“You are what your record says you are” Skip has been trying to use this line as a blessing and a curse. Any team that finishes with 45 wins or more is almost always worthy of making the playoffs. This year had so many teams in the west with playoff level records. How many years have we seen teams get the 8 seed with a .500 record? The Lakers only finished 43-39 last year and ended up in the conference finals. You can’t have it both ways depending on what daily narrative you’re trying to push.

In the 46 games that Jordan played in 01-02 before the injury, he averaged per game 25.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks.
