A lightning fans dream, :-) another twilight run from the l.p.g. how long can this old girl light the evening sky with her tail on fire and pound on the chest of the lightning fans at the side of the runway , ?? will we see her at twilight again ?? enjoy.

Yes all who fast taxi our aircraft are ex Lightning pilots with high hours on type, we have a core of 2 guys, Denis Brook and John Ward. Static 6 weekly antidet runs are done by us the ground crew.

Would that I could. My last tour was at Binbrook. You do welll. Thunder City guys did well. RIP Dave. But that doesn't absolve the government.

Are the guys that taxi the aircraft on these high speed runs pilots/pilots that are capable of flying the aircraft type? I'm guessing they would be but at the same time I've also seen ground crew taxiing jets that they obviously cannot fly.

We 'should' have at least five still flying, and regularly. And Buccaneers. And ALL of the RAF's cold-war jet warplanes. It is scandalous that successive British Governments have cleared the skies of our great heritage.

Well if you are serious and you have an unlimited budget, there are 3 foresale in South Africa along with spares, auction ends Jan 31st 2013, get you cheque book out and get on with it, no one is stopping you, thats the only way its gonna happen, good luck. We the LPG arent planning flight, never have never will do. End of.
