Are you kidding? Every now and then there's always something going down in Millennium Tower. Before that, in the late 80s it was but a plot of land that was empty. That area is an attraction for conflict, helicopters, money flying off, and explosions.

Considering Kiryu is shrivelled up, he's likely going through intense chemo which plays into the themes of pushing forward. He's going for a LINAC procedure (You can see the display on the wall.) which is a machine that targets cancer so we'll likely see him in the future akin to Kashiwagi but his story is over.

@@edwardtorai3545 I don't know because I don't play the game yet but based on the cutscenes when Ichi meets Daidoji agents, they said Hanawa's final report to trust Kiryu Kazuma and Ichiban Kasuga to finish the mission.

Unfortunately with his position, he was more likely going to get silenced by the snake Horiuchi, what Kume did to Masato was terrible, but Masato was the one who created this monster to deal with his anger as being seen as a Yakuza's associate and thus scum and beyond redemption

It would've been kinda funny if the crowd ended up stoning Eiji to death as he's dragging him to the cops. I have a feeling that full bottle that knocked Kasuga out cold- the man who beats bears, bulldozers, diggers, megalodon sharks and giant squids- that probably would've killed the frail Eiji.

Really liked Kiryu's involvement with the party this time. He's learned to keep living, and has finally gotten over his series long death wish. Now hopefully spend time with his family. While the story might have ended on a weaker note than 7s, I definitely wouldn't say it's bad. Ichi not letting Bryce die and shun the burden of his actions on others was another highlight.

@@hyde5213well... no. All of Kiryu's plot in the mains story was still centered around Ichiban. Ebina was his half brother, everything with Arakawa, Seiryu Clan was introduced with 7 and I hi, and so on. The whole story was. It just felt like a really good send off to the old era of Yakuza. Far, FAR better than 7 where those characters we needed to send off were nothing more than cameos.

I'm glad they didn't kill Kiryu off, but I do hope this is the last LAD game to feature him as a main character. I don't mind him returning as a supporting character, but this game really did feel like a big send off for Kiryu as the and him officially handing the mantle to Ichiban. Having him come back in a main role in future games would really cheapen that I think. The man has deserved some peace.

Ebina looks like a revamped version of Iwami and Mine. The dynamic of Ebina is the reverse version of the dynamic intro of Iwami and references Yoschimizu intro too. I guess RGG is still on about to end Kiryu journey with someone who is the complete opposite of him (Ebina literally headbutt a woman lmao).

I definitely made Bryce way too easy for myself when I got the True Hero's Bat and got it to 30+ beforehand. But goddamn what a great game, I actually cried watchin Ichiban talk it out with Eiji. It was like he got a second chance to help Masato, only this time he actually got to see it through. The ending being Kiryu finally accepting help and pushing through with treatment is such a perfect way to close off his story as a playable character. imo 7 was meant to ease us into the idea of Ichiban but 8 is the Dragon of Dojima's last battle, and the Dragonfish's true rise to glory. I can without a shadow of doubt say Ichiban is deserving of the main character role now more than ever

I've seen mixed feelings on it, but god do I love 8's ending so much. It feels like actual closure to the past era of Yakuza and it let's both Ichiban and Kiryu shine. It's also great because unlike the last game it's not a one way street where Kiryu is passing on a torch or anything. Kiryu learns from Ichiban how to let other people help him and Ichiban really gives him the push to keep going until he has nothing left to give. Meanwhile Kiryu HELPS Ichiban gain the confidence to lead the former Yakuza into their new world. And oh my god that ending for Eiji and Ebina. We've seen so many "villian victims" in Yakuza too far gone and just get themselves killed, but here we see our protagonists get through to them and convince them to atone. Heck, even Bryce (albeit unwillingly) was saved from death and will HAVE to own up to what he did. I really hope this is the direction moving forward as we move out of the shadow of Yakuza and post the dissolution with Ichiban leading the main franchise and Yagami the spin off.

2:40:47 Kiryu said the same phrase as Nishiki (when Nishiki about to set things right and blow up the ten billions yen) 2:42:31 The dynamic intro seems to be a mixture of Mine's and Little Baby Iwami's, which again solidified the finality.

Like mother like daughter. But it also has shades of her Y1 and Y2 hair also. This game finally ends Kiryu's Saga. He's old and sickly now and no longer has his powerful strength. His days of fighting thugs and yakuza's are over. I'm happy that he gets to live the remaining years of his life in Okinawa with Haruka, Haruto and the orphans. Now he can spend time with his children and see Haruto grow up. He may even see the children of the other orphans too in the future.

Yuya literally mentions that whenever Kiryu shows up, you know that a storm is coming in the Stardust boys life link. Kiryu and Vergil are both people who have a stoic attitude that hides a goofier side, initially prefer handling things themselves, both end up being depowered in some way that forces them to rely on others, and in the end, reclaim their names. They're more alike than I think now that I mentioned this.

The way I see Kiryu living and going through treatment is it has story potential for RGG to finally provide closure for Kiryu. Of course, we have to see him fight, go through, and recover from cancer. We also haven’t seen him officially reunite with any of the orphanage children or Haruka. I also expect visits from many of the new cast as well as the OG cast. But when it comes to playing as Kiryu again, I really don’t know if RGG will ever let us fight as him ever again. They really seemed to treat this as a Kiryu’s last game as a protagonist considering that we had the bucket list and reminisce feature in the game. I mean would they put that in the game if it wasn’t his last game as a protagonist?

I’m sort of joking but I could imagine RGG using Kiryu’s cancer recovery to involve some grand conspiracy with the hospital he is treated in that will put him in the plot for the next game on whether he lives or dies and ichiban has to get to the bottom of it in order to save Kiryu’s life. 😂

when you think about it, bryce is kiryu's final boss, because his radioactive waste hoarding was the source of kiryu's cancer, while ebina is ichiban's final boss, because he is threatening everything arakawa set up for the yakuzas affected by the dismantling of tojo and omi clan, plus he's technically his half brother

I be surprised to see haruka and haruto returns. But for kiryu, i believe his days fighting over villian. But today rest for kiryu san. Even if its over, there still more villain out there. Now kiryu getting old, it time the morning Glory to take its place in the next future generations.

now that i think about it in the next yakuza game we can possibly see shishido and nishitani come back as secret agents for the daidoji and kasuga will make enemies of them. it could possibly be kasuga and the gang vs daidoji and the daidoji are now trying to kill kiryu for breaking their agreement. but then again the daidoji mightve given him a pass bc kiryu saw his last mission out. who knows tho, anything can happen. and i really hope kiryu beats cancer and gets back in action again. he's still too young and knowing how persistent he is (like kasuga) i know he will find a way to keep giving ppl the hands. but the best way ending for sure is to finally give him a rest because he's been through so much. but part of me still wants to see him keep going man. he's really such a goated character and i dont want him to leave yet

I think deep down he saw a 'Nishiki' and lesser extend 'Mine' in Ebina. Nishiki lost his sister, his only familiy member and went down a dark path that Kiryu unfortunately couldn't talk sense to him. So he just want to avoid another tragic 'Final Boss farewell' for the most part.

the darkest path this series can go would be ichiban somehow turning evil. that would be the biggest plot twist bc man he's way too passionate and i can just see all that backfiring on him. i feel like the beginning of this game might've actually foreshadowed it in a future game. it really might just happen dawg. i can't wait to see the direction they go with him. like he literally just forces himself into everything and i can really just see one day that he will be tired of it or an unforeseen circumstance can happen. it would be like nishki reincarnated again
