Ever find yourself out of inspiration, already took shots of all the interesting spots in your city? In today's video we will put our focus on a theme, rather than on the location itself. We will chase patterns made of light and shadows such as light pockets, light beams, leading lines, creating visually interesting compositions and see how a seemingly uninteresting place can make for a great photo by changing the way we approach it.

Don’t be afraid to let those shadows get really dark so the only thing standing out in frame is the light and subject crossing the light. I’m not sure if that’s what your intention was. Either way I enjoyed the video, the pictures were great! Can’t wait to see what else you come out with! Cheers!

I see what you mean. That style is nice well yeah! I tried to go for a more natural, true to life sort of contrast this time, since it was actually quite bright in reality. Maybe I'll try with true complete shadows a next video too! Thanks a lot for your interest man i appreciate it 💯

Another good video! It's nice to see you having fun while taking the shots. A bit of a personal preference thing: I notice that you often add a blue-ish tint in post. This is awesome for night shots, but for harsh sunlight like this I prefer a warmer color palette.

Thank you very much! I'm trying to keep it fun but talking alone while shooting is sometimes difficult 😅 regarding the warm/cold tones, i get what you mean! I tried both and decided to go for colder tones / white light. But in reality it was definitely much warmer and golden than my edits (more like in some of the shots towards the end of the video).

While he is doing a great job with finding interesting lighting, I couldn't help but think there was so much more potential for interesting shots, such as @ 3:12 when the man with the hat crossing the street cast a really crisp shadow on the ground. I personally would be taking more photos of shadows themselves.

Oh my god you're so right!! That would have been an amazing photo, my eyes were looking at the wrong thing 😳 I appreciate your comment that's definitely something I'll keep more in mind in the future. Maybe that'll do a very interesting video too 💯 Thank you!
