(This is the story of the ever-so elusive Juelz Santana & Lil Wayne collab album titled "I Can't Feel My Face". First talks of the tape started all the way back in 2006 but now the year is currently 2021 and we still don't have the mixtape leaving rap fans with one of the biggest "what if's".

What could’ve been a big moment for them both at that time. That would’ve taken Juelz to another level… such a waste..

Main problem with the 2 was the difference in work ethic. Wayne was an absolute BEAST in the studio, and the amount of songs he put out was on another level. I'd buy so many of his mixtapes, and next to none of them repeated songs, it was unreal. On the other hand, other than the (amazing) Back Like Cooked Crack series, and few others, Juelz didn't do much solo work. He had verses on some DJ's mixtapes, but his material wasn't coming out at near the clip of Lil Wayne. Wayne was turning dozens of popular songs into his own. Juelz just couldn't keep up with Wayne, his solo career and still being apart of the Diplomats. I'd say that only Gucci had more mixtapes than Wayne in the mid 2000's, and Gucci didn't have close to the lyrical ability of Wayne.

not entirely true wanye was just a different beast back then he had the most saturation on the tapes out of any rapper you make juelz sound like a slouch which was not true at all the set was one of the biggest on the circuit for that time Jones was up there with the same sort of saturation as wayne but juelz got short changed from jim for those that know. Which totally effect juelz ability to put out music and he has a smaller body of work compared to many rappers of his time, at least he did better off than some of the other set members who got pretty bad deals.
@pmcneil15
@pmcneil15 Год назад
@@jenkims1953 disagree, Juelz wasn't even on the same label as Jones. He had every opportunity to put out mixtapes independently and he didn't. And it was his choice! There are plenty of interviews where Juelz admits to rather chilling and smoking and partying than putting in work in the studio. Heck Cam'ron was doing the same back then, hence why you see few mixtapes from him as well over the years. There were a number of guys putting out mixtapes at the same clip as Wayne(i.e. Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy, The Game to name a few). Juelz got complacent after the success of Dipset. And Wayne never got complacent, he was literally trying to be the best rapper alive. And put out enough music to try and prove that point
@jenkims1953
@jenkims1953 Год назад
@@pmcneil15 its to many factors to it but to say juelz was a slouch i disagree even if he did say that he did do to much drugs its irrelevant because set fell off and it was many things that contributed to team breaking up. if you actually know when the team divided the music started slowing down from all members except jones and santana its way way way later on the backslide when he slumped into excessive drug use and its not soley the reason why the album never came the breaking up of the group was the catalyst its not like he choose to be lazy he was kind of nudge to be and probably wasn't sure what to do with all this money at the time except have fun. They do say hindsight is 20/20 And actually they were on the same label at the time juelz was signed to Rocafella under Dipset because of cam but jones being an AR they would of slid santana through jones first because it means extra cut so realistically he would of come in through jones and when they left Rocafella they all went to koch as a team the prequel(unofficial) came out while santana and co where still between Rocafella and koch records. There was also two factors so wayne never stepped up to make it happen just as much as santana never did they were probably trying to build hype mainly and it just never happened they were in the fast lane at the time and it was pretty new ground for rap in general the tape scene was huge back then and it was coming like candy each day. its common there is many in rock etc that had the same thing fans been waiting 20 - 30 years for albums etc.

Juelz became addicted and unlike Wayne couldn’t handle the addiction and remain functional. On top of that without Cam, Juelz was lazy. All those projects Juelz Pushed Out from 02-05 were bc Cam hammered him in the studio. The evidence is in the fact that once Juelz ditched Cam he never put anything out. Also, most people still don’t realize how highly influential Cam and The Dips were to Wayne.

Also Lil Wayne featured on the song Make It Work For You from Julez Santana's 2005 album What The Game's Been Missing! and on Lil Wayne's Da Drought 3 mixtape, Julez Santana is featured on Black Republicans (where he took shots at Roc-A-Fella) and on Julez Santana's God Will'n mixtape Lil Wayne is featured on the song Black Out. They also have other mixtapes together, Face Off which was released in 2006 as well as My Face Can't Be Felt and I Can't Feel My Face Off both released in 2009. Lil Wayne has worked with members of The Diplomats many times like on Cam'ron's song Touch It Or Not which Cam'ron said originally featured Boosie Badazz and Webbie when it first got released. Lil Wayne then heard it and Todd Moss and Asylum wanted to put him on the song and it ended up being a last minute decision they did before they mastered the album. Lil Wayne even shouted out Dipset after a freestyle he did on Rap City in 2007 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YPM6LujVIqs.html (At the 2:06 mark

I'm not playing monday morning QB but on everything I told my friends 15 years ago that album would never come out until Santana actually released several projects as profitable as Wayne. Brothas thought I was crazy. But why would Birdman & universal records spend $$$ on a duo album when they would have to split the profits with a artist that they main artist would have to carry. What I mean is this? J. Cole & Kendrick are in different labels but a joint project would be profitable for both labels because they know both artist will get equal amount of investment. Santana had a fan based that was great for downloads on DatPiff but they wasn't buying his shit. Hence why this album never came out.

This will be the only one. I pretty much talked about everything pertaining to the project itself in this video. I would have no clue what to talk about it part 2 because I covered pretty much everything I came across pertaining to "I can't feel my face".

What I don't understand is why don't they form a group and sign a new deal. It's the same thing with Cole and Kendrick. They are struggling to workout their label issues but I'm like, why not just sign a new deal as a group? Wu Tang made it possible for labels to sign a group and another label signs one of the artists. [×]
