Fun fact: When Kendrick says "in a minute he gon say that he love her" a minute into the verse he says (in character) "tell me who loves you, I bet I love harder.
@username7234 in terms of storytelling, honestly can't think of any of the top of my head. but i can still give you a few suggestions. right above it, she will, mahogany, uproar, comfortable, let the beat build, best rapper alive, receipt, go dj...i could go on, but these are some of *my* favorites.
Also called Mona Lisa bc throughout history, in the art world, everyone has wondered what Mona Lisa's "secret" is. They say her slight smile in the piece means she's hiding something. SO GOOD.
This track is so fire in every way, but I feel like everyone misses the aspect of the Mona Lisa metaphor that makes it a quadruple-entendre, which is the fact that the girl (Liz a.k.a. Mona Lisa) is actually the mastermind playing everyone else - which links right back to the actual Mona Lisa painting and her unreadable facial expression.
@@anidea5646 i'm not discrediting wayne, him and em are my two favorite rappers. i'm just pointing out why so many young people can't appreciate em to the fullest.
Eminem has never spit a bar I don't understand. Wayne is light years ahead of Eminem, I stopped comparing them along time ago. Eminem is at the level of good battle rappers. Wayne is inhuman, it's levels to it.
Listen, Recovery is amazing I'm not denying that. But MMLP and The Eminem Show are two of the greatest albums of all time. You guys gotta react to more songs from those albums. Love this channel
They need to review the whole damn albums. You don’t appreciate it if you listen from start to finish. Albums were actually made in completion not just for singles.
@@warlord2171 there were way better albums released that year by other artists , okay maybe music to be murdered wasn't that bad. But it's still nothing compared to Eminem early albums such as the mmlp or Eminem show.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard a rapper tell a story so flawlessly without compromising on the flow and the bars. Wayne could have been rapping about absolutely anything and still would’ve sounded good. But he painted a full picture
@@itsyoungamazing1610 can we not talk about Eminem for once? I'm very familiar with Em's entire catalogue. When Em tells a story it is flawless lyricism and story telling. But if you aren't listening to what he is saying it doesn't hit the same. Wayne managed to do both on this song which is very rare. Eminem actually agrees with me. He said the same thing about Wayne's verse and called it the verse of the year
This is weird. This track has been going through my head for days. I thought it was fire but it didn't blow like I thought it would. Great story telling.
Btw “Mona Lisa” is subliminal because it’s meant to mean a deceiving woman. It comes from the fact that the picture of Mona Lisa was started with the face of a woman, but because the artist couldn’t finish the painting in that time with the same woman, he had to use a male model to complete it. So the Mona Lisa painting is famous because it’s literally half a woman’s face and half a man’s face, hence the smirk.
Im so proud of you boys listening to the Goat Wayne… however… I’ve heard No NAS… I need y’all to listen to NAS - Rewind… that will get y’all on another level. And one more Wayne … actually two, Wayne - Best of Me Freestyle … and Wayne Bonnie and clyde freestyle… THANK ME LATER
Ok and now you guys need to do a full album. Eminem first 3 albums are classics and you can’t compare to any Wayne mixtape, except maybe Da Drought 3. Also check out Westside Boogie freestyle. He’s signed to Eminem
I hope you guys react to Em being inducted to the Rock and Roll hall of fame 😊 This is classic. One of my favorite Lil Wayne songs is 6 Foot 7 Foot because “bitch real g’s move in silence like lasagna” is my favorite lyric of all time possibly
At the part when Kendrick starts rapping and says “ In a minute he going to be saying that he lover” he literally says that he lovers her 1 minute from him saying that. I think he says it at 3 min 40 seconds then, at 4 min 40 seconds her says I lover her. Y’all should check out the podcast Dissect on you tube n on Spotify.any time Kendrick raps and # numbers are involved he’s either counting down to something or counting up.
Lil Wayne "Big bad Wolf" he goes in for almost three and a half straight minutes..No Auto Tunes. He just spits and reminds those who forgot he's top-tier level
If ya’ll like story telling. Listen to more NaS. Specifically “Rewind”, “Blaze A 50”, “I gave you power” and “Shoot ‘em up”. 4 of the greatest story songs. 🔥
You guys are probably a little too young to catch this bar "Watch your mouth, Milli Vanilli" They were a hip-hop duo in the 80s However, in 1990, it was revealed that Milli Vanilli had not actually sung any of their songs. It was later revealed that the group’s vocals had been performed by session singers. As a result, the duo was forced to relinquish their Grammy Awards lol
You gotta do "12 Minute Freestyle " by Eminem and Royce Da 5'9"!! This is back when Em very first came out and he would actually throw in some street stuff in his rhymes. I PROMISE, IF YOU LISTEN TO THE FIRST 30 SECONDS, YOU WILL KNOW THAT THIS WILL BE THE HARDEST FREESTYLE YOU WILL EVER HEAR!!
A few references i wish that wouldve been caught, for instance the milli vanilli bar, and one is so simple but goes so hard is the "they started french kissing so they didn't see muah"
What’s it gone be - Busta Rhymes Thugs devotion - Mo Thugs Dayz of our lives - BTNH Hay - Crucial Conflict G-Dep, Diddy, Black Rob - Let’s Get It Black Rob - Woah These are classic songs you guys should react to
