Great video! I enjoyed the opening sequence too haha. I think your points about having two saws is spot on. My go to is the stihl 261, a 50cc saw. Saving weight when doing limbing and working around brushy areas is so important. No need to be in a rush out there, like you said we aren’t loggers lol. I’m digging the safety gear. Really sick setup. Finding PPE that is actually comfortable working in it is huge. Nice work!

Yeah, those clogger pants are game changers. I would only wear the others in the winter, but the new ones are really light.

As you say having two saws is a must... three is even better! My usual pairing is an MS261 and an MS461... about 50 CC and about 76 CC. Depending on where I'm cutting the third saw could be an MS170 or an MS661 (about 30 CC and 91 CC). I may have missed it, but I'd suggest that there is another hazard when limbing. Namely kickback. It can happen easily when you are in a tangle of branches and trunks and you accidently clip something with the top quarter of the bar nose. It seems we both encounter vines regularly... I find that they will pick a chain right off the bar like they have fingers if you don't pay attention to the lay of the vine... fold it over a bit and put the bar in it and you may have your chain pulled off the bar. Yup... there is a lot to this game!

Nice vid! Love the intro and and the shots along the waterfall creek. Limbing tangled, scrappy hardwood crowns can be a pain for sure. What made you ditch the full wrap, just too bulky? Cheers for the vid👍👍🪓

I’ll elaborate more when I do a review on this saw, but it’s the Husky setup. I like it on my knockoff.

I agree, sgomewhat. I think folks play overkill with saws. They get to much saw and to long of a bar for most trees. I do agree about having two saws, though. I have got enough bars pinched to know of the need to have at least two saws. I have a batter powered stuff because I have had enough helmet but seldom wear it. I live wher it is hot die on my. and I hate sweat running into my eyes and blinding me. I usually just wear a soft cover as soon as I get the tree on the ground. I wear glasses, so my eyes are generally protected. Anything bigger than two inches in diameter is firewood. I will not mess with battery powered stuff, because I have had enough batteries

You want to tune your saw, so it keeps the same rpm throughout the cut. If it bogs down, give it more gas by opening up the H jet a tad. I set my saws rich, so I seldom run into bogging problems. I also use Stihl saws. I have a husky but I have 19 Stihl saws, go figure. For big stuff, I use my MS 440. For smaller stuff I use one of my sub 50 cc saws and I have a bevy of them.
