I threw both my shoes as soon as it started. Yall don't know omg this was the driving to the spot song for us old heads. Shew. I shoulda known better than to get on here this late at night. Still know every word. ♥️
Cory Gunz had bars for real. He went so hard on the original A Milli track that Wayne took him off of it, and of course his version of Cannon was fire. He actually released a fire mixtape around 2011 but obviously everyone slept on it. Check out his Funk Flex freestyle, bro went crazy.
"And I i call it like I see it and my glasses on But most of Y'all don't get the picture Less the flash is on" such a dope line! You can't see/understand because you're in the dark 💣
I love seeing the new generation taking the time to appreciate the greatness my generation grew up with wayne. His work was wayyyy before it’s time. Weezy F is a true living legend & his songs will forever carry on throughout the future generations.
@@quentinjones68772014, it was the Carter 4 , a str8 classic where Nas, Tech n9ne, Birdman, Busta Rhymes, T Pain, Shyne, Jadakiss, John Legend , Drake, Rick Ross, Cory Gunz were guest appearances
The "beat the beat up call it self defense" line went over a lot of people head too. He just had to word it so it could rhyme. But when someone tries to beat you up but you fight back and defend yourself "self defense" but in this case he talking about the actual beat to the song.
We won state in football in South Carolina in 2011, the instrumental to this and Right Above It by Lil Wayne is what we warmed up to. Yall should do that next!
They doin exactly what me and the homies used to do in high school when Wayne was putting out bangers mixtapes records erythang. Just sitting there high as hell rewinding fast forwarding trippin off the greatness! Good times man. 👀
For real! I'm in the original Wayne generation and this song still has bars that impress me like I heard em for the first time to this very day. That man's genius is unmatched 🐐 🔥
1 train 1 train 1 train. That’s a crazy mash up of artists. ASAP rocky kendrick Lamar yelawolf Joey badass Danny brown action Bronson Big Krit…. Hopefully I didn’t forget anyone
Got to give massive respect to Cory Gunz for maintaining the level of the song, how he managed to follow on from Wayne’s performance there is miraculous
Wayne just HAD to go hard after he came back from jail. Such a visceral track. The whole album was full of him rapping like his life is on the line tbh.
Another banger bro people sleep 💤😴 on cory gunz he was so 🔥🔥🔥🔥 his flow switch ups are some of the best out I never understood why Wayne didn't push him more lyrically and bar-wise he was one of the nicest in Young money and he from my hood in BX he grew up like 5 blocks away from me I knew his pops Peter gunz y'all might remember his dad from the show love and hip hop ny
Cory Gunz was the freestyle king when he was mad young. Check out some of his older freestyles. The baggier his clothes are the older the freestyle. LOL!!!
You guys are doing well and I salute u all. Can u check up this dude in Ghana called Lyrical Joe? He’s a wordsmith and his lyrics are insane. U won’t regret listening to him.
Birdman forced Lil Wayne to enroll in college, and he majored in English until he blew up and dropped out to further his career - and it *shows*, the man spits Roget's Thesaurus fluidly like a fire hose
Tha Carter 2 is way harder than 3 and 4. One of the best hip hop albums to date. I remember going to a Lil Wayne concert and Stopped for gas near the venue before the show and Cory Gunz and others came out of a big SUV to go into the mart at the gas station.
Fly in, carter 2, fly out, tha mobb....classics and so dam lyrical. I think those 4 songs perfectly explain why wayne was considered the best alive at one point
As popular as lil wayne is he is still under rated. I think in future kids will appreciate the word play and bars Lil Wayne had more so than when he was in his prime. So many people said he was just saying random shit cause they didnt understand it but when new people who never heard his shit and break down the bars he going to get praised alot more by future generations. If he actually writes his songs himself then he is one of smartest rappers out there too. Like people goin to go from thinkin his songs sound good to actually seeing he got bars too.
