On this week's show, I demonstrate how to use Lightburn to plan and engrave a waste board (burn board) for you laser in order to take you engravings and your alignment to the next level. I hope you enjoy the show.

Thank you for this information. I havent pulled the trigger on an engraver yet, but hopefully it will be in the near future. I would also tell you that I purchased a BC Mask. I must say it is the most comfortable mask I have used. Thanks again for that information.

I have the baby brother the Longer Ray 10, I agree with having it mounted to a board, I use a honey comb to laze on. I also have camera. For me this works well for me. With your waist board concept having a grid on the waist board would be great to index the honey comb in the proper position to maintain perfect camera alignment.😁🛫

Again, a simple method which makes subsequent projects so much easier, and making it copy of the online grid makes it a no brainer to use ... my only suggestion is to add a spoil board to this which has the grid on it, that way you can then replace the spoil board and redo the grid if you ever make the mistake of cutting into it 👍

Not a bad suggestion at all Barry. I like it. Thanks for tuning in and for chiming in with your thoughts.

Loved the concept. But full screen on an larger iPad, couldn’t see as much with glasses on. Maybe watch later on tv but highly doubt it. But again, you got my old programming mind working. But I didn’t need it. Very much easy for most

Kenny, great idea. I am definitely going to do this. Why didn’t I think of this?

So okay Ken, I understand this is for engraving, and I can see how this makes setup easier and accurate... but if you're cutting, do you remove this board from your laser, or just put your cutting grid on it? I'm sure this is a stupid question.. but I've got a lot of'm. Guess what I'm saying is I want to use my laser for both. Thanks Ken!

I use all my lasers for both. When I am cutting, I place a honeycomb in the enclosure with an aluminum plate underneath and it protects my waste board. When I am just engraving, I remove the honeycomb and aluminum sheet and use the grid to align pieces for perfect placement when engraving. I hope this makes sense and also, answers your question. Thanks for tuning in Dennis. It's appreciated.

I'm sure that will be handy for a lot of people, but I don't think I'll be getting a laser engraver.
