I wouldn't wear lifting shoes for deadlifts. They're perfect for squats and oly lifts, but for deadlifts I'd go for something like Metcon 8 or purpose-made deadlift shoes. Great video, though, much appreciated! :)

You can use a hairdrier on the inside of your chucks and tear out. Turns them into soft barefoot shoes. There isnt more than 1 millimeter of soft rubber between you and the floor, makes them thinner and softert than most wrestling and boxing shoes. I would however never squat in them tho.

It sucks that you can’t find a place that actually sells them so you can try them on before buying. Different brands fit differently, as I’m sure you know. For example, I have a wide foot and I had to go up a half size when I ordered my cheap Powerlift from Adidas because Adidas typically fit a more narrow foot. Reebok, on the other hand, are wide ( so I’m told). I kind of wish that I had purchased a shoe with a higher heel because I still have trouble hitting depth in the squat sometimes. Thanks for all of your videos and advice. Very informative.

You're welcome, and I agree - being able to try them on is far better whenever possible . . . which isn't often as you already know. We've got a bunch of pairs of lifting shoes that have been donated over the years, so our new members usually have the chance to try on multiple shoes before buying anything (and most of our members keep their lifting shoes at the gym anyway and are very nice about letting others try them on for sizing purposes).

I have been lifting in barefoot shoes, no support at all. I have looked in a sports apparel shop and they have cross trainer shoes. I tried some on rigid sole but they had no straps but laces. Are these ok?

Your argument against Chucks for deadlifting seems logical, but why not just deadlift in socks?

Cause it’s not allow in some or most gyms :/ I think that’s the reason but I could be wrong.

I have a bone position restriction in my ankle that prevents one leg from being able to get knee over toes. I can get at least parallel depth if I stand on 3 pound dumbbells. What would be my best option?
@TestifySC

Have you tried lifting shoes? The heel will have the same effect as the dumbbells, but with much more stability.

@@TestifySC I just ordered some and I expect to get them today. I can't wait to try them out.

Very informative, but correct me if I’m wrong but the Sabo Deadlift pros don’t have a raised heel.
@TestifySC
@TestifySC 6 месяцев назад
That's correct - I included them in the list of shoes in the description in case someone wanted to deadlift in flats. If I can save one person from lifting in Chucks . . . :-)

@@TestifySC I almost fell for the Chuck trend some time ago, glad I wasn’t a lemming lol
