Lightburn Setup for J Tech Photonics Lasers and GRBL Machines 

You have no idea how much this video just helped me. I just got a new foxalien 20 watt laser and it was doing some weird things, couldn't seem to get anybody to help me. this video answered every question and fixed every problem. Thank you so much

14:16 This is what I was looking for thru out youtube! Your videos have helped tremendously and I greatly appreciate you. I’m trying lasering for the first time and I’m using my cnc machine. I was completely lost at first. I had no clue about: 1.) Enabling laser ($32=1), 2.) $30=(match s-value max), and finally, 3.) choosing the right COM port. When I applied all of these steps, my laser came to life!! 😅 Out of curiosity, what does $10=0 do? I need to check if mine is set to zero now. Thanks for all your feedback and help! 😎🙏🏼

Hi, first I enjoy your videos and they have been very help full to me. I have my GRBL laser setup and so far it seems to be working ok except for one thing. When I imprt a image or write text when I am ready to engrave everything is backwards. The images and text are mirrored. I know I can flip them in the top margin but I am sure there is a setting I can't find that will let me engrave what is on the pallet correctly. Any advise you can give will be appreciated.

Question about the S Value Max. I have the 7w laser, was wondering if this value should be set higher than 1000? In some setup documentation for the laser they showed some test gcode to run and said to set to 4000?

so I have the laser up and correctly running on lightburn. We have discussed my burning too heavy on the phone and that's because I didn't set this settings correctly. Now I am adding an HD camera. and when I try to run the alignment for the camera, the machine tries to move to the right and back, grinding out. It worked fine the first day, so I am unsure of what setting I changed that is not allowing the laser to move over the table.

Hello can ask some question?I have an Utror laser machine here and I am using the same app that you are using. but my problem is why the forward and backward button is not working? The machine is not moving when I am clicking the forward and backward butoon?i dont know where to adjust.

i have a GRBL 1.1f controlled laser and when i enabled $32=1 i get poor quality results but faster engraving befor i changed that setting i would get perfect engravings with lower power setting but engravings would take at minimum 1 hour for a 3.75x3.75in tile. what i am trying to do is get the speed up which befor changing S32 no matter how hight i set the speed it would never change a setting of 6000 would be the same as 200 ont the etching time.

my console in Lightburn only shows waiting for connection. My shapeoko is plugged in and the laser does power on and shoots a beam. Suggestions?

I dont have a 32 in my grbl settings?

why after enggraving on lightburn it still shows busy and can't go to home on the home button or move axis?

hi. i have a neje 30 watt laser and lightburn will not cut anything. not a mark at all. and $32=1 gives an error:17 code. its like like the laser is off. the command is $32=1 i think, but i get error:17 everytime i try to change it. it stays at $32=0. its crazy. seems like everything else works ok, even the laser comes on, but i cant get it to burn. plz hlp. thx.
