Idk why this video got views randomly. Just want to say yes this IS Uzi speaking. I don’t know why there’s people saying “that’s not uzi’s voice”. It IS Uzi from the AdinLive stream so you can look it up.
Yung Lean is unbelievably good if you understand his music. A lot of people don’t get it the first time around. I didn’t. But now, I’m obsessed with drain and sad boys, they’re so underrated. Making music makes helps you understand how great they are. Puts into perspective.
The thing about Yung Lean is that he basically changed the aesthetic of the entire rap game, or at least a huge portion of it, which in itself is impressive enough, especially when you consider his influence is so far reaching that there are probably a lot of artists who are stylistically influenced by him that don't even realise it, even in the mainstream. But since then he's also put out so much good quality writing that, realistically, most people, even his fans, didn't really expect. His lyrics are super poetic and his ear for melodies is great. I still don't really think out he puts out great albums, but on his day (Red Bottom Sky, Blue Plastic, Boylife in EU) he can write as good as anybody. He's a quality artist with years ahead of him still, and he did more for music in his first few years than most famous artists do in two decades.
Facts I agree with you. I have a hunch Yung Lean has not reached his peak yet. He’s staying true to himself and perfecting his craft. He’ll get his recognition sooner or later
He's one of my favorites. He's a disciple of Lil B like a lot of those young rappers from the early 2010s. I would be shocked if he wasn't influenced by him
I think what he means by role players can boil down to two things. Lean is from Sweden and he and Sad Boys have so much respect because they know what part of hip hop culture they fit into and don't try to be overbearing about it. Think other white rappers like Mac and Em, they play a role for the culture and dont overplay how much of a role they have. They never portray an image that's not them. The second thing it boils down to is that Lean and co hit a sound of rap not many can do. I can't imagine anyone else making say Unknown Death 2002 or Starz.
Very true. Yung lean is a legend because instead of trying to ride the wave of the sad boys era he reinvented himself with every release and not only that he stayed true to who he is and where he’s from. His aesthetic and his music reference swedish culture in ways anyone not familiar would have to research to see. He’s a true artist in that sense that he stayed honest with himself and didnt let the fame change him.
Yung Lean is a super unique and eclectic required taste, if “trap and bangers” all you listen, you probably won’t like him. If you love music as a whole, you love him to. Man’s is a game changer.
First song i heard from lean was yoshi city and it blowed my mind, so different from anything else, his universe is groundbreaking and time and eras passes by and his music is still ridiculously good. This is THE underground artist from our generation for sure
@@dragon-id5uj Yeah well, before Ye was Ye, they were telling him to STICK TO PRODUCING. Lol before Yeezy's it was STICK TO MUSIC. Your point makes no sense, by that definition your role is whatever the f you make it.
By role he might mean he is using his personality and talent, and not following trends out of the need of staying relevant, staying true to himself and his essence. Just an interpretation i don't wanna dik ride uzi like that tho
Lean and Bones/TeamSESH need to get their flowers while they're here, they literally started this whole SadBoy emo SoundCloud wave but bones was the most influential cause X and lil peep's early stuff are over SESH beats/songs and $uicideboy$' first EP ever has him featured . Not to mention dude is EXTREMELY talented there's literally no genre that man can't do .
NGL Warlord was like the best way to start the 2016 era, all viral artists blew up eventually like Lil Uzi, X, Carti, Rich Chigga, etc.. Warlord was released on February? I think
Uzi make music for every hip hop fan, lean stuff isen't mainstream, the old stuff may be getting into tiktok, kyoto may be our generation first classic but still i highly recomend checking stranger and starz, if you like draingaing recent stuff check the new album, if you just listen to uzi and got here stick with the ones i mentioned
I was never crazy for his music I mean I liked a couple songs way back when but I was listening to a lot of other shit while he was poppin. Some of my homies couldn’t get enough of him tho. However I do realize his impact on the game from the way niggas do videos all the way to melodies in a song. Yung lean gotta be on the SoundCloud mt Rushmore fasho
bones, yung lean, and spaceghostpurpp all underappreciated for what they did. sucks that spaceghostpurpp fucked his own name up tho but he deserves his credit too
Even tho I fell in love with Yung Lean's music and sad boys, first, people gotta give Drain Gang their props too. Considering they're all friends and work together, it's no surprise that Bladee and them are really right alongside sad boys, as far as their influence on underground music and their creative evolution, over the years. It's just that Lean became kinda the face of the cloud rap movement
Yung Lean is one of the first artists that opened my eyes to the beauty of the underground scene when I was in 6th grade. I got nothing but respect for him and I love his music
he’s not, he’s under year0001 managed by emilio. recently, shits been goin down and likely sbe and dg are likely parting ways. emilio has done sketchy shit. bladee has some lines dissing the label on cold visions(presumingly) and they’ve been uploading albums through trash island.
i think i’ve only ever heard people say positive stuff about lean; he’s a likable guy and his music’s very catered to specific groups, so those who _would_ hate him know they’re not expecting anything groundbreaking so they don’t bother
I think lil B then soon after we had yung lean and close to that spooky black as wel as BONES Just before Asap Rocky really generated some hype. This in my opinionwas the perfect storm on Soundcloud and RU-vid to completely change the aesthetic and architecture of hiphop. Absolutely no doubt in my mind those artists had a massive impact on the genre all in their unique way changing it for ever. Making everyone realise there’s less boundaries than we once thought and combined nostalgic Melodie’s and visuals whilst really utilising the power of the internet. Damn I miss 2011-2014 internet rap. The mainstream I feel wouldn’t even know that’s where a lot of these hugely popular sounds and looks originated from
Its also like Lil Uzi, lotta people I know say they don't like Lil Uzi but they don't listen to him regularly. Fck I didn't even like him that much until I was replaying songs for the 5th time.
There are times in life where you just want everything to end. There are other times when you just want to listen to Doing It Stealthy at max volume and call your boss the R-word
@@DomOfSin666 I don't dislike him or his music, but what I mean is, he is less versatile and it's a lot harder to market bladee because he's style is a small niche.
I dont rlly think people go for the nostalgic feeling though, he still has a lotta fans like pre ginseng blowing up on tik tok he still consistently had over 1mil monthly etc
Saying that Lean is playing a role is ridiculous. Lean is probably the realest ever in music. The man is an open book with all of his past problems and hardships. Saying that he's a role player is a disrespect.
I think he‘s saying „playing a role“ is just he being himself and being real. Once you get your name out there people will mainly recognize you for your „role“
idfk..when you listen to their beats for the first time, you just go crazy from their depth and melody, and then Lean reveals himself as an interesting poet.. why don’t people understand him, wt4
Should prolly change the title to “Lil Uzi vert’s thoughts on yung lean” due to many ignorant people not watchin the video itself and misreading the title
I remember I started listening to yung lean ironically, I commented on ginseng strip when it came out saying ‘really?’. His music ended up being my childhood lmao
