The Ultimate Warrior & Zach Even-Esh speak out on "the science" and over-analysis of everyone's own training. Its time to do less learning and more doing.
After watching this and hearing ultimate warrior talking about finding the answers in you and nobody else but you has them, I stopped seeing my therapist. I'm meditating again, I've lost 80lbs, going back to the gym starting today and start lifting again. I'm getting my GED and getting my life back. Thank you ultimate warriors for opening my eyes.
@eric izzett -well done brother. Keep up the good work and keep on listening to that inner "warrior voice"! Your story is Very inspirational. Keep on living the dream. There's some "warrior" in all of us, and stories like yours, further illustrate that in today's modern world, A world full of distractions, A World where everyone is easily offended a world where anyone can comment and give opinions When no one asked for them yet much like with your story, much like the story of others, you found the answers yourself, not on the Internet, not at the bar, And not from a therapist. Warriors methods of finding himself arnt for everyone but the principles they stand for and the discipline they are built on, Is something we can all relate to. Now if you'll excuse me, Mr. Resistance AKA me taking time to write this post, is getting in the way of me starting my workout 🤣.
this video just kicked my ass into gear. I was going to go out and buy a bottle of whiskey.... I can't do that shit. I'm not a hapy drunk and I have a "killer attitude" when it comes to self destruction. I need to focus that energy elsewhere. R.I.P Warrior. My hero.
GG Aaron I was deep into partying and drugs about 7 months ago. Until one day I gathered all my focus and realized I’m not going anywhere. I had gained about 20 lbs of fat, and I was depressed and seeking something else from life . I started lifting again, and eventually found myself interested in powerlifting. After that day I finally hit a PR on the bench, I never looked back. Lifting heavy is the only rush I desire now . Powerlifting probably saved my life from crashing
FUCKING WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The ICING ON THE CAKE was the BRUCE LEE Quote!!! All I was thinking besides WARRIOR, was BRUCE LEE and there he is!!! GREAT VIDEO, and MESSAGE!!!!!
I do agree that we can push way harder than we think we can, but he forgets that training on gear gives you a BIG advantage. You can train like a madman and recover for the next workout tomorrow. Doing that naturally is very hard.
I like this video. For it is the opposite of mental gelding by other males. Most men have experienced mental gelding in one way or another whether it is from your dad or from your peers. We don't even realize that it's happening to us until we stop and think about some of the idiots that we meet in life that really don't have you in their best interest and they don't want you to ever become physically or mentally stronger than they are. I advise all of you to recognize and cut those people out of your life. You don't need them. Positive videos like this. You keep them in your mind. The rest is trash. Roy Jones Jr is a great example of how to live your life the right way. His father didn't want Roy to be better than he was so he did everything he could to cripple Roy. Roy got the hell away from him and became a big success. Recognize and cut those motherfuckers out of your life one way or the other. I don't even care if it's form a huntin trip gone wrong. Just tell them the bear did it.
I love the warrior I really do! Yes, the human body can take a lot of damage but let’s not forget he was on steroids which allows himself to recover way faster than naturals and Ronnie Coleman is basically disabled now from his insane training we need to know when to scale it back! Train hard but train smart
It's so true, there's so much stupid information I just stoped watching these idiots and starting doing what I wanted to do an have made a lot of progress.
I've been lifting for 20 years, never to be giant but to stay big, and solid. Only time I slow down is when I've had a torn muscle ect.. but just modify, lift light and keep going to rebuild.
William Taylor --- bro he does em slow, precise and old fashioned!!!! there's benefits from doing em heavier n sloppy but warrior's pain threshold and discipline WONT hear that
Bro him and hulk hogan could legitly support Andre and etc suspended durring feats of slams.... and they're both relatively under 300 lb guys lifting 400 + lb dudes 😨👏
Why couldnt i find this when he was alive. I love this guy. Its the same shit that pisses me off then people wanna ban me from the gym for working out harder than anybody.
His right..nowadays everyone is a professional in explaining something than doing what they are explaining....u have 20 year olds explaining what it means to be a 60 year old coz they read about it in some website..what about living it till u get passed 60 then..then..tell us what u think about it..i bet u will laugh at your 20 year old know it all self..lol..its the information generation
Rip, I liked the UW alot! But folks science does matter...The beautiful part about it is you don't have to take anyone's shit. You can get your own data and prove any theorem or so called fact wrong. But make sure you got some numbers to back it up.
If you discover something that works it's only a matter of time until the science catches up, but are you going to wait decades for it to catch up before taking action? Besides that a lot of the studies would be based off of what people found to be effective and they want to find out by what mechanism. A lot of stuff in science is short-term studies, small groups and inconclusive only to be contradicted by the very next study where one small variable was changed.
He looks like a guy who has less cardio than life-lessons and more regrets than Hope. I'm 10 years older. The point is we're not just a body, but a mind too - exercise both.
But if you are training the way Warrior is referring to,you have to tap into your mind. Some intestinal fortitude to do 1000's of reps a day!!!That's bannanas
Three things here, folks: 1) lots of these guys are young, 2) they are on 'roids or PEDs (like NFL players, pro wrestlers), 3) NONE of this advice (even if you want to accept it, and I admit as a former prime-aged man who did a lot of sports / law enforcement workouts and tests, I sympathize with the fire and drive and need for decisiveness) is for people 50+. I had two spurts of such really "aggressive" workouts at 50+: one, at age 50, where I tore my labram in right shoulder and one at 54 where I earned a herniation of my L5-S1 lumbar disk that since then has given me progressive stenosis (which means my feet and toes get numby without warning, along with streaks from my ass down the back of my leg, one or both of them; AND I get to look forward to that forever problem getting progressively worse as I age). Any more pounding on that disk through lifting or running promises to lead to major spinal surgery - which has a 50-50 chance of making it worse. Btw, In 2009, age 47, following a session of old school dumbbell pullovers with a weight I could handle 10x, I discovered two days later that the odd feeling feeling in my neck and shoulder was a herniated disk at C5-C6, leading to no workouts and muscle relaxers for nine months. Today, I have about 90% strength on my left upper body movements (due to fried nerve tissue from the neural impingement of bicep and scapular muscles on that side). For months, I had a lot less than that and was a blessing I got enough back that I didn't have to allow a stranger with a blade to go ot work on my spinal region. You can think too much about things in life; that's a good lesson to take to heart for sure. But if you are an older guy, you BETTER think hard about a DECISION to go hardcore with strength training. If we're talking about not overthinking how to apologize to a loved one, or to finally to undertake that project you've always dreamed of, that's one thing. But if you're 50+, trying to be 35 isn't aggressive; it's STUPID. Enjoy what you have before you: eat right, stretch, walk, bike, basic calisthenics and get on with your life and all the good things that it can be. Lots of ways you can be decisive.
Once Warrior got off the heavy steroids he was shit!! His body melted away and he got Palumboism. He probably was still taking HRT though up until the end !!
