Great video ...but please show or tell exact multimeter settings...kinda impossible without that info. Chair is stuck in reclined position, is there a way to hook a 12 volt battery to get it down
i have this same unit in my power chair dont know the style of the chair and need another remote, can you tell me the style of the one you are showing on your video, need your help thanks
The motors on lift chairs rarely ever just "break"...don't dispose of your chair and buy a new one so quickly...my mother's lift chair/recliner was stuck in the recline position...I ordered a new remote control (her chair has the 5 pin corded remote) but that didn't help...so I turned the chair on its side...removed the motor and unscrewed the 5 screws holding the motor "innards" inside....a simple look at the fuse shown it was blown...a 2-pack of replacement "glass" fuses costs $3.00...her chair had 2 fuses attached to the motor circuit board...one was good the other blown out...after replacing fuse...re-installing the motor...and giving the motor tracks a liberal coating of white lithium grease the chair operates perfectly...after panicking about having to spend $200-$400-$600 for a new power-lift chair we had a good laugh at only spending $3.00 (not including the new remote for $16.00 which is being kept as a spare)
Hi. Could you tell me what brand chair you have and where you found the fuses? I have a Pride model a little older. Do you know if they have fuses too?
Really interesting. Question: the "5 screws holding the motor "innards" " --- wonder which they were. My motor has 4 screws that reveal the mechanicals -- the drive screw, a couple of gears, and the "linear drive" mechanism. Only those mechanicals and a bunch of grease. The electricals and the motor itself are over to the side. 2 really long screws and that's IT for the cap holding the motor and electricals. It won't unscrew, and there is a lump of stuff off to the side of the otherwise cylindrical motor cover. No screws. Were there 'hidden screws' under the ID labels?
You refer to "this lead and this lead" when testing the motor, but where you're touching with the test leads in not visible. Please help. A little more info for those of us who have never used a multimeter?
Why is there conductivity on the hand control all the time, with NC or normally closed switches? I would think a remote with momentary switches would be NO, or normally open, and when you push the button it closes the circuit and allows current to flow through. Or is the remote connected to a delay of some kind?
Is the motor removable shaft a replacement item? My moms chair pin came lose because the clip pin came lose letting the plastic end bind up and shear off. Also it is a threaded insert .
thanks .everything was all good with the tests you showed and then I took the actuator seemed to be jammed so i removed the back of the motor and turned it down with my drill and behold the problem solved but I couldn,t have done it withot testing everything first.
I HAVE A 4 BUTTON HAND CONTROLLER ON MY RECLINER. I DON'T KNOW THE MAKE OF THE RECLINER OR THE CONTROLLER EXCEPT THAT IT SAYS "EASYLIFT" ON THE CONTROLER. THERE ARE 2 BUTTONS THAT LIGHT UP "LOCK AND UNLOCK". THERE ARE 2 MORE BUTTONS. 1SAYS "UP" AND THE OTHER SAYS "DOWN".. I HAVE ONLY BEEN USING THE UP AND DOWN BUTTONS TO LOWER OR RAISE MY HEAD (TO A STANDING POSITION OR A SLEEPING POSITION. THE CONTROLLER GOT JAMMED BETWEEN MY BODY AND THE RECLINER,. NOW THE UP AND DOWN BUTTONS ONLY MOVE THE ENTIRE CHAIR HIGHER OR LOWER. I DON'T HAVE A MANUAL. HOW DO I USE THESE BUTTONS? IS SOMETHING BROKEN OR IS IT JUST LEARNING HOW TO USE THE BUTTONS?
My Pyron Okin Deltadrive lift/recliner chair lifts/seats/extends/retracts footrest but doesn't recline. I'm suspecting a broken spindle nut. Do you have a video for checking/replacing that?
For the last few days I have been having an intermittent problem in which back tilt button does not work occasionally , is there an easy fix for this problem ?
Good morning this is not a comment but a question the wires connecting from the motor to the remote are exposed and damaged even though there is green light on the outlet box not able to work the chair can l replace the motor all together for it’s the wiring from the battery to the controller that is damage and is it simple to do
Thank you for the video. I have a leather 3-piece set (couch, loveseat and chair) that uses similar Okin motor and control system. My motor functions in one direction only (retract). I have it disassembled and can test it on different power supplies and switches, (this one was on the chair, verified switch and power supply function from the love seat switches). I figure the little switching supply board is faulty, but how do I check for sure? Seeing the motor spin one way but not the other surely means the motor is fine. And, will Okin supply me just that little controller? This thing was taken out by a power surge when lightning hit a power pole down the street.
i guess im asking the wrong place but does someone know a method to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot my login password. I would appreciate any help you can give me
@Boone Simon I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
where is the reset button on the motor can you please show me? it doesn't do anything no power at all if resetting it doesn't work the motor is probably bad please help?

I ordered a block and found it impossible to fit onto the shaft. I have taken the unit apart and I suspect that there are different sizes of shafts and blocks. Is this so? I have tried to manually push the shaft into the block but find it impossible. Please help.

My father who is 92, has a Pride Lift Chair, and yesterday it started to mess up on him, is will only go into the lift mode, and will not recline at all, what Can I do
I was a lift chair tech for 13 years. I found the normally the cause for a squeal going up or down is caused by the scissors mechanism. If you spray some silicone spray on every joint on the mechanism and also any place you see a clevis pin on the frame. Let it work its way in by running the chair up and down and that normally solves the problem.

Joe, what does it mean when your lift chair is moving slower and slower? Also, the motor noise is lower. Does it usually the motor that is gradually dying? Is it better to replace dual motors? Thank you.
