a galaxy s24 ultra and a pixel 9 Pro XL and I am always switching between the s24 and the Pixel 9. But I also keep my main sim in my iPhone.
I own them both, but Im selling the Pixel, the telephoto lens its way better than the Sony and the Android Experience is also miles ahead of Sony but... That's it, everything else, the Sony its better 😅
Sony lagging behind with less Android and security updates for the price they charge against all the Chinese brands like xioami oppoo oneplus and vivo that are miles in front of Sony
Very good video, I use iPhone years, my iPhone 13 pro max work like champ with new battery, I used Xiaomi 14, Samsung, but for me iPhone was better, I bought Xperia 1 V and I can say Xperia is amazing phone, I was thinking to buy Xperia 1 vi, is it big difference between Xperia 1 V and Xperia 1 V I?
Interesting, just dropped my pixel 9 pro xl. I've been disappointed by the last two Sony phones I've had. The 1 iv and the 5iii . So Im very hesitant about ever purchasing their phones again
I am very big on design and careless about the extreme SPECS everyone focusses on because I do not spend my whole day being on the phone. I do not like phones that do not appeal or the company did not put any effort in design. This Sony phone may be great on specs but that design does not appeal to me. Great job by the way as always.
Maybe put your Sim card in it, show that you can plug corded headphones into it. Find a case for the sandwich... Maybe complain about the range (throw the sandwich maybe)? Could be your most popular video ever!
I have a question. I'm an American living in Japan and I was going to buy a Sony many years ago, but it wouldn't let me download a file over 2GB, is that still the case? That's the reason I didn't buy it. And I believe I tried viewing a video from the SD card that was over 2GB and it wouldn't let me watch it, can you also check that too.
@@TechOdyssey Thanks for getting back to me. I tired checking that when I was going to buy the phone, I couldn't find anything to change it. I also looked to see if there was an APK file to fix it with no luck. Can please tell me where in settings and what to push. Thanks.
I'm in the market to for new phone I have a Zenphone 9 an love it , what your thoughts on a android phone that's fast an good at watching live streams an dosnt lag..I bought a s24 an it kept lagging an freezing up I sold it went back to the Zenphone an it's million times better.. I thinking that Sony phone mark v6 is the model before better or ? , also thinking pixel 9 pro I'm not sure witch way to go...but like your saying it's all horse 🐎 power baby with no A.i ya reckon the sony
Once Sony updates it with the proper video pro app I'll be in at a cheaper price unless Sony actually does make a successor to the Xperia Pro I this winter.
Sounds like a problem I'd like to have. It must be hard to have access to so many phones and not wanting to try them all. As for title I think its just clickbait people always say this and say that but, its obviously click bait the title never matches whats in the video.
I use the sony xperia 1 iv but I miss the playstation interface sony had on there older smartphones like the xperia xz premium. I like that the xperia 1 iv has physical sim cards and no e-sim since I switch between multiple android phones and they all have physical sim cards and none of them have e-sim cards. I had the xperia 1 iii before I had the xperia 1 iv but I miss the software from the xperia xz premium. I really like and enjoy using sony software and apps like the walkman, album and gallery apps. I still have my sony portable walkman cassette player, sony walkman portable disc man cd player, sony walkman portable mini disc player. I'm just miss the sony hi res audio that runs android. Unfortunately, the north american models for the sony hi res audio players that runs android have there volume limit caps. However, the japanese model of the sony hi res audio players that run android have an uncapped volume since the volume has no limit cap compared to the north american models. In certain regions depending on the countries they limit the volume of certain devices. The countries with the unlimited volume have a high gain mode for high impedance headphones and hard to drive headphones.
@@TechOdyssey I agree, understand . I guess I was just lamenting, ranting and hoping Sony will try to market it better in US. Frankly this phone is probably worth the premium for many users.
I think Sony's biggest problem with their phones in the US🇺🇸 have been their marketing has been horrible from the name to the number scheme just turns people off and not partnering with carriers to offer deals while getting them to talk about and get the word out their. I've always thought every time I seen a Sony phone was good brand good specs high price but not wanting to take the risk of why haven't they got big in the US? Is their something else I don't know about that others do and have stayed away from Sony phones, when the Playstation and Sony name is super popular and you do think of quality and cutting edge when it comes to technology. I think their bravia tvs have taken a huge dive when it comes to market share in the US as well.
The problem with Sony is the customer service. If you crack the screen or have some hardware issue. Kiss the phone goodbye and the money you spent. The warranty won't cover it because it's not sold in the USA...
Sorta ... Most places online you can buy it from offer warranties from insurance companies that cover accidental damage and malfunctions so you can definitely get get the coverage you need.
Even though I very much like Sony perseverance with the idea of keeping microsd card and 3.5jack in smartphone but their software implementation in device at best is mediocre, camera app with it's low quality photos in auto mode, clean android so os with minimal customisation possibilities. Plus they had quite audacity to use low end display with high pwm at that price level. Very controversial device though all they had to do was leave the strengths and remove the weaknesses, and this is in the 6th generation already..
The one phone to make ne switch from team Pixel would be an Xperia. I need sony to work on better support of said phones before i consider switching to them though Also also I hate those switching to Android after being a lifelong iPhone user videos because of how disingenuous they are.
Not a Sony fan too many times I’ve had a Sony and it had os issues and battery issues and I never really had a good experience and I don’t think their support is great
No I don’t believe the switch videos. You need a lot of authenticity to be believed. But I am interested in them if genuine, and I do believe you. Don’t forget if you went iOS you’d never have to leave or move ever again 😂
Dont understand why video on pixel is so poor. Noisy, loosing focus. Just really bad comparing to different flagships. To notice that, it is needed to watch on gigger 4k screen. I actually was "lifelong" user :D:D of S24 Ultra, 16 pro and pixel 9 Pro and at the end come back to Xperia and no regrets.
