For those who don't understand, the song is written in latin and it has 2 parts. 1st part is in reference to Lord Jesus Himself. The phrase "Beatus vir, qui suffert tentationem: quoniam cum probatus fuerit, accipiet coronam vitae" (Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life) James 1:12 directly refers to Jesus. The 2nd part refers to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The phrase "O quam sancta quam benigna quam amoena O castitatis lilium" is taken from a Gregorian chant titled "Ave Mundi Spes Maria" The opening part is a praise to the Mighty Creator taken from Psalm 36:30

I think this is the best choir singing Lilium. Their voices are all so good!

I had a dream of four children, two darkness, two light, and they sung this while we walked on a city filled with ruins and distorted buildings... Slowly the world of ruins turned pitch black, then the children disappeared. The only thing I saw was countless of eyes on the pitch black sky. They gazed at me as if they were looking at a great sinner. I continued to walk on despite being scorned and felt the coldness of nothingness yet still walked and carried on until the very end. Just my personal dream.

Right at 2:38, it's like hearing Angels sing! Wonderful performance and arrangement. The other thing I love is seeing the personalities in the singers, they all are very dedicated to perfection, but the level of emotion is very much indicated, I reckon the conductor wanted everyone to really "let it rip".

Vraiment incroyable cette version, l'orgue est à l'équilibre parfait avec les voix. Il les accompagne sans s'effacer ou prendre toute la place. Je n'avais pas perçu cela à la première écoute, c'est majestueux ! Bravo aux peuples japonais pour ces deux chefs d'oeuvre.

I didn’t think this peice could be pulled off on the organ but that smooth introduction proved me wrong, but the I think the Harsh reeds during the Kyrie section was a bad decision, the magnificent singing of the choir help balance it out though.

For some reason, this was in my recommended again. I've listened to this performance countless times before...but I still can't take the wide-eyed lady seriously😂 Best version after the original though. I know Lilium was sung by a lot of choirs, but this particular choir's performance and the original(Kumiko Noma) just hits different.
