Today I am going to tell you how to make a circuit for your clock. You can use only one battery for a lifetime by using that circuit. It is a very simple circuit. Study the video well and prepare the circuit.

I did not add a charging circuit to this circuit as it needs to be completed at a very low cost and can be used for more than 3 years once charged.

I like it,Simple but very essential.PS you can add TP4056 or powerbank module for lifetime use.The Circuit is great!Thanks for sharing the idea.Do you know how much expensive disposable alkaline battery is?.And AA Ni Mh that destroys Quarts Clocks.There are so many Clocks been destroyed by my Ni Mh AA battery.And i don't know what to do

...but you’re connecting a 20k resistance directly across the battery. Won’t it discharge pretty quickly ? The drain from this will be way more than the clock mechanism...

It works only 3 months due to higher resistor value .the resistor is used to drop the voltage from 4.5 to 1.5 due to which voltage drops and battery discharged quickly

I put a 4 "d" cell holder on a wall clock with the cells wired in parallel. Lasted nearly 10 years. The clock mechanism failed before battery pack did.

@@GjithVee yeah if you put 4 D cells in *parallel* it increases the capacity but not the voltage. Typical AA cell has ~2000mAh (varies) and 1.5V. For example I’ll use D cells with 10000mAh here. Put 4 of them in parallel and now that’s a battery with 40,000mAh, 1.5V.

That battery should not measure 4.53v be careful charging. Don't bring a lithium ion battery over 4.2v

Good idea. You can also use a small step down tranformer, 220v ac to 4v ac, rectify it to 4v dc and then use your circuit. It wil work for life time

Charging circuit is needed since this setup when I tried it last only for 2 to 3 months of providing the power to the clock after which it requires charging.

Ckt. Is good but In this ckt when battery voltage goes below 3 volts, out put will further reduce less then 1.5v, so Instade of 10 k between emitter & ground ,use 1.5V zinner, it will maintain 1.5v at output ant it's become very long lasting.

Add a battery protection ckt from old non-working mobile battery. Look for videos on free bms module and how to connect it to 18650 lithium ion battery. And use a 18650 battery case incase you need to charge the battery, you can use tp4065 module to charge. But why go thru all this when one charged battery will work for lifetime?

What about nonrechargeable longlife high capacity saft (Lithium-Thionyl chloride) battery? Something like LS14250. You can fit it into battery holder include circuit so clock can be hang on the wall. This saft battery can hold capacity for 10-15years. Did you measure how much current transistor need to be slightly open? It's probably much more then clock self. Rechargeable battery lost their capacity and voltage over time even not in use after using like that is just waste good rechargable battery which can be used much better

Why would you use on a low curent requiring clock a transitor for dropping the voltage from the Lithium cell to 1.5, insteed of using a simple resistor. The transistor will disapate the dropped voltage as the resistor would and even more for making it gate open!

10k ohm + 10 k ohm is parallel with the cell it self take 3.7/20000= 0.000185 A curent . A 2 A rated cell will drain in one year

With using this circuit connect three PN junction diode in series the voltage will automatically drop to 1.65v

...instead connect any old mobile charger/adapter (5v) in series with a resistor (ohm can be calculated by measuring corrent used by the clock circuit). Resistor should take up 3.5 volts, leaving 1.5v for the clock. Will work on households having electrical backup or inverter, if not ballery may be used.

This is rechargeable battery, so once the battery is down then we have to recharge again for some short time and we may use for long time... I think this portion is missing in this video...

चल जाएगा चलने में कोई दिक्कत नहीं लेकिन जब तक बैटरी पूरी चार्ज है तब तक ही चलेगा यदि बैटरी डाउन हो गई और बैटरी के वोल्ट 3volt से कम हो गए तो आउटपुट 1 वोल्ट रह जाएगी और घड़ी बंद हो जाएगी सबसे बेहतर तरीका घड़ी में पुरानी सेल लगी रहने दे उसके ऊपर पैरलल में लिलियन बैटरी जोड़ दें घड़ी को 1.5वोल्ट ही मिलते रहेंगे

I’m confused… if you’re plugging that up to clock gears, what was wrong with just putting a battery in there? It’s one thing if the battery drains at a ridiculous speed, but that would be unusual ‘cause these clocks are already designed to last a long time. I was building one and put a battery in it to test half way through the project, moved on to another one and the clock was still ticking months later… in fact, it’s still ticking. It would’ve been more impressive were it a oscillator circuit you applied to a motor that simulated a ticking clock. Do you have one of those?

Hi friend, excellent video. I had 18650 batteries from an old notebook, and I thought: how can I use these batteries in place of an AA battery in my wall clock. The 2 resistors alone will drain it in 520 days, and the clock... My guess is it will work for about 6-8 months. I don't know how are you going to mount it on the wall, tho :)

The clock consumes around 0.6 mA to work. If you have a 3000mAh Lipo battery, it will last for 5000 hours, that means 5000/24h = 208 days. When I use a recheargeable LSD NiMh Duracell battery with 2500mAh the clock runs for about 6 months or 180 days! So, it didn't worth all the work to get some days more!!
