Old Jay z was great the way his word play and flow was something else. But definitely just rode off the trends and got hits due to his features singing iconic songs
@@zethloveless7238 you ever heard of the niggas in atlanta that genuinely think Future is a bigger artist than Drake? Same situation. As a rapper I can't deny Lil wayne is definetly Number 1 If not tupac but the argument w pac is that if u cut sumn down early enough in life they ain't have time to get washed up. Wheezy Rap skills in the meaning of rap just rhyming, flowing over a backbeat he is #1 nobody rivals that but JayZ is up their in that category maybe top 10 but highest 5 yet his influence much stronger than weezys his connection of rap to outside of rap is much bigger but it's two sides no one can ever agree on. again fundamentally rhyming, flowing lyrics, actually rapping itself wayne vs creating a broader influence, songs that dominate radio stations hell even malls in NY his liquor jus bein a billionaire shows the difference. it's just what you decide is more important as a rapper i argue influence, becuz of jayz i gotta bigger group of ppl who'll listen to my shyt, but becuz of wayne i can make shyt that is fire.
maybe the longevity and cultural impact. i personally think nas is number one but jay z is no doubt one of the greats and i hate the recent hate towards him
Probably because he has billions of dollars and can afford to pay to keep his name relevant behind the scenes.... But that's just my opinion, he is a dope emcee but he's just not active enough in music imo to be #1
@@joepickford6219Jay Z got carried by Kanye West producing and fell off after that 🤷 Biggy Wayne 2Pac Eminem Rakim Busta Rhymes Nas Kanye West Jay Z Drake My top 10
@@iphoneeleven7601 that is wild. Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint are two of his widely believed top albums and Ye didn’t have a hand in producing them. You also don’t have any of the new generation in your top 10 other than Drake. I would’ve easily put Kendrick or Cole over Busta Rhymes.
@@pastorsleep i disagree to be honest , Wayne is a great rapper and deserves to be mentioned on my top 10 list. Eazy E is the reason im a fan of hiphop but unfortunately hes not a top 10 rapper, i would put Nas as n°1 rapper of all times .
Fr, he took inspiration from Jay Z, but went above and beyond when it comes to wordplay. I mean wordplay and punchlines alone Wayne might be the best rapper, next to Eminem. Overall as an artist I think Kendrick takes it, but its definitely debatable. Imo even Nas is better than Jay, and I think the fact Nas won they’re rap battle pretty much proves it as well
Wayne is criminally underrated in the sense that not a lot rank him higher but I can assure you, decades to come we will look back on his stuff and give him the proper recognition he deserves. Number 7 is crazy Big and Pac are ahead of him mainly for the fact that they passed to early and are judged on the few projects they have.
Biggie songs are an adventure. Pac is just like a way above average rapper that's culturally iconic. He acted for fuck's sake. lol Biggie's flow is so insane that he's one of the few rappers ever to make it feel like the beat constantly tries to match up with him, rather than the rapper trying to match up with the beat. No matter how he changes up his flow during a track, and how suddenly he does it, it still ends up working and it's insane.
Lmfao Wayne is #1, em is top, a lot of new gen rappers are better than everyone he listed, if you don’t think juice wrld and token, Harry Mack, JID, have more talent than every rapper he listed besides Wayne and em, you’re brain dead.
@@UnkleWowly Only cause he lived longer than they did. They both died in their 20’s. Just look at their body of work in that short time. Not to mention their impact on the game. They both have been dead for over 20yrs
That just proves a couple of things: 1. Contemporary equals priority. 2. Sales do not equal culture but weirdly enough do alter the reflect on it. 3. It IS a skill-filled list. You can re-order but you cant take 1 out, per se. Ps: J. Cole better be in the top 15. 😂👍 I would go: 1. Tupac 2. Nas 3. Biggie 4. Pun 5. Jay-Z 6. Eminem 7. Kendrick 8. J. Cole 9. KRS 10. Rakim You can have Wayne at 11 if you want. I have Kanye there. And Q-Tip at 12. Doom at 13. We can go on.
@@haterkiller1312 Are you another one of those people that think just because someone doesn’t write their bars down that they’re going into a booth and spitting verses without constructing them 1st ?
Jay Z is not nearly as skilled, artistic, prolific, or enjoyable to listen to as many others on that list. Whoever put him at number 1 has terrible judgement
@@omgtirk no he is not💀 em is way more lyrical than Wayne💀 and when em raps he use hes voice as an instrument he doesn't just ride the beat. Also he he can change hes flow multiple times in one song, the dude is lyrical genius bruh, I seriously don't think you've actually listened to an em song if you think Wayne is better than him💀 also it's not just that hes a lyrical genius it's the way he delivers what he raps he extends the bars really well.
it’s really not. like i promise you it’s not, it’s kinda sad how many people have no idea how prolific he was in the 90s and early 2000s, he cemented himself as a legend among legends. but at the end of the day, you’re the one missing out on good music
@@brodonamus i feel like you feel lm attacking the man but promise you im not and respectfully disagree. Thats all. He's great but not good enough for some of us. You clearly not being one of those who think so. Cheers m8.
Eminem, MF Doom, Tupac, Lil Wayne, BIG, they're the Goats, there is no placing them because you ask 10 people to name that list and you're going to get 10 different answers. They're all #1, the fact we're talking about them and 2 of em have been gone for nearly 30 years, that alone speaks to how impactful they were to the culture. Taste is subjective, no point in making a list except for rappers to dick measure to other rappers.
What are they even comparing or evaluating when making this list. Is it sales, albums, ranged, lyrics, flow what is the criteria. Cause this list is all over the place
@@cashken8474chill out bro, they still one of the most sold rappers ever, even in Spotify still in 65M+ listeners monthly. Maybe you dont like him but isnt "overrated".
Lil Wayne is 100% above Jay Z, but definitely not above Tupac Biggie Nas or Eminem, but I guess most rappers will say they're number 1 even if they know they're not in comparison to all of them
He is right man. He is the GOAT and all GOATS recognise that. And I am a die hard Em fan 24/7, and we get it when Wayne comes on it's a LIT shit. He is the one ✨
Em is the greatest lyricist of all time then Jay then Kendrick then Wayne then Cole. But we’re talking about overall Hip Hop artists then Kanye is the GOAT
Hot take: Kendrick should be number 7+. Wayne should be in top 3. I love Kendrick don’t get me wrong but he’s only got 3 or 4 full length albums. Compared to the rest of the artists on the list with 10+ albums. More albums= more room for error= more likely to fall off before retiring
See lil Wayne contradicts himself soooo fkn much he’s said on more occasions he’s not even top 10 best rappers of all time he puts most the ogs at the top
